if you ever watch this gwil, thank you so much for your contribution to alt-j. An awesome wave is an album I know I will look back and say defined by late teens/early 20s period. I have listened to it all the way through countless times since its release and I still find it an amazing work of art. I hope alt-j have a great future without gwil, but that first album will always be very special to me so I thank him for his contributions to that amazing achievement.
Lol that's what I love about alt-J, Joe uses his voice as an instrument. Not many people realize that when you make music, everything you use is an instrument... hands tapping, etc. Its really not always about the lyrics either, its about how the words you sing flow in a melody along with the music.
That hilarious moment during the interview Gwil imitating Gus: "you can't do that, it doesn't make sense musically!" Gwil: "but it sounds so good?!" :3
i saw then a few nights ago in Upper Darby, PA...EPIC!!! Such an amazing band, im so glad I discovered them and will continue to love them Such a great band to see live ∆
When asked "Any of you in a relationship" and Gwil said "Just me" my heart kinda like got crushed in too little pieces *lol* awwww I still adore you even my heart is all broken ;)
"It's 'cause we're exactly the same people and because we've known the music for years, you kind of, I kind of feel like they're lying or it's a joke or I'm waiting to be called out or somebody to say like 'it's not that interesting, and you're not that special'." Ugh, lovelovelove thom
Using their songs for ambient background music was a bad idea! It makes it to damn hard to concentrate on their chatter when your singing through the entire interview. GEEZZ!
I don't know for sure, he never actually said, but I'm thinking it probably had something to do with family and his girlfriend, since he talks about not seeing her very much.
i think is pretty much obvious he is the only one in a relationship, and he already said he left because his entire life was about playing around the world, and he was not sure if that was what he wanted
+Arnoldo McGunterson Speaking with The Music recently, keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton said he believed Sainsbury "was almost opposed to being successful as a band in a way" and that he thought the industry goings-on were "bullshit." “[It was] just the whole lifestyle, really: it was the touring aspect, it was the music industry aspect, he didn’t enjoy doing interviews at all, he didn’t enjoy having to go out for dinner with people from the record label, he didn’t enjoy going on tour, he didn’t enjoy that kind of thing, having to shake hands with radio programmers after gigs and things," said Unger-Hamilton. "I think he just thought the whole thing was bullshit, which it sort of is, but I’m okay with that. We don’t have to do it too much. You’ve just got to play the game up to a point. The three of us still in the band understand that, he doesn’t feel like that, and that’s fine." “We definitely would feel the same way as him on occasion. Obviously sometimes you finish a gig in the middle of a really long tour and you’re tired after the gig and you just want to be by yourself and then suddenly you’re presented with the head of the station for the local radio station in your dressing room and they don’t leave. Everybody feels that, like, ‘Oh my god, please fuck off.’I think overall we’re quite understanding people and we’re quite friendly people and we enjoy going on tour, we’re okay with meeting people like that, because ultimately they’re playing our records and so we do have to be nice to them because they’re largely responsible for the success we’re having. "I think Gwil was never really about success, he was almost opposed to being successful as a band in a way. We were sort of thinking, ‘Well, I’ve got to go shake hands with this guy and have a chat to him and whatever but that’s okay because frankly, if his radio station hadn’t been playing our track we wouldn’t have sold out this massive venue in this town.’ I think Gwil was sort of thinking, ‘Well, I’m not interested in selling out the venue in the town.’”

I can't even listen to the actual interview because I keep focusing on the music in the background

That Supreme camp cap, though.
It’s ugly and stupid. Supreme is the stupidest brand of all time. Epitome of vanity.
