This is *exactly* what I was looking for; I have several Bradford Pears in my front yard which seem to be pretty mature, and with the high winds in my part of the country, I want to make sure they don’t threaten my home, my neighbors, my family, or my parked cars.
What about going around the whole thing? We have two in our yard and there’s about 10-12 limbs coming up and doing this method would be overcomplicated and take a lot of material.
