I also using this type of idea since 2017. I use 1000w ac regilator for my 650w high speed drill mashine also use this regulator for 850 w angle grinder.there is many work you can only do at low speed.but there is only one problem it reduces torque as well as .

What happens to the torque when tuned down to low speed, guess implying low voltage, will it still be able for drilling holes on metal sheet?
Hii, torque also decreases when it slows down, its required certain speed to drill holes.

Hii, if your drill machine is 500watts, you should use 700w to 800w or more watts dimmer.
In case ur drill machine is 1000watts, you should use 1200w to 1300w or more watts dimmer.

Hello, you will need the below listed items...
1) Dimmer 500 watts (voltage regulator which is used to control fan speed).
2) thick wire which can sustain 500 watts 220 volts.
3) 3 pin socket.
4) switch and socket assembly box.
These are things which you will need to make the thing you saw in the video.

hiii, if wet grinder motor runs on AC current without any capacitor in it, then definitely you can use dimmer to slow down the speed, in case it has a capacitor there may be a chance of heating and other problems and the dimmer price is according to watts, roughly 300rs to 600rs.......

Hello brother, I am Manohar. There is about 200 volts dc avaiable at my residence through solar panels. So I use it to my drills and grinder. It works fine. But the inbuilt speed controller only works in AC, and not in DC. Can you make a DC speed controller for the drills and grinders of upto 850 watts?

Thanks for the reply. Basically I have zero knowledge on electricity. Though I made the connection as you said it was not working . Then I took the box to my office and show it to our electrician and he checked . According to him the wire connection was Ok and then he started checking each and every switch , wire and plug finally he said that the switch is faulty. Then I told him it may be correct becz when I was try to fix the switches on home made board I opened the switch and as a result everything came out and took half an hour to refix. Some how I did it but may be something I put it wrong. I bought another switch and now it’s working.
Here you get plug with switch together unlike india.

But it is not slowing down to 100 RPM however it is increasing in rotation as I released the deemer switch

Hello, once test the dimmer with help of 100w light bulb, if it is working with light bulb, then ur drill might not support speed control.........

If voltage is low then power of the drill will be low as well as it's torque also low. so it can not work properly,also can not work as a hammer drill.
It's not a good idea or a good technique.
Hi, drill machine motor is very powerful, even on low voltage its torque is good, on low speed also you can make holes on plastic and wood and even you can use it as electric screw driver. Hammer mode works in slow speed also..

From the looks the regulator is similar to the 650 Watt dimmer by Anchor, which costs about Rs. 250 in Pune market.
