NO word from them after my payment failed for some weird reason with a card with 3000 on it ........ But just venting cuz im ready to get to work if i could buy some cables....great video man real informative.

      Sorry to hear the issues you are having with them. We always purchase the tools through vendors like local parts stores not directly from the company. If you haven't tried it a good website to use is aeswave.com. They are great for diagnostic tools.

      Generally this would indicate the ecu has lost communication with another module on the network. Check to be sure all other modules are able to communicate with your scan tool. I would pay extra attention to the security module. It sounds like you likely need to relearn the security system.

      For tuning this will not work. This process simply puts the OEM calibrations into the ecu. For performance tuning you would use a special software that is able to modify specific areas of the ecu that are normally "locked". For nissans, especially the z and g, it is common to use a software called "uprev".

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  Год назад +2

      Yes it needs to be reflashed. And you need to use this program. The reflash process programs the module to the vehicles security system and updates the software. The part number could be used in several different vehicles, configurations, with different engines, etc... so the reflash puts the correct software into the module for your application.

    So is it possible to add cruise control to an ecu that didn’t have cruise control?

    • @Sp_kingz.__
      @Sp_kingz.__ 4 месяца назад

      Yea you can but it’s a little more complicated then it would seem depending on what type of cruise control you want you might not actually need to do anything to the ecu rather a external device might be better when that can tap into your accelerator pedal and keep it at a certain position some cars have the physical line going to your throttle body but some newer cars use a specific voltage signal sent to your ecu but if the car has that it likely already has cruise control so I’d suggest the hardwiring might be your best bet. Hope that helps

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  2 года назад

      If you are looking to reset the ecu just to clear codes then generally most codes will clear just by disconnecting the battery. If you are resetting the ecu for another reason then you would need to use the things described in the video.

    • @lejoshmont2093
      @lejoshmont2093 16 дней назад

      While not proper producer you shouldn't have to use a scan tool to do any of those services. What I mean is you can get buy without one. I am not not sure how important resetting the cvt deteration for the fluid is though. That is a special function reset and disconnecting the battery won't reset it. You are going to need at least a bidirectional scan tool that supports the reset but some of the cheapest are going to be a little more expensive than or at leas in the ball partk of an economical j2534 vci.

      I'm personally not familiar with the D8 but it can be done with any J2534 capable device. The process shown is exactly the same regardless of what device you use. The system will prompt you to select the passthru device when connecting to the vehicle and you simply choose the one you are using. From there the process is the same. Keep in mind manufacturers change/update things frequently so some of it may be a little different since I made this video. The video should be enough for you to follow and figure things out though

If you have access to a scan tool you can scan the car to see of there are any codes set that may point you in the correct direction. If the scan tool will communicate with it, check for codes. It most likely needs to be programmed to the vehicle. If the scan tool can not communicate, then you would want to check wiring. I can't be sure with your vehicle as we do not have that model in the US where I am located, but typically the manufacturer uses 1 ECU that works with an engine/powertrain package regardless of what model the vehicle is. The ecu is then programmed using the vehicles VIN Number. The programming uses the VIN to tell the ecu the correct options and functions for the vehicle. Generally if you have the wrong ecu it will not even plug into the harness as the connectors are different. I would check to make sure the ecu is programmed with the correct VIN and then reach out to the seller from there.

    Cool video. Is there a way to remove the speed limiter on the 2020 Murano with this system?

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  3 года назад +2

      Thanks! To answer your question, no. You would need an aftermarket tunner or tunning software to do that. A software called Uprev is very good for Nissan although I'm not sure if it supports the Murano.

    can i use the website to programme a nissan vehicle from the UK?

    • @apmotorsports5568

      If I remember correctly, when you access the Nissan website you select your region. You would just select the uk instead of north America. If you are in America and trying to program a vehicle from the uk it should work but you may want to contact Nissan tech support before attempting just to make sure.

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  3 года назад +1

      The R2R does diagnostics and VIN writing on 2018 and newer vehicles, but does allow programming/reflashing on 1999 and newer. Also, the website says the normal PLUS requires the Nissan interface where the R2R is J2534 compatible.

      Most manufacturers allow atleast some of the modules to be reused. Unfortunately I have never been able to find a good resource for knowing which modules can be reused and for which cars. In my experience used modules typically do work but the only way I have found to know for sure is to try and see what happens.

    Is there a way to add features like cruise control? I have a Nissan Cube that I swapped to manual transmission and as a result the cruise control doesn’t register anymore. Can the ECU be programmed to enable it?

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  2 года назад

      I have not seen that feature before but I also have never tried to do anything like that with a Nissan. I do know that sometimes a manufacturer will have a function in the factory level scan tools for things like that. Personally I would recommend talking to a local dealer to see if that is something they could do for you.

      Technically yes, but if you do not already own the required equipment (J2534 PassThru device, and programming voltage maintainer) then it would be considerably cheaper to pay the dealer to do it for anyway. This procedure is really intended for aftermarket/independent repair facilities that are going to be programming vehicles as part of their service offerings.

      A thousand us dollars maybe if you have to buy the PassThru, battery voltage maintainer, computer, and the subscription cost. Some PassThru devices can be purchased for as little as $50, i.e. a mongoose cable. And most people already own a computer that is capable. Then it's just the cost of a voltage maintainer and the subscription which will end up being less than $500 typically. Still much cheaper to just have the dealership do it unless you are going to program several vehicles

    Awesome video! Thanks! Some questions: If I reprogram the car then it doesn't take and still goes back to prior status, what's the problem? what's wrong? how can reprogram it and it keeps the reprogramming?

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568  2 года назад +1

      The reprogramming process removes the old program from the ecu and downloads the most up to date software to the ecu. Personally I've never had an ecu revert back to the old software unless the ecu is already up to date.
      If you are talking about an issue with the vehicle returning then I would say the software just isn't causing the issue.

    • @apmotorsports5568

    Just get anything but a Nissan next time... worst brand of cars and car issues that they refuse to recall but will happily send bulletins on how the issue can be corrected -by the owner and even instructions on how to do so. Took a lawsuit to get headlights replaced that almost killed people and anything within 5 feet of them at night and they still try to fight you on doing the job... went through two transmissions in less than 4 years and 38k miles total.... sends a massive multiple year/model effecting bulletin on how to remove your center console to replace the $600 gear shifter they acknowledge has an issue getting stuck in park- permanently....so they want to make sure you know how to spend that $600 and the hour + time it takes to do yourself... the right way.. cuz they aren't going to recall them and responsibility they were nice enough to let you know it's going to happen, right?! It's the damn park position switch inside the shifter mechanism that's less than $25 to replace but they will not ever admit it or even have the part available... has to be bought third party but works and resolves the issue 100% of the time... had a 2006 maxima back in 2007 and almost as nightmarish ... Nissan is trash and I'm just sad I even gave them a second chance years later only to be disgustingly disappointed. They are full of hot air like their garbage A/C compressors control valves... salvageyardwasteland
