@@CourtAboveTheCut sorry my mistake the wobbly runner was talking about a signal box being restored so I’m watching that one, sorry two minute channels too much to watch and look at
Great video…thank you…..it’s a pity the artists impression included platforms for the boats in the basin….which looked fantastic…..Unfortunately they were all just a false impression….not going to be built now 😢😢
I have listened ti the excellent commentary twice but still miss any reference to the capacity of the bridge although 20 ton loads of clay were mentioned as were horses. Lovely old colourwash Victorian engineers' plans as usual. I assume that they are kept safe in the County Record office.
@@CourtAboveTheCut Thanks. Google maps show the new basin and the foundation work for the new building. Great to be able to see such detail and to follow much opf the route of the canal despite the overbearing tree canopies in places. uncontrolled afforestation is a menace for the railway opertors , the heritage railways and the canal restoration movement. And ,as I have said before, the Forestry Commision is not necessarily helpful if they feel entitled to exercise an overview.
@@CourtAboveTheCut Designer here. The bridge is designed for 5KN/m2. This is extreme crowd load. equivalent to 5 grown men for every metre squared. This caters for horse use too.
Thank you for another great video of our canal and making it more known. Hopefully I’ll see you again further down the road.

@@michaelhibbert4393 is that confirmed? I did wonder. Obviously nothing will be done until boats are in the basin

I actually didn’t mention the capacity, I’ll try to find out.
Yes these were provided by the trust who had got them from records
