john s Indeed. His vocals on this album are unparalleled to any other vocalist. CG's sound for this album was truly heinous.
Are you kidding me? The lead singer of Cattle Decapitations vocal range and skills murder this guy and i even think he is good.
Dude from Cattle Decap sounds like 98% of every Death Metal vocalist I've heard. The only significant difference from what he offers is his rough open chord vocals when he isn't actually doing lows.

This CG sounds heavier. It's not the chugging or breakdowns, but the riffs that we hear. It has a heavier and more evil sound that I enjoy.

Unpopular opinion: I love how this album was more guitar-solo driven instead of putting a breakdown in every song, granted the breakdown in this masterpiece was legendary!
After a while the same stuff gets boring, a decade of listening to metalcore and genres alike and I've come to just enjoy the songs that have a better flow and give me goosebumps instead of overproduced crap. You can easily make heavy music sound bad and repetitive and I think that's a challenge most new bands face, they have big shoes to fill for the notable bands that broke up/fell off over time

I play football, basketball and baseball I'm 6'4 and I listen to this kind of music. I love seeing bands like this live you just get all your energy out. I'm rarely angry I just like it, idk how to explain it. I'm satisfied with life and I am not a "hate" type of person.
I think we should officially nominate this as the official national deathcore anthem. It's been over a a decade and still sounds so fresh. Could be released today and people would lose their minds still. This and Suicide Silence "the cleansing" will never be rivaled. (ok maybe Possesions by Whitechapel, but not quite)
Definitely, this is one of the best deathcore songs imo from my memory. I am not really a fan of new deathcore i think the mixes are weak over produced crap... the guitars have no balls, drums are fake, with the vocals having to hard carry

First time I ever listened to Chelsea Grin was at Warped Tour and they played songs from this album. That's when I became a fan. After their set I bought this CD and have been listening ever since.

Theses lyrics. Why have I not read them before. It resonates so deeply with me. The relatability. Sitting there in your darkest times. Thinking wishing lost inside the hell inside your head. The hell that you have created. This is a good jam. I lole it alot. First time hearing it. I can hear the pain. The agony. I love it.

Takes me right back to when I first heard this in my early teens (I am 26 now). CG is probably one of the first bands that I heard that made me want to buy a 7 string. Still slaps as hard as it did when I first heard it back in 2011!
THIS will always be their best album. Not Desolation of Eden, and not their first EP. This is so raw and heavy. The breakdowns in this album are insane, and his vocals are crazy good.
Yeah, this actually does make me feel better when I'm having a rough day. For me music says everything I want to say, and probably shouldn't. It proves to me that I'm not alone in my frustration. Its a very positive way to get aggression out. Cause y'know, you can't just kill someone every time someone pisses you off.

The most brutal album I've ever heard. Something about the melancholy melodies, Alex's shrill voice, and the mix that just makes it all sound so menacing and terrifying. It'd be incredible to see Alex do this type of record again with his new crew.
His high-pitched voice sounds so demonic.
We all have our own reasons, but I listen to this music because of the intense emotion behind it. Plus Chelsea Grin is badass.

I saw Chelsea Grin when they came to Australia a few weeks ago and this song was amazing live. I'd go so far as to say I enjoyed their entire set immensely and they were by far the best on stage. I can't understand why anyone would say otherwise but I guess we are all entitled to an opinion and I most definitely stand by mine ^.^

Makes me SO happy knowing that this album was recorded in my hometown of Ogden, Utah. This Chelsea Grin will forever be my favorite. So fucking sinister, deliciously executed and just a blast to listen to, even all these years later. I’ll never forget seeing them live at In The Venue in SLC and before playing this song Alex dedicated it to his dad and then they completely dismantled the entire place. Good fucking times 🤘🏻

The Greatest vocalist ever to create the band Chelsea Grin. This album with this song was by far my favorite next to the previous ones before this one and the last one ever made was Self Inflicted the greatest albums spanning from the creation 2k7 through 2k16 the greatest

It took a looooong time to get used to his new singing style from Desolation of Eden but I finally love it and can't wait to hear what the new album has in store! I hope there are more clean vocals like on Evolve. Really digging their risk at experimenting and their versatility. Love live CG!
That might MAY have been part of it but it is not confirmed that is the reason. In an interview he stated that he was losing his voice a lot and his throat was hurting because he was screaming/growling incorrectly.
I think they are trying different vocal styles. Either way, I said it wasn't completely confirmed why that was why it changed but I'm sure it could have been part of the reason.
Jay Scherbring he sounds different in all of the songs from this album
If he uses the style on Lilith, that would work, don't ask don't tell wasn't that great imo. The cleans sort of killed the brutality. everything else was amazing about that song.
Chris Crowe he changed the style so he was able to be understoood this syle takes alot less jaw movement then the old one
