Ha! I fancied Billy too! I was gutted when they dropped him from the show. I looked up the actor earlier and he's had a, well, interesting life, but he's still good looking in some pictures.
He should've swept first with his foot, then bashed twice to ensure the floor was stable, keeping his his head and arms low to avoid any debris or electrical cabling dangling from the ceiling... well that's what we were taught, anyway.
Remember this episode and telling lad about Billy falling in the acid the next day in class. Was in Year 4. He said he watched it but I bet he didn’t, the bloody liar.
Me too! Watching it in 2018 on the Drama Channel, and the episode ended when Billy fell into the bath of caustic soda, then burning debris fell on him! Thought it was a horrible death, but he reappeared in the next episode, so I trawled the internet for clues - and here's the rest of the story they didn't show on Drama! Brilliant.
@@RNC200711 he was wrongly accused and he left the lfb because he was worried about a baby after a fire oh and his hair i think was because of the caustic soda if he spent one more 2 miniets he would have desolved hes very lucky his hair is bleach white because of the alkiline i think
Awwwwww I remember this when I was younger I proper fancied Billy. I was gutted when he fell in the acid

He did survive and recover
I always loved how Hallam and bayleaf were like a dad to Billy 🙂
Indeed, I love how John is a real father and they that father, son relationship, Bayleaf for sure is one too
Bayleaf is like the wise uncle John is the father, but Geoff is the nosey next-door neighbour with no boundaries
yeah ty for uploads they bring back memories
This is some really good Acting.
Agreed, the conviction the guy playing Billy gives, you generally think he's being eaten away...

1:15 you can hear what john said to malcom in the garage fire IN THE PILOT if you listen closely
I’m so happy there is a father, son relationship between John Hallam and Billy Ray, it’s so sad that John died, I wanted more of that
the quality of the film and camera seems to give this a realistic feel to it, Like documentary feel... Always seem really good to me

Even with all the protective gear on, could you in real life fall into a boiling vat of caustic soda and survive?
No
You would die in a few seconds

Jony Jonny of the explosions

When I first saw this I thought they'd killed Billy off

I'm watching it on Drama too, Billy has been arrested for murder now, the poor guy had the worst luck

Tank of acid
Caustic soda isn't acid, it's alkaline (although it's certainly not pleasant stuff)
This is scary
