Back then with no internet we rarely got to see our favorite bands .If you were lucky enough to see them in concert they gave you more than the album version . Zeppelin did it more than most and we thank them for it
Watching these MSG shows makes me realized how traumatized I was by mom saying 'no you can't go' 😳 then hearing kids in class all day singing Zep songs! 😂 I bet you can guess what ticket I bought with my 1st babysitting $. Stones & Who shows were after Zep. Damn I loved working after school but could only go if I got good grades. 😒 Almost gave up Cheerleading cause the grades were slipping a bit. 😂🐰
@@cityhonors1 Back then we didn't even think Led Zeppelin breathed the same air as us! We acted as though they lived on another planet and came down from space from time to time to do a concert!
They didn't play with an opening act for exactly this reason; they knew people were going to see them, and no other. So you got 2 and a half, 3 hours of just Zeppelin.
I was there in Madison Square gardens in 1973 best concert I have ever ever ever seen in my life best band ever greatest band ever they are the masters of rock and roll in every department led zeppelin best band to walk planet earth case dismissed haters
I always loved how Robert can vocalize with any instrument whether it’s Jimmy’s guitars theramin well any instrument really. Also dude, you keep missing the best bits bc you’ve got your eyes closed. If you’re going to do a live performance reaction watch the whole thing ☮️
While I have no complaints watching Jimmy -- I love to watch Jimmy - and the live performances are great, there is sometimes a lot of improvisation and therefore lengthy videos. What you should do is listen to the first album, all the way through with headphones. Led Zep was together only a matter of a few weeks before they made their first album, and they cut it on Jimmy's dime, very quickly. That's what makes it AMAZING. Oh -- and a couple of them were barely out of their teens. Jimmy gathered and came up with an alchemic gathering of four musicians, that when put together, made the most groundbreaking first album of all time.
John Paul Jones is playing out of his mind on this song. 🔥 He and Bonham are just hammering down the foundation for Robert and Jimmy to build the rest of this song upon. Its excellence at it's finest
The back in forth between Robert and Jimmy is called "call and response", Jimmy plays then Robert trys to match it with his voice...they are truly masterful!!🎵🎶
My first concert ever was the mighty Zeppelin from this same tour in 1973 at the Munich Olympic auditorium, Germany. I was thirteen. Thanks dad, changed my life forever.
I have the bootleg for that Munich '73 show, it's in my top 5 of all my favorite concerts ever. Zep were ON FIRE that night, and all the other German shows in March of that year were as well...but March 17th in Munich took the cake that tour. I would've cut off my left arm to be there that evening, but I was only 4 years old at the time. We need time machines, damn it! Killer show. KILLER. 👍🔥🔥👍 What a great dad you have!
GODS!!! What happened with the world, when all this vibrating, natural, raw life changed to this mellow, fearfully soft mushy jelly. I wasn't born yet when they were mesmerizing the world, and I am so sorry.
Your face says it all. I love how your reactions make me wanna get up and jam with them. Unfortunately -but fortunately I listen with my great headphones and watch in amazement!
JPJ is phenomenal in this song! Especially when Jimmy is using his hands to light up Robert Plant's voice with his synthesizer. He sped up his playing and it sounds amazing and deep!
This concert was just under 4 hours and this was the last song! I can’t even imagine playing at that high of a level for that amount of time. These guys were absolutely amazing and a true gift from god! Glad I got to grow up with them
The sound that jimmy page could make his guitar sounds is phenomenal and very experimental, he changed the way the guitar is played...Jimmy page is my favorite guitarist. Talented and the goat Jimmy Page
Seen Led Zeppelin 2 times, once in 1977 on April 1, 1977 Toronto, at the Maple Leaf Gardens, then on October 17 , 1980 in Montreal, at the Montreal Forum, and my best friend bought tickets for Robert Plant's solo tour on June 10, 1985 at The Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, BC, Canada!! Led Zeppelin are truly amazing live and so sexy!! Robert Plant during his solo tour was amazing as well and just as sexy , like fine wine he ages so well! Had front row tickets to all 3 shows!! Going to see Robert on Wednesday Aug 14 at 7:00 PM at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre Vancouver, BC Can't wait!!! ❤️🥰🤘
This is so cool to see how much you appreciate these guys. This was my era, and Led Zeppelin was my first concert in 1973. There is no better rock and roll than these 4 dudes man, there just isn't! Thanks for your heartfelt reaction ❤
Saw this movie just after high school graduation at a local theater, I was 17 and was leaving for Marine Corp bootcamp in a week. My last pleasant experience for 3+ months. Dazed and Confused from this concert is still my all time favorite performance to this day.
I wish you were there to see Led Zeppelin And YES with me.....loook and reactions coming from you would have been "PRICELESS!!!!" hahaha......lol.....hahaaha
I got that double album on 1976. The whole album is great... I know I probably ran my grandma crazy I played it so much. RIP Granny love you for putting up with me and my music. This was my favorite song on this album. And in 1977 I went to see them at the coliseum in B'ham Al. That was the best rock concert I ever gone to in my life.......😎✌️🔥 Zeppelin!!! Awesome Band!!!💯✊
i was a teen growing up and was obsessed with this band, music, all 4 members were extremely talented, and they melded together perfectly; noone can top any of them individually; most reactors have 2 ears, you apparently, have about 12, which is what you need, to appreciate this group
At 2:17.... Jimmy is using a Theramin. Notes go higher up, and gets closer for volume... and echoes. (Jimmy knows the knobs). ;-) Beach Boys used it on 60s tune "Good Vibrations". And used in a lot of Sci-Fi movies. Jimmy was so good at this. And uses a bow on his guitar ! (Dazed and Confused). ;-)
Known to many, including me, as The Mighty Zeppelin That song shook me to my foundations when I first heard the studio version on Led Zeppelin 2, but playing live they really had fun with it and it’s just bloody fantastic Great to see you enjoying it so much Pope😎
Can't tell you how many times I saw them back in the 70's at the Forum in L.A, l lost count. These videos take me right back there, when l was young, l'm having a good time watching you 👀🤟
Very perspicacious of you, young sir. You have the good taste to seek and honour great talent, innovation, and instrumental mastery- and Zep here got it all. And the Sonic Wave Theramin from Jimmy to boot! But Robert's vocals are unmatchable by anyone not named Janis Joplin or Joe Cocker. Peace+be safe.
Im a drummer, and was blessed to listen to Zepplin over 50 years playing all their music and many other great bands as well... glad you've heard them deep enoug to make them one of your top picks
It is insane how good they are. You know it but when you see them live you stand there with your mouth open for half the concert. I was anyhow. I was almost in shock. I saw them in 75 & 77. You'd think they wouldn't be able to meet your expectations. As soon as I heard the start of "Rock and Roll" I was sure they exceeded them. One song after another. Thank you for your reactions. I would love to see you at a LZ concert!
The gods of rock were on fire that night.
Folks, you will not hear talent like Zeppelin on the radio these days. Probably never will again.
Radio? Planet earth and the rest of the solar system.
Proof again..... that Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever !
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
Your definitely an old soul, meaning you’ve been around before this lifetime 👍💕🔥
I think they are fantastic live.
More Zeppelin please 😊
No lyric sheets, autotune, backing tapes or silly dancers in the background-just pure talent..
Bill Maher once said that the number of back-up dancers is in inverse proportion to the quality of the music.
well said mate.
I love seeing the younger generation loving the music of my high school days. Thank you!

They would do same as a intro/drum solo/tympani,
Phase shift and Jimmy Page 50s era sci-fi sounds would segray into"In the Evening"..
They didn't play with an opening act for exactly this reason; they knew people were going to see them, and no other. So you got 2 and a half, 3 hours of just Zeppelin.
@@BenWillyums Sometimes even closer to four hours!
If Led Zeppelin isn't the greatest Rock 'n Roll band of all time, then the title means nothing ....

Jonesy’s bass during the theremin is DOWNRIGHT NASTY!!!!
@@BBaldwin agreed. He's off in another world at that point.
I have always thought that the best bands start with a solid rhythm section
yeah, Hendrix wasn't the only guy who worked out how to make it talk.
esto me eriza la piel brother!! increible banda de rock!
Loved your reaction to this video. So many people react to the studio version of this song, but I think this is by far, the best version.
Led Zeppelin, Hammer of the gods!
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
Worlds first mic drop at the end.
Always amazing... Jimmy playing the Theramin!!
I was at this concert !!! What more can I say!!!!👏👍👍👍
The back in forth between Robert and Jimmy is called "call and response", Jimmy plays then Robert trys to match it with his voice...they are truly masterful!!🎵🎶
And you can tell they both are having SO MUCH FUN doing it. Smiles all around. Led Zeppelin were a tight band on many levels.
Its one of the best examples of this ever Always loved that segment
Every member of the band excels. But I think John Paul Jones on bass drives the song. Love your reaction
The greatest rock band ever created by god and you’ll never see one like them again
My first concert ever was the mighty Zeppelin from this same tour in 1973 at the Munich Olympic auditorium, Germany. I was thirteen. Thanks dad, changed my life forever.
LUCKY! Instrumentally speaking, that was just an incredible tour; perhaps their best. Page and Bonham in particular were on fire.

It's crazy to me that these men were capable of this.
Although I'm 66, we have the same taste in music ...................rock on!

They didn't need to set the stage on fire. It was already on fire!
They seem to talk to each other Robert’s voice and Jimmy’s guitar amazing

I was born in 73... I wish I had been born earlier...would've given anything to see LZ live!
Straight up masterclass badass. Rockstars forever. Rocket powered blues.
