    You have such a great attitude, its so right that what matters is putting in a good effort and doing the best you can for you, I'm sure everyone around you is super proud of how hard you've worked to get to where you are. Very wise of you to view it that way I must say. I worked for a bit as a 1 on 1 TA for a 7 yo with FAS and you've given me so much hope for his future, I can only hope that he learns to take his challenges in his stride like you do 🥰

    Because alcohol is legal, people think it's not a harmful drug. But it's one of the most harmful of all legal or illegal drugs and women drinking alcohol and damaging their babies while still in the womb is one of the most heartbreaking effects. Why do these women do it? Surely they must've known during their pregnancy that alcohol is a no go yet still drank? In many cases mental illnesses must account for this behaviour. Whatever the explanation, this young woman's openness and positivity is inspiring. All the best to her.

    • @ozlemsuleyman9760
      @ozlemsuleyman9760 6 месяцев назад +1

      I took a course on this, and I want to add that consuming alcohol is more dangerous than taking drugs while pregnant. The damages are permanent with alcohol, but the damages of drugs can last for years but they eventually are out of the child's body. I do not encourage women to take drugs while they are pregnant. I am only mentioning this comment to show how alcohol is the worst thing a pregnant woman can consume. Unfortunately, the children suffer the consequences.

    • @heiltd1286
      @heiltd1286 6 месяцев назад +1

      When crack cocaine use became rife in certain communities in the USA in the late 80s and then in the UK, it was projected that there'd be numerous 'crack babies' born to crack cocaine addict mothers. These children would suffer from permanent intellectual and personality impairment that would result in their being disadvantaged in employment and prone to criminality. These fears never materialised. For sure a pregnant woman doing crack cocaine isn't doing her unborn child any favours, but the damage done is insignificant compared to that done were she to regularly drink alcohol.

      Don't smoke pot while your pregnant either! My niece did that. And the results are not good. An eight-year-old who behaves like a scatterbrained five-year-old. And the results are going to get worse as she gets older. Because her younger brother is going to outsmart her in a few years and then leave her behind even though he's quite a bit younger. Think about how bad she'll feel that her much younger brother is smarter than her. Do not smoke pot while you're pregnant!! Just a little FYI

      @@ashleysanford8645 yes! My mother drank alcohol and smoke cigarettes when she was pregnant with me and my brother (i wouldn't be surprised if she smoked weed too) and while we were lucky enough to be soared facial deformities we were both left shorter than the rest of the family, me with a sensitivity to alcohol, ADHD, autism and dysgraphia. My younger brother from another mother both outgrew and outsmarted me when I was 15 and he was 12. To this day at age 20 i suffer from inferiority being the dumbest in the family despite not being the youngest.
      A little story, i was at a bar with some friends and i saw a pregnant lady with a cocktail and i had to go outside to process it. I was so angry and so upset at what I saw because there's no excuse to drinking while pregnant

    I don’t get it either. I ate a vodka pasta while pregnant and cried for two hours after because I was convinced it would hurt our baby, it took my poor husband hours to console me (our son is completely fine). I get if you have a problem and then find out you’re pregnant, but I wish those women would go to an OB and explain their situation. At least in the US every OB office I’ve ever been to has resources for mothers who are addicted to something. I’m sure there’s doctors who would judge which is sad, but most providers I know would be so grateful if a pregnant woman with an issue like that sought help early and be so happy to help

    And it really sucks that you and me. Both with fasd have a life expectancy of only 34 years old. I'm turning 32 next month and I'm thinking like. Fuck it might as well get drunk every night seeing as I'm going to die anyway but I don't want to do that on the slimmest hope it turns out not to be correct. Honestly I'm terrified. 😢😢

    • @EleonorS
      @EleonorS 12 дней назад

      It's not like you're suddenly going to drop d£ad the second you turn 34. From what I've learned the shorter life expectancy for People with FAS/FASD is largely due to external factors like su!cide, not eating or sleeping well, using drugs, smoking cigarettes or drinking too much alcohol. This means that if you try to make healthier choices, you can likely effect your life expectancy (goes for all of us, really). Wish you all the best!

My daughter is 10 months old perfect and beautiful. It’s more than likely with stopping that early on your baby will be fine :) and mama we can’t prevent what we don’t know.
