11:13 is the Polar Express whistle - very close to Sierra #3, as it was recorded from for the movie. #3's whistle is actually a Lima 5 chime, but it sounds almost identical to this Nathan 5 chime.
Man, they used ET&WNC # 12 for sounds? GOTTA HAVE, for my On30 ET&WNC ten-wheelers, even though I already have factory sound in them. Now I just need to figure out how much work is needed to get this in place on them...
I have two PFM Southern PS4s and have purchased TCS Wow for them. Your's sounds amazing. I am going to be using "Boiler Barker" speakers. What speakers are you using? Where are they installed? Great video.
I have a question regarding the air pumps. I understand TCS has an air pump for a cab forward. Does it truly sound like one? Could you do a video on just the air pumps?
Need better speakers they are crackling with the horns or vibrating something. Could be better if the volumes were turned down before it crackles.Maybe?
Great video! My WOW Sound Version 4's chuff sounds like a crap. But watching your video yours sounds amazing and mine sounds nothing like yours. Any pointers to making your Chuff sound good on a WOW version 4?
There's quite a few different chuffs loaded on the Version 4 decoder that you can choose from, also the type of speaker will affect the bass and overall sound.
I saw you mention you used railmaster speakers, but what does your install look like? What model speaker did you use, how many did you use, and are you using the tender as a baffle?
Technically yes but you cannot control it. At most, (this is coming from the few times I run my Bachmann NS NKP heritage unit #8100 on dc) unless the decoder is programmed to blow the whistle/horn and maybe bell when beginning to move, you likely will never hear the bell or whistle.
"3 versions that alternate randomly". Ok, so three versions of quills for that one whistle setting? Does each whistle CV have that option of three different random quills? Sorry for all the questions. I just recently installed a Tsunami2 in one of my steamers. My first steam decoder custom install. I have several more to do and want to maybe experiment with a different decoder. Thank you.
Long time to reply, but no they do not have playable quills like you have on, say, a Paragon decoder The quills in the video (such as the fantastic ine fir the BC&G 3-chime) are all preset. That particular whistle has two of those quills and when you hit the button, it plays one and then the other when you hit it again. Most of the options are like that although some only have one quill while at least two have three
Love the video... one thing... Please... do not ever refer to Nickel Plate Road as "NPR" again... it's NKP, or NYC&St.L, nobody has ever called it "NPR" .. "NPR" means nothing in this context, it could mean Northern Pacific for all we know... Unless Northern Plains Railroad has a secret steam program I don't know about.
Those whistles are awesome! The ways you quilled them were astounding
Incredible.
Your demonstration diorama track reminds me of the texas state railroad for some reason... Everything in sight (loco included) looks stunning!!!
13:01 that prr 3 chime is killer, definitely my favorite on the list
Thanks for taking the time to post. These new chuffs are much better.

Wow that sounded awesome! Kinda prompts me to start looking for steam locomotives at train shows!
I plan on using that SP 5 chime on my Bachmann Russian decapod when I get TCS WOWsound into it.
17:06 is a mail box whistle I believe, there are very rare to find and hear.
Absolutely beautiful. Nice work.
Dang! Wish I had DCC for sound, hopefully soon, thanks for sharing
I love the whistle quills!
5:41 Tweetsie Railroad ET&WNC Whistle
I pulled the whistle at tweetsie before
Both of the reading 6 chimes were awesome. Just like 425 and 90
at 11:13 i heard a whistle from stand by me.
15:02 5:41 6:23 8:22 12:05 are some good whistles.
I love this model Pacific!

I like the Norfolk and Western Nathan 3 chained steam whistle
sounds great thanks for sharing
the cards are great but so are the speaker, very nice.
@BradleyDCC Could you do the all of the bells in a different video for TCS WOW steam? Thanks!
Beautiful 👍

I have not installed one in a Cab Forward so I'm not sure regarding the airpumps
8:06 That's a D51 Whistle
Ha! No.
Hey Bradley how much would you install step safety lighting. On my csx train.
Would you do a sound comparison like this with the Tsunami 2? Sure wish TCS had a T&P whistle like on the 610.
Best whistle is at 13:29 that RDG 6 chime sounds the best.
Thought i’d make a correction but the whistle at 13:30 is not a G2, but rather the 6 chime Strasburg 90 wears
That’s because that’s the whistle 90 wears?
@@TGM_2018_III yea
So it is a G2 whistle
Need better speakers they are crackling with the horns or vibrating something. Could be better if the volumes were turned down before it crackles.Maybe?
すばらしい!!!
Best whistle is at 10:00
what locomotive is that whistle from is it from the daylight or something else?
nice
What kinda speaker are you using ???
Need other details to like windshield wipers and step lighting
Are the different quills (eg: BC&G @ 6:23-7:15) pre-recorded, or are you "playing" the whistle to get those?
They are pre-recorded. Some have three different variations

There's quite a few different chuffs loaded on the Version 4 decoder that you can choose from, also the type of speaker will affect the bass and overall sound.
BradleyDCC Thanks. The chuff sounds good at slow speeds but at higher speeds the Chuff sounds all garbled messed up chuffing.
do you control the quill or does it do it automatic?
It's automatic and there are three variations
I saw you mention you used railmaster speakers, but what does your install look like? What model speaker did you use, how many did you use, and are you using the tender as a baffle?
Depends on the install, sometimes the tender can be an appropriate baffle IF it's sealed properly
Which one do you think suites a 1225 best
Definitely the Nathan 5 chime Lykens at 11:13
Super!
Do these have a cam input for timing the chuff?
They do have the option for adding a cam but one was not used in this install.
How did you get the echo. I can't figure it out on my tcs wow
Should be there by default
Wow. Im a tsunami guy but i just had a change of heart. The clarity and the ECHO is NOTHING to compare.
how do you switch between whistles? :I
Dose sound work on DC analog?
Technically yes but you cannot control it. At most, (this is coming from the few times I run my Bachmann NS NKP heritage unit #8100 on dc) unless the decoder is programmed to blow the whistle/horn and maybe bell when beginning to move, you likely will never hear the bell or whistle.
What kind of speaker are you using?
Railmaster High Bass
@@BradleyDCC which of their speakers specifically?
What decoder model is this?
TCS Wow101, I believe it's the new Version 4 files
BradleyDCC thank you!
Are the quills "playable" or do they change arbitrarily each time they are activated?
They are pre-set but there are 3 versions that alternate randomly.

cool.
What model is this?
I would really like to know the same thing... She is gorgeous and I want one
A Southern ps4 is the type of engine, and its probably brass.
What scale is this in?
HO
nicr

Apologies for the error! I was either referencing what TCS listed the whistle as or a major typo on my end!
@bradleydcc NPR! Nickle plate road. makes sense and who gives a F😅CK.
