- So…you’re ready to buy your first scuba tank. That’s great.
But, before you do, there are some questions you’ll want to answer to make sure you are spending your hard-earned money as wisely as possible.
• Buying Your First Scub...
Those head turns tho
Lol i subbed cuz that xd
What the heck does he keep looking at?
Steel tanks can also be filled up to 300bar, which increases capacity dramatically, but it then requires a DIN 1st stage.
Very helpful and informative video. Buuuuuuuuut what is with the head tilt/look away thing with every statement?
I'm not hearing the audio but upon reading your comment I looked and saw, it's funny, lol
Haha yeah
The way this guy looks to & away from the camera makes me laugh. This guy is a savage. c:
The other things to consider that weren’t mentioned is that aluminum becomes positively buoyant as the tank drains, as were with steel tanks do not and you do not require as much weight in your BCD if you use a steel tank that is negatively buoyant. Also one other thing that wasn’t really touched upon is when selecting your regulator which valve type do you deal with in the din is the best option
Seriously though... How ripped is this dude
That plane at the end looks like it's at Gilboa Quarry in OH. Fun dive quarry.
Worthwhile watching before making decision aluminium vs steel tanks. I lean towards steel tanks. Galvanized & Hot Dips on steel.
Well done. I dive a combination of southern warm water and northern cold water drysuit diving. I prefer the aluminum in warm water due to the small amount of weight required with a thin shorty and aluminum tank; usually 12 lbs. A steel tank would be noticeably negative when maneuvering sideways. Up north with a drysuit, I love the steel 100 for its extra negative buoyancy to go along with the 30 odd pounds of lead.
Nice video, as manufacturer of cylinders, we know about cylinder itself , but not this application information, very helpful for communication with customers, thanks
Your collar is bothering me so much!!!!! But it's a very good informative video!!
My mistake was buying a too light steel 12 ltr tank. When u want to use ur 12 liter for double with drysuit then that extra heavy 15. kilo 12 liter tank does come in handy. Now i'm stuck with a stupid 12 steel tank of 13.4 kilo instead of 15.3 kilo.
11 liter alloy is your first choice, if you decide to go into technical diving later on. If you're diving cold water and don't decide to dive technical later on, then go for 12 liter steel, single or doubles. 11 liter alloy, single or doubles if you're diving freshwater. Too many divers have several tanks which add to the cost of diving. Rebreather divers make the mistake of using 5.7 liter alloys, which is too small. But if you happen to be a tech CCR guide, then having a 9 liter, 11, liter and 5.7 liter makes sense as a bailout.
Great video!
hes probably looking at que cards or notes on what to say. Thats why he keeps turning his head!!
steel vs. aluminum. there should be commentary regarding the weight savings in aluminum. aluminum is preferred for safety reasons - that should be said. catastrophic steel rust at the bottom should be a noted concern. how to remove water from within a steel should be commented on. steel is harder, tougher, but is corrosion prone. higher bar pressures possible in steel.
Exactly, the difference in weight and buoyancy between steel and aluminium is the a deciding factor. Wet or dry suit, single or double cylinders, the choice of material has much influence on the amount of weights you'll need.
what ibestfor spear fihing
What is a good brand of starter equipment?
Marc Mcclinchy Get a AL63 tank and pick up a reg and snorkeling gear! Don't dive below 30 ft and pressurize by squezzin ur nose and blow out! Ur ears will pop! Ur pressurized! Bout it man!
Hello dear..
I would like to ask you for me as a beginner and don't want to carry heavy tank, what do you advise me to buy?
*If you send it to me here in Egypt - Cairo, what it will cost me?
Thanks for your help..
where is the sound
3:49 if you already know you want to buy a tank
I really need your help i had scuba tank sent to me by a friend but the valve is different from what I've seen i dont know what type of valve i has. Refilling would be very hard
Did you show it to your dive shop?
My word of advice on buying your first tank don't you have to go to a dive shop and get your tank filled anyway a lot of times they charge anywhere from 5 to $10 to fill your tank or you can just rent one of their tanks for like 15 bucks and then you don't got to worry about it and being certified and your annual inspections because honestly what happens is you buy an aluminum 80 and you use it a few times and then you decide oh I want to start doing two Dives when I go out so now you have to rent a tank Plus have yours filled and then a year goes by they want 35 bucks to inspect the stupid thing so you do that and then the second year goes by and you're like f*** it and just rent two tanks when you go out and then the tank you purchased just sits in your basement I've got one I've actually got three sitting in my basement for like the last 15 years
Joseph Atnip Yo wanna sell em?
Its like golf, gotta pay to play. Great real world insights
Why don't you sell em? 😆 What kind of tanks? Capacity? Where do you live?
GOOD
Good information, but the silly head turning is distracting.
Can we use china carbon fiber tank for diving ??
Technically you could, BUT composite tanks are too positively buoyant so would require way more lead to compensate and get back the neutral buoyancy with it.
Where do I know that voice?
Blue Gratto’s videos!
Do empty or filled air tanks sink or float ?
Near empty aluminums tend to be positively buoyant ("float"). Near empty steel is usually still slightly negatively buoyant ("sink").

Oh my god can this guy stop switching sides and looking up before he speaks each and every time this made me so angry
Cave Diver Harry +1
1:26 Scariest take off ever lol, late rotate followed by near 90 degree ascent. Is that footage from some sort of air trials, or stunt demo take off? If not that pilot should be fired.
Jonathan Stewart I thought the same thing to.
*turns his head* so, your going to buy your first scuba tank
good vid tho
* you're going to buy...
hi plz
bottle of 12L 200bars still with me underwater how much minutes?
I think it depends on your weight, size and how intensively you swim.
i have 155 pound and i need swiming underwater between 24 and 27 ft
Look I'm no expert on this so you probably shouldn't ask me :P
Anis, 12L at 200 bar works out at about 2300L of air. Depending on experience, exertion and depth, that can last for as little as 20 minutes or as long as 218 minutes (the maximum time that should be spent at 27 feet)
You should have been taught all this in your course, as well as how to work out your consumption rate. If using 15L per minute, time will be 153 min. If using 40L per minute, time will be an hour. If you go deeper the time will be less.
Please do not do this unless you have been trained. Scuba is safe when you know the limits but when you don't know about decompression illnesses, you can die very easily......even at only 27ft
Ken Guest thanks
jesus, can i just a tank with some air in it, a dam mask and go? *tilts head*
THE WATER DRAINS DOOOOOWN, Why a generator ?
What do you mean? Which generator?
Why does he look high
It was so hard to take serious with those dramatic head turns over and over again. Great info thanks but lose the acting.
Sir i want too buy a scuba gear sir im from the philippines
Wtf are you looking at
I may only be 10 but I'm fine with al 80 tank also I'm not certified but I can dive
Lego/other for safety, you really should get an appropriate certification for your age.
Yes, get certified. You may put other divers in danger, being uncertified.
Lego/other Good for u junior! I'm like older than you and like a 63 or my shorty US Diver AL80. Std size 80 can't stand it hanging down there especially with my 1963 US Diver twin hose Jet Air Regulator.... Yup great reg bro!😀
Gary Bowen Stay away from other divers is my motto! 😂😂😂😂😋
hahahah
So dramatic,, my oh my...
Answer to the 4 questions
Is now the right time to buy? YES
how many tanks do I need? ALL OF THEM
What size tanks? ALL OF THEM
Aluminum or steel? YES
Whose breathing gas???🤔😑 I breath compressed air outta my tank......😀😋
This either a really bad joke, or an incredibly ignorant comment... Not sure which. Haha
Every driver should have a glock on them When diving beacuse what if a shark atacks them
Semir Zulanovic this is a terribly misinformed comment.
Guns don’t shoot well in water spear gun is better in water
@@williamjenkins4061Not true. Special operations forces do it all the time. Don't forget the maritime spring cups for Glocks. RIP, Mr. Gaston Glock 🙏
