I just found out about him and his work a few weeks ago, and I was utterly astonished by how similar he sounds with his dad! I’ve been a die hard Beatles fan just like my dad, even though we both don’t live in their era, I really really do wish he could continue to make music, the man certainly got what it takes and a lot more, he has a voice that haunts you once you’ve heard it, and that’s exactly the same as listening to Beatles, and I’m so glad someone who knows the story behind this song, it’s exactly what I was looking for!

Julian lives in his father's shadow and he knows it, but doesn't like it. I've seen so many interviews he's done, and his outlook on his father isn't that of fondness. I don't blame him one bit either. I can say this, he's a good singer/songwriter and entertainer, just like his dad. Now Sean on the other hand, he just doesn't have what it takes, like Julian does. The sad thing is you hear interviews with Sean and he talks about how much he worshiped Julien as his cool rockstar brother and how julien taught him guitar and how much he loves his brother and that they have never hated eachother (in Seans eyes) yet everyone wants to devide the two on the internet because of course they know the Lennon brother's personal history more than the two brothers.
Julian is nothing like John Lennon in character though. He's a real humanitarian, has a lot of his mum Cynthia's character and personality traits in him. A genuine, fairly humble guy really, a real credit to Cynthia and her memory. RIP Cynthia, and RIP John too, I love his music, but Julian has something else all of his own that he should be credited with more often. Definitely not living in the shadow of John at all, in my opinion. Very much his own person with a lot to be proud of. Keep rockin' it, Julian.

Tony, during a visitation time, I suppose, ran with Kyoko. At that point, Yoko told John that if she couldn't see her child, then, he couldn't see his. And, it was a done deal. John always sent gifts to Julian at the appropriate times, such as: birthdays, Christmas, etc. However, they weren't able to try to mend their relationship until John was away from Yoko, during the, "Long Weekend," which was actually 18 months. John spent that time in California, with former assistant, May Pang. But, when Yoko said it was the right time to come home, he went. She must have had some kind of "Hold on him." When Julian reached the age of 17, he and his father began to become closer, just months before John was shot and killed, just outside the Dakota Building, where he and Yoko lived, in New York. After John's passing, Julian asked Yoko for one of his father's guitars, which was one of Julian's favorites. Julian, sadly, walked away, empty-handed, for Yoko refused him. However, on a later visit, to see Sean, who was then 5 years old, Julian found him plunking around on the very guitar that was so special to Julian. May John R.I.P., in a much better place. Maybe, he and George, Cynthia, Maureen, and Linda are rocking on!

Yes, Julian has had to buy his father's possessions at auction...what a shame, and I doubt that John would've approved.
