You are quite accurate there. Peter wasn't very fond of out of sync croud clapping. Has switched to a career as IT consultant after leaving Opeth. You might be interested in doing live shows from Peter days, that's their classic lineup

Speaking of Hope Leaves, that's a great choice especially live !
Hope Leaves is off "Damnation" which is a twin album recorded alongside "Deliverance" but released in a 6-month gap due to marketing purposes. All songs in Deliverance are Heavy AF, while Damnation is more mellow with all the songs having clean vocals. I highly recommend listening to the entire album. It's very emotional album and my second favorite album by Opeth next to Blackwater Park.
Hope Leaves is my favorite Opeth song, and I kind of jumped at her mention of it. I hope to see her react to it sometime!

This is in a nutshell who these guys are. Pure love for music. Doesn't matter if they have to play it in a stadium or in a frickin' recordstore. They (Mikael in particular) just love to interact with people who love their music.
If I remember right, this was at the Newbury Comics in my hometown just a few weeks after I moved to another state. I've held a resentment toward them for over a decade because of this.
As everyone mentioned in the comments, Damnation is the album !! You already reacted to "Windowpane" and " Death Whispered a lullaby". Please do consider "Hope Leaves", "In My Time of Need " or "To rid the disease "

I looked it up. They played Credence, Hope Leaves, Atonement, Häxprocess and Demon of the Fall. I think it's all good.
You have to check Hope Leaves, from both album version and the one they play is this same place.
I'm sure everyone will point this out, but the entire "Damnation" album is acoustic (or at least, clean vocals....it's not "purely" acoustic). You'll probably research it, but it's basically a counter-album to "Deliverance," which I always thought was such a cool concept. And those albums are relatively old! You can tell Opeth always had a soft spot for softer music as well as the hard stuff!

Glad you liked this, I remember when I first discovered this performance I was really intrigued, and while there is a certain novelty to it, I’ll take the original anyday, the intensity of the heavily distorted guitars, the pace, the growls, you just know that was the original intent behind the song, for it to be a monstrous, intense experience.
But this show was pretty cool, you haven’t heard it yet but I really liked their performance of “Credence” from this “show”. I actually prefer that version to the album version, this entire set is worth checking out if you have the time.
I hope in your search for music, you find bands that have enough impact on you that as you collect their library, you find amazing sessions like this.
Mocha just wanted to check out keyboard guy. This sounded great! I love it when bands do stuff like this. To me, it shows they aren't too big for their britches. : )

When sung like this, this song lacks a vocal melody. It's pretty much the same note the whole time, right? I'll give you that. Otherwise, love it. :)
It’s so great when a well-known band plays a store like this. And depending on the band, I am so jealous of the people that got to attend. It is nice that these performances sometimes get posted to RUclips though. 😁
@@MusicCatsandCoffee That's the only thing negative about this version. The growl doesn't have a melody so it make sense tho. I do prefer the heavier version but I'm happy this one exist too. They played this version when they toured for the Heritage record, it was a nice addition to the setlist.
@@MusicCatsandCoffee Yes! Although it’s nice that they did a different version of this, it feels a bit lazy (and not in pitch) in the vocal melody apartment. Not eeeverything they do is the best thing ever. 😄
