@@preciousviolet2813 the things we take for granted…I’m telling you. But in all of this I believe God is working things out for our good. These disasters should hopefully draw out the better in us…to be more considerate towards others and bring unity. Yes, the cane juice was such a blessing 🥰♥️
Hey SIF. Sorry for your loss of food. Glad you weren't affected too much by Beryl, Next time you could get an Igloo Cooler or any brand Cooler and just try to get ice if possible and use that. But glad all's doing well other than the lack of power. Even in the U.S. after some of these types of storms, they take a long time for power to return. stay blessed.
Yes family. It was only after they started having rolling blackouts in the summer in Texas that I began to think of power alternatives. My children were young then and they were my number one concern. I had to push my husband concerning this. This was not something we could just talk about doing indefinitely. It’s very stressful being worried about the well being of your children. God is with us during our most difficult of times as well as during our easiest of times but we must be prepared for hard times ahead and must store up food, water, daily supplies, and alternative sources of power. Much love to you family. ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing your experience. We appreciate you. You make some good points. We should definitely start learning how to do canning 🙏 God bless you ♥️
Hate to burst your bubble but lived in JA for Gilbert. It was months before light came back. You can survive without the light. Thank God that JA was not affected by the full force.
Thanks for your comment. Thankfully light and water has been restored where we are. There’s still some other parts that are without power, water and internet. We’re hopeful that things will get back to normal within weeks rather than months. Blessings 🙏🇯🇲💯
Thank God your family survived the hurricane. You still have a roof over your head. The lesson to be learned from this disaster is to give God thanks for life. It is times like this that we should take our eyes off ourselves and look to help others who are less fortunate. Share whatever you have with other people, such as food, clothes, houseware goods and so on. This is what we do as a family and as a church family in these times. We need to live the Bible. I enjoy your vlogs but this one just seemed negative to me at this time when Jamaica and the other Caribbean islands are suffering so much. Not to forget Texas which also suffered from the hurricane. Blessings to you all.
Well, good morning y'all, Yes it's gonna be rough and difficult for a while, but it's good you have each other. The government and people in the services are working. Throughout the process, remember to thrust God. The East and all the South is VERY BAD, we'll need to do our small part to help in whatever way we can
@@nerrettewright249 good morning, thank you for your comment. You are right. We all have a part to play and can make a difference however small. Thankfully power came back for us now which makes things a lot easier. Others not yet. We’ve heard that St Elizabeth got it bad. We continue to pray 🙏

Hi family glad your all ok I think you neglected one important you are invested in your properties but one important specially will u return to live back home is always bring a generator as back up they are not that expensive few hundred pounds or if u have a relative in US they are cheaper up there it would run at least your fridge and light take care of
Unfortunatly some of us have evolved into humans that literally cannot servive hardship of nature. We are at a disadvantage quite frankly. I for one am haven become alergic to the sun and can over heat in the winter much less. 😢 what is happening to us?
Yeah you have a point. There were the days when our fore parents had no running water, no light, none of the amenities we have now and they didn’t complain. So I suppose, as we become more ‘advanced’ with technology, the more fragile we become 🥴 Thanks for your comment. God bless you ♥️🙏🇯🇲
The last big Hurricane that took down the power grid was Mr Gilbert and it took JPS 6-8 months to completely restore power! So hang on folks... you will be learning to live with it just like all the other rural Jamaicans! 👍
What tree heights.. Ja needs to start burying the poles in an underground system. Yes it's very very e pensive but just like the beautiful roads that are moving ppl better and for Ja to come out of the 3rd world status... this type of infrastructure is necessary to cross into a developed country.
Is solar a possibility in Jamaica? You have the sun but !😊 take care. May I suggest youtube: solar power with Will Prowse he test everything. Good luck. And I know your on a island...
I was wondering why you didn’t save all that ice you threw out. Could have put it in a cooler which would have lasted for at least a day or 2. Hope you didn’t lose too much
Honestly, we were rushing because winds were getting stronger and we didn’t have anything at hand to put it in 🙏 Most things spoiled that was in the fridge but we are thankful for life 😊♥️
What is beyond me is you own property for rent. So your customers would be baking in the rentals too? How come no one invested in solar energy or a generator to maybe power just lights and refrigeration ?
Thanks for your feedback. A number of our properties have solar. The ones without, there were no guests. So fortunately there were no guests baking from the heat 😊

Glad to see you and family are safe and well. The news said you have to call JPS and let them know the lines are down due to the trees in your area.
You need a generator. Also you can get a large cooler and place blocks of ice to keep your food from spoiling.

Jamaica needs to change regulations regarding maximum tree hights if they are near to power lines.
