Huge props to Old Man Mountain for putting users ahead of their own self-interest . I find it really annoying having company's logos all over my bags/panniers/etc.
Definitely! I also love how those bags tick the boxes -- waterproof, no pointless pockets, no assumptions about rack size. I saw a pair at Eurobike last year, and wish I had offered cash on closing day just to have them all this time.
Fantastic job in your choice of products to showcase. Crazy stuff might be cool and interesting, but so many people cover all that while overlooking the useful stuff that people actually might want.
That Hike-a-Bike Harness is an ace idea. I know a few trails where it would come in dead handy. In fact, just having it there on the top tube "just-in-case" looks like a decent idea to me. I get sick of shouldering a bike very fast. Cheers
I love this !! I have disc brakes a couple Shimano and a few low end ones and a pair of Hydro ones but not mounted. i'm all 90's and v-brakes or cantis. Eagle claw Koolstops forever!!!
Great video, just super reccomend having a lower third overlay so we can know who to search up if we're at all interested in the products displayed. Right now it feels like a game of ispy to find out what to Google.
Russ is becoming a bit of a silver fox! A man after my own heart! The first thing I thought when I heard about the Restrap hike-a-bike harness was that it would be great for the Arizona Trail, so great to hear that they thought the same thing. The OMM Basket being bolt on rather than the usual zip-tie-on has me stoked. And I feel like Caedero are making the best bikepacking bags out there right now. Super cool stuff! Finally, that Wolf Tooth Dropper remote blew my mind!
My first helmet was a Bell Ovation. It was a softshell helmet with a really thin plastic layer glued to the outside. The plastic was thin, like a plastic soda bottle. I suppose it might have helped with sliding resistance in a crash, but I bought it because it was on clearance for $25 in the Nashbar catalog and I thought the plastic would make it more durable when carrying and storing it while not riding. Glad to hear Kool-Stop is still around, I bought their brake pads for all our bikes with rim brakes and they are fantastic.
Awesome interviews and a very informative video. I will look into Kool Stop pads for a rim brake bike I'm redoing and that aluminum front basket looked cool for grocery shopping. Thanks for keeping it real.
The "Bumper Bar" is awesome for us that use integrated handlebars on our mtb 😱 How amazing is such design replacing/adding spacer!!! Congrats, guys 🤙🏻🍀🚲
I really liked the gusseted zipper idea, I've had sooo many things that COULD fit into a pack....ifn I could get it in there from a non-ideal angle (like with side-entry bags on drop bars) Also, props for the Ed-TV style coozie on a lanyard, LOL
Very interesting coverage. You are an excellent interviewer and video journalist, well with whoever was holding the camera. Also, thanks to the tripod as well, I guess. At some point, somehow, somewhere, please cover Box Components, esp. Prime 9.
SUPER PROPS TO BELL HELMETS.... The only name brand helmet to offer mid-level+ helmets WITH A VISOR!!! (I ride when the sun it out. Sunglasses DO NOT BLOCK THE SUN).
Not sure that last rack (Spider rack?) will work on ‘any bike’. The seat stays on the demo bike aren’t very steep. A bike with more vertical seat stays is going to mean that platform leans massively backwards. Couldn’t see any way to rotate the platform, but I might be wrong.
If Chris King cared about sustainability and recycling, they wouldn't have dropped support for their older hubs. Anything older than current Boost MTB hubs has no parts availability. I had to replace a wheelset due to lack of parts for my ISO135 hubs, couldn't convert them even to 142 rear, etc. Eat sand, CK.
Yes, and the spokesman stating how “sustainable “ Chris King is….” Recycling their cutting oil in the machine shop”…that’s been happening everywhere, forever, it’s in their best interest $$$ wise, duh.
Yeah I’m also looking for more CK support for the non boost hubs they seemingly abandoned despite their lip service to forever support. I will need axle conversion options for large diameter QR to thru axle and 15mm to 12mm, and probably from non boost to boost spacing some day. The aftermarket adapters out there look a bit sketchy

Thanks for featuring smaller companies, that pay attention to many cool details that can make a ride better.
Best wishes.
Thank you for visiting the stand - it was lovely to meet you both :)
Well done ! You guys made the top Sea Otter product video by far this year 👍
Happy owner of Wera tools. Its awesome, worth every penny.
Fantastic job in your choice of products to showcase. Crazy stuff might be cool and interesting, but so many people cover all that while overlooking the useful stuff that people actually might want.
Literally the best video from Sea Otter! Thank you for highlighting this new gear :)!
So glad we have this kind of content, thanks Russ!!
chapters with company names pls :) keep up the good reporting
Superb as ever, concise and factual and a distinct lack of sycophancy!
Yes!!! The Sea Otter video I've been waiting for!
This video just sold a set of Wera Hex Plus alan wrenches to me. Thanks for the info.
Watched the vid and promptly looked up Ripton & Co.
Denim FTW!
Nice, performance denim stuff from 9:28. Always into the casual cruising stuff like that.
Yup! Ripton makes awesome stuff!
those wera wrenches are awesome. expensive, but worth it.

Great video, Russ. I'm now looking into the "Altangle Hanger Connect" for my apartment.
I love this !! I have disc brakes a couple Shimano and a few low end ones and a pair of Hydro ones but not mounted. i'm all 90's and v-brakes or cantis. Eagle claw Koolstops forever!!!
Very well done! This was so good.

Well done, Russ. Some thoughtful introductions. Unexpectedly good audio as well.
I will be getting me one of them OMM baskets for sure!

Great job. Awesome new gear out there.
Such a great collection of gear thank you. Many new tabs open over here.
Great video, very interesting stuf!!
Wow so much great content! Video went by so fast needed to watch it again. Thanks Russ for all the amazing investigation

Great stuff! Realy nice to see the not so main stream things!
Some really cool stuff coming out right. Thanks for the sneak peek Russ.
Leave it to Old Man Mountain (leader in bombproof racks) to come up with MOLLE-compatible gear.
Great video I have to say and nice to actually see more information on smaller products not just flas bikes. Nice ine

Thanks for keeping it real.
Tight video again!
Hope 'thesupplelife' stickers will get back in store again, greetz!
RUS!!! I had that Bell V-1 Pro! I completely forgot 🤘😳🤘 time travel.
That restrap stuff is cool thanks for pointing it out
The "Bumper Bar" is awesome for us that use integrated handlebars on our mtb 😱 How amazing is such design replacing/adding spacer!!! Congrats, guys 🤙🏻🍀🚲
awesome stuff!
I was just shopping for Kool Stop brake pads and I was so excited to see blue canti brake pads! Also keep up the good work. I enjoy your content. 🤘
4:14 that Bell guy has a top shirt 😊
Bell V1Pro was my SECOND helmet. :) First was OGK's knockoff of the Bell Tourlite, the SH-303.
Oh man, you covered such great stuff... I just knew you would!!!
stuff I wanna see 😎 Thanks! 👍
Interestingly I have only seen flat pedals with some kind of lights or reflectors. I would like a clipless pedal with light too.
im sure its coming down the line but flats were obv easier to design and get to market

You might check out a cycling cap
@@whatthehoeck Yeah, because nothing screams 'comfort' like wearing a cap under a helmet mid-summer. What an absolute stupid thing to say..
@@whatthehoeckto be fair a cycling cap isn’t necessarily the most comfortable in the heat
Cool stuff 😎 thanks 🙏🏻
Best video about Sea otter festival by far
Best comment.....our rims are revolutionary. Yup, gotta agree with that.
Looking forward to the next videos.
Cheers.
Good to see someone else bringing whiskey on their bike pack trip!
Thanks for covering the stuff non-roadies care about.
Even as a performance oriented roadie, I loved these! Most of these are non-aero (urghh!) but look how smart, practical and sustainable they are!
Yeah! I'm roadie getting into gravel
Not a lot of aero in cycling uphill in the mud :D
Russ: thanks for your great reporting. Your videographer def. has the touch also.

KoolStop...the business in brake pads, simply superb....Rim brakes forever...lol
“It’s lighter than the V-1 pro.”
I’m sure I’ve had bikes that were lighter than the V1 Pro.
How do I find the All Angle Bike Stand please? ❤😁
Off topic but what steel gravel bikes are most supple iny? Marin, Kona, etc?
Assuming you are talking about a rigid frame+fork, suppleness has far more to do with tire choice and pressure than anything else
Please add chapters for each brand!
Wow. There sure are a lot of people out there busting their brains to come up with that neat new accessory that you just can't live without!
Hex Plus needs to become the world standard.
hey russ what shades are those? p stylish!
High Tech Jorts: best in show!
Has anyone used the San Util frame bag?
3:16 I wear a camouflage straw hat. Nobody can see me.
Who makes the awesome stretch denim?
Ripton Co! They're amazing, highly recommend!
Digging that denim coat, probably pricey.
$150 not cheap but not crazy crazy
I did have a mouse chew through my bike bag. I guess he was trying to stay warm.
So many ideas...
Bad news...I actually remember holding that Bell helmet model way back when...
Gadget lust ensueth.
Anybody know the flannel shirt on the guy at 3:30?
Topo Designs with Dklein EBD lapel pin
Give me one of each! 😂
Off season George Kittle @12:00

I'm I the only one who thinks a camouflage bikehelmet is kinda stupid? You want to be protected and seen on the road/trails to avoid collisions.
I think there are far worse things and more probable things than a camo helmet that causes collisions.
Those bike backpack straps are only going to work if you pull you pedal
If the vans brake pads last as short as their shoes, stay faaar away....
Chris King Co. 🫡 How long did you hang out with Cedaero and check out bags? Nice selection and styles.
