It also sounded like Juliet was neglecting/abusing Mona in other ways too.
Taking her frustration and anger of the pressures she felt of everyday living on Mona as well... It wasn't mentioned directly but rather skated on instead. It probably took the form of verbal abuse blaming Mona for things etc.. that were certainly nothing to do with Mona.. There may have been some physical abuse as well i.e smacking Mona and locking her in a cupboard in an attempt to make her shut up. Juliet did mention her treatment of Mona was to get her to shut up...
Either way what Juliet did to Mona is NOT acceptable in anyway and I'm glad she was caught bang to rights and put in prison.

The hospital should've been calling 911 and CPS.. not texting SIL...I'm confused why they didn't and released that poor child?. also, if she's malnourished, on the verge of passing out due to starvation, how was she able to recover so quickly to be released?... why didn't anyone contact the proper authorities IMMEDIATELY?. this was one confusing story that made very little sense.

Juliet: Mona was acting like a SPOILED BRAT! I was ONLY discipline her and did what ANY parents would do!
Also Juliet: I DIDN'T MEAN FOR ANY OF THIS TO HAPPEN! ALL I DID WAS *STARVE* HER, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT!?
*MY GOD!* If I had a dollar for EVERY TIME a so called "Parent" makes up an excuse in defense of them abusing their own kids, I'd have MORE than two dollars! Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
But seriously, ANY parent that makes up excuses to DEFEND themselves as CHILD ABUSERS are *ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND HORRIBLE SCUMBAG MONSTERS!*
I've heard news reports about such heinous acts, to the point where the kids DIED from their parents' abuse!
FOR EXAMPLE, a boy died of DEHYDRATION and HEAT STROKE because his parents forced him to stand in the kitchen with NO AC OR WATER in the TEXAS HEAT! And a little girl died when her mom AND grandma forced her to carry a log and run around the house until she LITERATELY died of EXHAUSTION!
And the justice system thinks that these ABUSERS should get a LIGHTER SENTENCE, UNLESS OTHERWISE.... That's messed up and the reason WHY child abusers think they can get away with crimes like this!

The way I see it, Juliet being stressed out about doing everything herself was only one of the causes for her actions. Since it is clear she has a lot of pride. Since for her to feel embarassed from asking for help is obviously a result of such a thing.
Of course, there could be other factors. Such as how her parents had raised her or something similar. And no, I'm not trying to defend Juliet. Since what she did was straight up a crime and she deserves to be punished. It's just that she clearly was stressed out and felt that she would have been judged poorly for asking for help.

    • @mollygriffith5678
      @mollygriffith5678 11 месяцев назад +1

Staving a child is not a result of stress. Mom had others who would help. The aunt or grandparents would have helped. Withdrawal of food is not a form of punishment which should ever be used. This is malnourishment and severe dehydration not withdrawal of a treat. Blaming the aunt shows this mom’s true colors. By trying to hide her own guilt by not taking child to visit and lying about who was the child’s mom shows mom is more concerned about being caught then by what she had caused in her own child.

I absolutely hate when parents use the "you don't have any children" card, to try and justify their actions. My brother did the same to me when we had an argument about his daughter a few years ago.
The thing, is, out of the two of us, I'm the one who knows how to take care of kids, since I've done it most of my life, while he has not. Starting with my younger counsins, my younger siblings, etc. He only had 1 daughter for a year and a half at that point yet he assumes he knows more about child care then I do. He and his wife both seem to believe that having a child magically gives you all the knowledge, skills and experience of child raising of 30+ years. And even if you working with children, like my other brother does, don't make you knowledgable about kids if you don't have any yourself. As a result of that, their daughter is not having a good life right now, and we can't do much about it since they cut us off.
They also don't seem to question the fact that whenever my niece wanted something, hurt herself and wanted comfort, or any parental attention, she came to her grandmother, or her uncles (me and my other brother) instead of her parents. Even going so far as to try and shove her mother out of the way to get to her grandmother because she fell and was crying.
I absolutely hate parents like this, they don't even deserve to have children.

To say that the child will be confident enough in future to push the memories of her mother's behavior away is unrealistic in the extreme. She is going to need counselling for several years as she grows up so that when memories come to plague her she'll have someone objective to turn to. The kind of abuse she suffered brands any very young child deeply. It'd be nice if she could be strong enough to dismiss the memories herself, and I know her family will help her. But counselling from a neutral party is going to help much more than anyone might think. Please don't forget that.

As a wee youngster, I was malnourished too by my abusive father. After my mom took all three of her kids and divorced him (Go Mom!), I would cry over getting loaves of bread. Now I'm a little chubby ten years later!😅

Juliet acts like Mona was being spoiled & needed punishment & claims her husband acts childish at home yet she herself behaves like a stubborn child that refuses to do things anyone else's way(or even think of doing it their way) before lying so she doesn't get in trouble for not behaving like a big girl should. Juliet had a lot of people willing to listen to her struggles & help her care for Mona when things get too rough but her ego made her refuse & take things out on this poor child. Even though I don't think abuse should be a punishment in these stories I hope people in jail/prison find out what happened & make sure Juliet has a hard time getting a meal a few times to make her realize she fucked up. They probably stop after she gets the message(along with not doing it to much as they know the staff will get suspicious plus don't want to kill her even if the people wish they could kill her for abusing the child) but they also don't let her live down how she's here cause she tried to starve her daughter cause Juliet can't be a proper adult/parent to a preschooler.
I'm glad Mona is safe now & her dad was able to make things work so he can be there for her more often. I hope she isn't traumatized to much by Juliet's actions in the future, I'm guessing her family makes sure she gets therapy if needed when it eventually is needed.

It's a story people, not real life. Just a story but on you tube instead of a magazine or paperback book.

Time to tie/chain Juliet to a chair and make a feast of all the best foods for her to smell and see but never eat

On top of everything else, if the “discipline” was innocent and above board, why did she lie and say Mona wasn’t her child?

I kind of think that Juliet wasn't trying to be deliberately abusive. She needs to be punished and to have Mona taken away but I think she should also be given parenting classes and counseling. I've worked with foster care cases and I've seen true abuse. I didn't get the vibe that Juliet was truly evil. Just incompetent. And perhaps the OP should have reached out earlier to find out how Juliet was coping on her own.

This story is all the poignant as cases like this pop up more or less every day in the paper..
The big question to all this is "WHY"????!!!!
Once you become a mum your child MUST come first... Period...
I think every parent past and present has, at some point gone without food to make sure their children had a meal. I know I did.
But no matter how tough things got when my children were little I would gladly do it all over again. My kids are my world and my world is a better place because they share it with me.

I haven't seen the whole video yet and judging by the comments Juliet is a criminal but i would be annoyed if OP was persistent in going to my house despite being denied multiple times(and no this is not an excuse for Juliet just a comment)
