Back when Tristan didn't sell his channel out and remove the truly informative videos but hey he got his 2+ million subs.
We need a separate channel for vocal lessons
He didn’t sell out. He did something REALLY SMART. He attracted people who became true fans and he had fun with his videos for a while. It kept people watching and gained traction. Once he was well established with his fan base he started to make more informative videos again, which still gets tons of views because of those entertaining videos. He was noticed. There’s nothing wrong with that. He’s stepped back from the “fun” in recent years. He’s great. Go watch more of his videos if you disagree.
He essentially revolutionized the industry. Vocal coaching being popular on RUclips is essentially because of Tristan.

Hi man, I was rewatching this old video and the description reminds me a lot the curbing description in the CVT App: the moaning man, the slight hold, the balance between neutral and overdrive. Could it be that the "Bieber" sound is mainly, in the end, curbing ? :)

Vocal messiah i need the rest of your videos. The placement video with visuals of bright dark mixed chest etc. Was so damn epic, one viewing had me from f2 to whistle tone with no effort or strain. Falsetto is different from mix... try this one, pick a note from your chest voice and ascend to your range at least up to C5 without straining or breaking into an airy voice, if you can do that, you're in a coordination that is called mixed voice.. but if you break into falsetto you're not in mix.. 😊😊💜

+Santi SIB Iraburu If we're talking about effects like distortion.. then yes. Distortion is potentially damaging and is a fairly advanced effect.
But style is different! No matter how you're learning, you're practicing a certain style. If you want to learn opera, you'll practice within an operatic style. If you want to learn musical theater, you'll practice within a musical theater style. Likewise, if you want to learn to sing contemporary pop, practice within the style =).
There's nothing wrong with taking it slow, learning it piece by piece, not pushing your voice too far, and all that! No reason to jump in and try and force yourself to do something you're not ready for! But it's really beneficial for the voice to sing a little bit of everything =)

Maybe your levels are off. Or maybe you're just not used to the way your voice actually sounds. I used to hate the way my voice sounded when I heard it recorded it. But after recording yourself for a while you'll get used to it and be able to listen to it a little more objectively.

Ah I see. So in the context of a pop song try keeping that "ew" position and singing through it without changing the size of your mouth.

BTW Tristan! You should grow your mix voice... because you learned to transition from chest V to head V.. i swear you'll be belting all day
Tristan I think the EW exercises actually got me discovering my mix! Now I comfortable with singing on the higher register with mix and not using airy head voice. Best part I think the mix voice has a lot more resonance and makes my voice sound better.
All speculation at this point hopefully I can take up one of your lessons later. I think now I don't want to be overwhelmed so I am not gonna go for belting (maybe practice trills a bit) but mainly i need to practice hitting the pitch.
