Just wanted to say thank you for giving me all these tips! I’m applying next year, and Penn is my dream school. Recently, I’ve been overly stressed about the application process.Your video really helped to calm me down and understand the process better.
Watching this video just made my face light up with ideas and inspiration for how to approach my Penn supplements! I've honestly been stuck on the second half of the academic supplement for a while and have had no clue how to approach the community supplement despite knowing what I want to talk about, but this video sort of cleared a path in my head. Thanks so much!
Thank you so so much! I really love your essays and I'm actually crunching for my dream school right now. Your advice is really helpful for me because I've been struggling a lot with being authentic in my essays.
@@gabrielacanizares4782 hi! I’m not sure I understand your question completely. If you mean through what means did I send it, through the common app. If you mean to what colleges, I only ended up applying to two schools (the other being Rutgers) since I got in ED, but I used variations of these essays to apply to scholarships and such (I would have done the same had I had to apply to more colleges after Penn decision).
Thank you so much for making this! I'm applying regular decision this January to Penn so this video really helped me to come up with creative ideas to write my essays :)
this video is very honest and helpful I'm currently writing my essays and I find myself being overly formal, serious, and sort of bragging about myself so thank you for this set back on the reality of a good essay
I cannot tell you how much I can relate to your essays! I also love to bake, and if I get accepted(cough cough probably not), I'd love to see you at PennCakes~
Bro thank you so much for uploadint this ish. Like I am just now doing my penn apps even though they due in like 2 weeks lmfao. Its so hard to navigate the website to find enough info sometimes. lmfao
honestly, i just tried to be as honest as possible. i talked about how the school is for engineering and trivial stuff like the location and energy of the school lol
Hello! Since the community based essay is only 200 words, did you go with the introduction, body, conclusion system or just input a whole block of text? Thank u!!
hi haley! quick question is penn cakes still around? i’m writing my penn supps and am a hugeeeeee baker (ex i willingly read books about traditional french culinary techniques) and i would love to join. i checked the penn clubs site and couldn’t find it tho :(
i think i have a video about the common app but I just wrote a list of things i'm passionate about then tried writing a paragraph on everything I came up with
my list was around 14 i think but i only ended up applying to 4 because i got into my early decision school! also i think for top tier schools, subject tests are required or atleast highly recommended
How did you find info on the teachers and what classes they teach. I've been trying to find things which I could reference on my essay, but I keep reaching dead ends. any help would be appreciated
@@MinorCarAccident the thing is, all the faculty I'm googling is coming up empty handed. I'm not getting any classes to reference for the essay. Is there any website links that have this sort of information?
@@MinhNguyen-el1ig Because Penn is an early decision school, this would mean that if Penn accepts you, you have to go to the Uni no matter what. There are definitely exceptional circumstances, but generally this means that even if the other 3 accept you, as long as Penn accepts you, you have to go.
You’re amazing. I thought about Penn but don’t think I’m half as good as you. Some of the schools I’m applying to don’t have supplements though. Do you think there’s a way to show my interest in their school in the common app essay?
Honestly, not really haha. I didn't really know what I wanted to major in until a few weeks before I applied to colleges so I just did what I thought would be interesting!
i don't know if i really showed passion specific to my major on my app. the only things that were really geared to my major were my stem classes in high school (which i tried to take the highest level classes). other than that, all my ecs had nothing to do with stem. since, i didn't have any major specific ecs, my goal was to simply show that i had passion. didn't really matter what for because my goal was to show that i become totally involved and try my best when i put my mind on something. that way, my app readers could know that i would approach college with the same mindset of making use of everything they have to offer.
“I’m a really big procrastinator”... and I’m working on this a week before the deadline.. but you’ve been so helpful!!

Any tips for Penn interview? More specifically, "why should Penn accept you?"

aren't there like other essays depending on your major, or am I just wrong?
this is so funny to watch after getting in like… I did that? you are amazing :)

One question Haley! When you talked about the courses and projects that you wanna do, do you really mean to take them? How did you manage to do that?
omg thank you so much!!!!!! godsenddd
Do you think SAT Subject tests give a major boost in applications? Also, how many colleges did you apply to? I feel like my list is way too long.
my list was around 14 i think but i only ended up applying to 4 because i got into my early decision school! also i think for top tier schools, subject tests are required or atleast highly recommended
Both essays are very tough and now i think i have an idea on how to tackle this. Id like to ask any specific sites you used for the penn research
Should I apply regular or early? I’m taking the SAT and it’s subject tests in November and December.
hmm. im not sure about this one. personally, i would probably apply regular since id want to put my best foot forward
How did you find info on the teachers and what classes they teach. I've been trying to find things which I could reference on my essay, but I keep reaching dead ends. any help would be appreciated
you can find their faculty and staff by googling it, each professor will have a profile with a resume + other info
