I think referee Bill Collins did his best to remain professional and impartial throughout the match, however I did notice several times some micro facial expressions of amazement and excitement that he couldn't quite hide. I'm happy that now he can finally express himself outside the competition, just like a normal fan of this sport, like all of us.
He is the John brzenk of refs, truly. If you want a good match between greats, he's the only guy you call
@@MrKooderna so true, I always had a great feeling any time he was the ref. He has such a warm presence that even the armwrestlers respect. I can't think of one time where they were complaining too much at him, cuz he's so fair all the time. Maybe he didn't call the running fouls when he should've, but it doesn't matter anymore. The match was just spectacular and seeing him show emotions, like a true fan, it showed us that referees are not just there to do their job, they are actually fans of the sport and they still enjoy it after so many years.
Maybe he closed his eyes intentionally few times on levan, because if you look closely levan actually went out of the pad more than 1 time in those occasions and he probably didn't know where the fight is going. He understands very well that one small mistake doesn't have to be called all the time, we are human and sometimes we don't do it on purpose. He just saw levan going out more than once, then decided at the moment and it just happened that it was beneficial to levan to call fouls and not running fouls. Best referee in my eyes for such a hard to judge sport.

Uno degli aspetti più divertenti di questo match sono state le facce di Bill durante tutto il match... Stupito e scioccato di quanto stava accadendo davanti ai suoi occhi, sembrava che pensasse "Minchia se è forte sto cavallo italiano !!" 🤣 Assolutamente fantastico! Ad un certo punto temevo che dalla collisione delle 2 forze immense di quei 2 si creasse un buco nero che inghiottiva l'universo ! Emozioni emozioni !

Detto questo, in futuro esaminerai con noi gli sop del 3 round: il primo, da quello che ho capito, fallo di ermes che può ottenere vantaggio, sul secondo non ho capito niente. Credo che il 3 round possa essere oggetto di grandi approfondimenti. Ma Levan completamente a terra con 190 kg che sudano e nonriesce a piegare Ermes, e anzi stà per venire ribaltato, non ha prezzo. Ho acqiustato l'evento, fantastico. Il 5 round, forse meno importante visto il risultato acquisito, è stato devastante per Levan. Anche ne 5 round non ho capito i falli. Levan just needs to drop to 170kg and train for beating the flop press and it will be not close. Very good lesson for levan, i think he thanks ermes for that
One of Levan’s comment was he thought Ermes didnt have a chance on endurance, and it all turned upside down when we saw Levan given the oxygen at the end. Ermes still got way to keep adding a little more weight whereas Levan cant get any bigger due to health issues recommendations. Absolute two great champs, and now I just cant help but thinking what level is Denis’ power

Imagine trying to toproll someone and the guy is literally helping you with your own backpressure, good luck keeping your elbow on the pad. Still, huge props to Ermes, he did very very well
He definitely was not trying to get levan off the back of the pad, those fouls helped levan not hurt him. If it wasn’t restarted ermes could pin. People always say this shit when people are in a flop press that they’re intentionally trying to push people off the back but it’s obvious when that’s the case and when it isn’t

Honestly it was very close to Ermes winning the whole thing. *IF* he had turned around and won the 4th round... They probably wouldn't have been able to make it to the tie breaker 7th round but who knows what *could have* happened. The match was incredible and Ermes seriously proved a LOT

Much respect to Ermes for giving us a memorable match and all the entertainment, and I know he would have won the other two rounds. but, its only fair to stop the match after the 4th win and have it best of 6. otherwise it would be like continuing a basketball game after the buzzer which is weird.

Quella tecnica nuova non la abbandonerei per nulla perché blocca levan ti permette di recuperare mentre lui che vuole chiudere sclera e spreca molte energie. Comunque di vantaggi di esperienza a levan gliene sono stati già dati troppi ora con calma il rematch. Non tra 6 mesi. L'ideale sarebbe che levan andasse con uno tra i 5 poi mettiamo un morozov a dargli un'altra grande battaglia dove si logora un'altro po' e quello sarebbe il momento adatto. Quindi 2024. Ora il momento va' scelto bene e la fretta non serve non si può più sbagliare nulla. Levan voleva fare 3 match quest'anno bene. Ne faccia 2 speriamo per noi che in questi ci sia 1 che lo farà sudare per bene e dopo ok 👍

I have a feeling Levan will find reasons to dodge Ermes until someone else beats Levan. At least losing to Dennis or Morozov he could say they got very big to fight him.
Last two rounds could have been pin, it clearly belong to ermes. Levan was smart enough to utilize the "elbow foul" card.
Stop discrediting the #1. He won 4-0 and decided to stop - which is within the rules. Ermes hasn't pinned Levan once.
