I start screaming at my GPS and cussing her out, calling her names. I THINK I KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF MY OWN DRIVEWAY! Now I don't turn on directions until I'm close.
I have lived in Tornado Alley (KS, OK, TX) all my life, and have a really healthy respect for these deadly beasts. Of the all chasers I have watched on YT, you are the only one I'm impressed with...A LOT. You're cool, calm, collected, and you have *brainz!* Best of all, you stop and assist! Thank you! You are also the only chaser I will subscribe to.
You are my favorite storm chaser/spotter because instead of freaking out, you actually report the storm. I particularly love listening to the SKYWARN nets as you are spotting! Thank you sir!
From watching many different storm chasers' videos, I've come to the conclusion that the ones who remain calm and level headed are most likely trained "First Responders"...they are safety minded and they are quick to inform, assess and assist at any given moment!
haha, there are a few different kinds of storm chasers for sure. The ones who scream holy shit, look at that, over and over again, and those who are legitimately trying to help others.
Daniel here is a qualified medic. He's done first responder training with some of the best guys in Austrailia. :) Trust me on this, if Daniel comes to your door, doing search and rescue. You will be in very skilled hands.
I really appreciate how you explain how and where a tornado is going to form. I grew up hearing horror stories from my Mom about the tornado that destroyed her childhood home and now I am terrified when I see storm clouds. Watching your videos has given me a better understanding so for that I say thank you!
I’ve recently been obsessed with tornadoes and I have to give you so much credit for truly catching some of the most incredible storms I’ve seen in my life. I also appreciate that you stop and make sure everyone is ok if a storm does damage to buildings and the calm way you remind yourself to be careful. Amazing work and thank you for keeping us informed and safe during these devastating storms. God bless you!
Eh, this is a very small tornado, really. Not to be messed with, no, but...very small compared to the ones I've (unintentionally!) gotten caught in. Scary stuff when you can't run.
Great work! Saw you out there on the side of the road near Pomeroy shortly before it produced. Wanted to stop and say hey, but didn't want to interrupt your chase or mine!
I've never seen your channel before and I apologize. Great footage. Are you the same guy that I see Pecos Hank talking to and about. Awesome footage and great calmness. I really enjoyed the video. Awesome job of showing everything and explaining what is got on.
You think lol it must be annoying when u know your in a tornado chase and get reminded u in a twisting storm xxxx keep the videos coming xxxx I live in the UK and love what u do xxxx
I recently started watching tornado videos and subbed to your channel here. I have had recurring dreams for years and years and years about being smack in the middle of seven on the ground tornados and while the dreams are technically different every time, it's always seven of them and I'm always trying to save my mom and son. I'm from Georgia and while we do get tornadoes its not like this. We live in a very hilly area and can't see them from miles off like this so getting to come to yt and actually see them is amazing. Ty for the videos. Stay safe.
Wow this was super scary but you are doing a damn good job of trying to save as many lives as you possibly can. I have utmost respect for you and the choices you’ve made in your life. Thank you Daniel ~~ you are awesome
Twisters fascinate and terrify me. Nice vid. mad to think, a twister 1.3 times the diameter of the earth has been raging on Jupiter for circa 300 years with wind speeds of 270-425 mph 😱
Okay yup, this must be the system that pushed through Estherville. I was simply in the bedroom when I heard the emergency alert system. I usually know better, but everything seemed clear, I had the window cracked... And then... The wind was very strong. I rushed to the window and locked it as fast as could and then I unplugged my electronics and dashed towards the bathroom with my phone (single story house). I knew that there'd been some sort of touchdown close, because our neighbors had a tree fall on their house! Definitely at least the same system, if not an actual tornado. I know that winds themselves can be damaging, but given the fact that the trees on and near our property are very thick and deep rooted very much concerned me at the time and this footage proves that it became way more of a danger than it was even to us. So, uhm, I'll give you a belated wave, Daniel. Glad you are safe and sound and trying to keep people safe and updated. Thanks for updating this. I think my region of Iowa is pretty much done with really severe weather it seems but I don't want to jinx us right now. It's mainly been very hot...and this comes from a guy born and raised in the DFW area in Texas... Yikes. The humidity has been terrible, though. Maybe it's just me.
I would love a class on this! Spotting differences in RFD vs the funnel, how to hell wedge from rain wrapped, most useful type of first responder training for chacing- you know, the stuff you'd only gather from years of experience!!!
You guys are unbelievable how come you named it dominator the tank . … I’m scared of a little tailwind when my head is out the car window on a nice day …
Would it be of any benefit to have your vehicles marked? We got signs for our ham radio cars. They are really thick rubber with our ham info on them. They are magnetic so that you can put them on your car and then peel them off when you no longer use them for your car. It helped a lot to keep other people informed as to what we were doing.
Jealous of storm chasers. I've always wanted ha job like this and not just as a hoby. I'm glad there are men like this chaser out there ready to help with search and rescue at a moment's notice.
You know all you can do is grab a camera and start snapping some shots and record away 😎 (I'm gonna go tornado hunting and paranormal hunting sometime soon)
I scrolled through the comments, but didn't see this mentioned....Dan must be quite famous over there in the Chaser/Spotter community...The radio referenced Dan's callsign VK2FSRV, advising him to connect to US750...Dan responds that he is, and then someone calls him out by name, saying 'Welcome Back'! The exchange starts at around 1:58, interrupting the much loved "You are approaching a twisting storm" :P
I don't understand why storm chaser don't carry a padded protective cover with them when hail starts coming. Park, use the cover, and wait it out. Film outside the side windows. Idk, maybe I'm missing something as to why they don't?
Sir Daniel is N.America's personal Aussie-(Australian) storm chaser 😎 [we need more like him from AUS, SCT, WLS, IRE/NIR, and UK/GB/ENG to come over to chase storms]
I cannot imagine living in an area where I would be constantly be on edge every time a thunderstorm ⛈ hits, knowing it could turn into a 🌪. Those of you who do have balls/eggs of steel.
What an insane adventure! It’s crazy how things can change so fast during these storms. o__o Can’t imagine anything more terrifying than a rain-wrapped tornado other than perhaps one at night.
Great job dude!
When do we get a compilation of you and Daniel together? You two are two peas in a pod. A pleasure watching you both.
Oh hi Pecos. How many tornados have you seen so far this year?
Will u be posting some new videos soon as love yours 2 xxxx and u a lovely man helping animals aswell xxxxx
You 2 should link up and chase a tornado together. I know you have your science team but would be fun for a live Shaw & Hank chase.
@Pecos Hank where've you been, dude?!?
I love how Daniel says “You think?!” to the “twisting storm” notification. I’d probably do the same thing 🤣
The sarcasm is real lol I'm exactly the same way lol
Haha before he even said it the first words out of my mouth were :You think?" I think all of us would shake our heads laugh and say the same thing.
Ya that was hilarious.
I start screaming at my GPS and cussing her out, calling her names. I THINK I KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF MY OWN DRIVEWAY! Now I don't turn on directions until I'm close.
I know I would. :)

Always a pleasure when you upload an unedited chase, it feels like I am in the Rav4 with you. Keep up the great work Sir and stay safe!
From watching many different storm chasers' videos, I've come to the conclusion that the ones who remain calm and level headed are most likely trained "First Responders"...they are safety minded and they are quick to inform, assess and assist at any given moment!
The ones that scream and yell and repeat the same thing over and over again are the ones I don’t like.
“Twisterete syndrome” -Pecos Hank
He's really good.
haha, there are a few different kinds of storm chasers for sure. The ones who scream holy shit, look at that, over and over again, and those who are legitimately trying to help others.

I'd be going to help
I'm more or less in the same boat. albeit for different reasons.
I missed this type of raw/unedited footage! Great chase Daniel!
I’ve recently been obsessed with tornadoes and I have to give you so much credit for truly catching some of the most incredible storms I’ve seen in my life. You make the best storm spotting footage out there.
"You came with a chainsaw?"
"Don't ask."
😂
I have such ptsd over tornados... but I always always want to see your work Daniel. I've learned so much from you!
I hope you are doing well :)
The raw editing is sooo good. Great chase Daniel.
This was exciting to watch Daniel. Thank you. Stay safe
Love how simple you make such a complicated process. Thank you, very courageous
Love the Warning " Danger You're Approaching Rotating Storm" Daniels Reply "YOU THINK??" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is that broadcast on Ham radio on a skywarn network?
This was on my Birthday, I love getting tornado videos for my birthday Thank you Daniel 😊
I literally stumbled upon this channel when lookin at tornado vids. this is the most legit and real view of these twisters. i Love it.
Daniel May God Keep you safe and Thank you for all your hard work Documenting these storms
Thanks!
So fascinating and scary at the same time! Thanks for sharing!
From Sydney Australia, I simply can't get my head around the scale of these storms. So much energy it's mindblowing!
Eh, this is a very small tornado, really. Not to be messed with, no, but...very small compared to the ones I've (unintentionally!) gotten caught in. Scary stuff when you can't run.
Daniel you deserve more followers! Respect your work. Happy Chasing in 2023.
Daniel and his chainsaw... that is so kickass! Way to go Mr. Daniel!
Sounds like a children's book about being a hero and helping your fellow man!
Great work! Saw you out there on the side of the road near Pomeroy shortly before it produced.
Wanted to stop and say hey, but didn't want to interrupt your chase or mine!

Excellent footage. I've learned a lot by watching because you explain what's happening.
Appreciate the hard work & be safe
Not sure if you realized at the time, but you were approaching a twisting storm. Please exercise caution!
You're the best Daniel. Thank you for all the hard work you do sir. Hopefully one day I can visit your beautiful homeland!

I feel like I’m in the car with you every single time I watch one of your videos! So much fun :D
It's the "You brought a chainsaw?" "Yep, don't ask" for me lmaoo
I remember this day. Drove from Des Moines to Iowa City during this. Was the scariest 2 hours of my life!
It's amazing to watch your live streams and catch these bad boys touching down live with you!
New subscriber! This is just riveting! Thanks for uploading!
Awesome work! Looking forward to seeing you out there 2023!
-Mike D
Intense chase, pretty epic day it was! Great CG capture at the end :)
Mary Poppin's bag has nothing on your kit! Who needs a lamp and a tape measure when you have an EMT kit and a chainsaw?! 😂🙌
Anyone else live to hear “You’re approaching a twisting storm, please, exercise caution.”?
Wow this was super scary but you are doing a damn good job of trying to save as many lives as you possibly can. I have utmost respect for you and the choices you’ve made in your life. Thank you Daniel ~~ you are awesome

@Pat Luxor Be specific or be quiet and move along. What is made up?
22:09 ya... it got REALLY rain wrapped REALLY quickly their
.
like someone was drawing the curtains on a stage play
Another great chase and video. Poor windshield took a pounding but it had a good run. It will be remembered.
Praying for the Families affected
Great footage. Especially at the start there it was a very picturesque stove pipe.
It was my 32nd birthday and was home in Iowa for it. All I asked was to storm chase so you can thank me for these tornadoes. Lol.
That was great, thoroughly enjoyed that 40 minute video, incredible footage.
“You’re approaching a twisting storm…”
You think?!
“…Please exercise caution.”
YOU THINK?!
😄
My response would be "No shit, Sherlock."
Super impressed Pecos Hank has sent his approval!
Thanks for tracking near us
Good to see you back chasing
I must say Dan, your the best out there. Hi from NSW. (and get some Rain X for your front window se we can see)
'you're approaching a twisting storm' voice reminds me of the people mover warnings at airports.

23 minutes in it seems to be playing hide and seek... Now that would terrify me as a chaser.
Also thanks for checking on my fellow Iowans and Texans this year. Keep it up, Daniel. Bless.
Windshield eating hail!
A wild start for your storm chasing season!
Some of the craziest rotation I've ever seen
Amazing!! Great footage!!
Excellent job
Great video I remember hearing about this one on the radio from Des Moines
how u see that tornado at 22:47 i just see grey 😒
Where does the "You are approaching a twisting storm, please exercise caution" come from? Is that the FM radio or a weather radio?
I would love a class on this! Spotting differences in RFD vs the funnel, how to hell wedge from rain wrapped, most useful type of first responder training for chacing- you know, the stuff you'd only gather from years of experience!!!
Check out Skip Talbot here on RUclips
if your ever chasing storms here in or close to branson mo. let me know I've always wanted to do a ride along . ive never seen a tornado in person
Can u tell me what's the start of tornado season and wen it finishes xxxx as would love to know
It’s usually between March and may but they can happen at a times during the year. In fact last year we had an outbreak in December.
Awesome chase buddy! Thanks!!
You guys are unbelievable how come you named it dominator the tank . …

That lightning storm was awesome.
What is telling him of the rotating storm proceed with caution. Is it an app, radio, some little guy that jumps up to alert him?
"You're Approaching A Twisting Storm." "Please Exercise Caution."
What program are you using that is giving you storm notifications that you are approaching a twisting storm?
What software or tech are they using that denotes "a twisting storm ahead. Please use caution"?
What do people use in there home to winning them that stom
Fantastic mate
Ole Daniel must of been a boy scout talk about be prepared with packing a chain saw good job man
Looks like he needs a 12v actuator for the Hail rack so he can deploy it from inside.

Rear flank downdraft.

“You’re approaching a twisting storm. Please exercise caution”!
very intense storm with all that lightning.
Brilliant! I loved it.
I’m new and I want to know what car you are in
I cannot imagine living in an area where I would be constantly be on edge every time a thunderstorm ⛈ hits, knowing it could turn into a 🌪. Those of you who do have balls/eggs of steel.
What an insane adventure! It’s crazy how things can change so fast during these storms. o__o Can’t imagine anything more terrifying than a rain-wrapped tornado other than perhaps one at night.
Always come with a chainsaw when storm chasing. Never know when you need it!
Great job!I ❤️ it!
Did he call his windshield a windscreen
why the gas stations have such a small roof? In an area with regular hase, they should have a hughe roof man.
The happiness in that guys voice when you said you had a chainsaw made my day!
What you need for a tornado chaser Chainsaw
This is an amazing film of the storm, but,I wouldn’t want to be out in it,or,around it!That’s for sure!
