@@karatekid6494 Do you need the mask to affect the text as well? You could probably track the text separate from the mask, depending on what you are trying to achieve but it's difficult to say without knowing what you are trying to do 😄

I don't think this is going to be as accurate with hair bit it will still be a lot better than FCP's built in masking tool when it comes to hair. It's free though, so worth trying it out to see if it works for the particular shot you have in mind 😄

@@Brad_West It's not even been a day but I now invested in the studio version of Davinci just for the magic mask alone. It's a game changer and time saver deluxe. Since I love Final Cut and own a lot of plugins for that, I export the alpha from DaVinci and continue to work in FCPX. Love it. Can only recommend it.
@@Brad_West I ended up figure it out right after I commented 🤣 just had to go in the compound clip and select the bottom clip and then turn off the bcc effect, boom 💥 problem solved!

The tracking doesn't appear in the view matte mask option . Even though tracking is perfect in the Pixel chooser there's nothing but a white surface with four handles and a center point. Where to look for help ?

Yes, I even tried on different computers. It doesnt open. But Ive tried with vpn turned on and the link transfered me to website where I filled out everything and installed it with activation key. Then we tried it on our Imac, but we dont see mocha. We isntalled "all plugins" and used "activation key" as you suggest to everyone. But there is no mocha. So now I wanted to try to download again. But the link is not opening. Is it because we are in another country or smth? Another question is - are the bcc looks and continuum website has the same look? Because when I was trying several times to go through the link, Ive tried to see both links and noticed they look the same. So I thought may be I downloaded the wrong link somehow or not...
I literally no longer trust third-party plugins after I bought some from MotionVFX and ended up not working on an M1 chip even after tons of troubleshooting.😫
Which plugins are those? I have a bunch of MotionVFX plugins that work perfectly on my M1 Max. You can try BCC Looks for free to see if you have any issues on your Mac but again, works perfectly on my M1. Thanks for watching the video though 😄👍🏼

mTracker 3D is my favorite tracker. But, if I need to do 2D tracking that FCP can't handle I default to using After Effects. I've heard good things about the tracker from CoreMelt but I haven't tried it myself. Hope that helps! 🤞🏼
Confused - is this purely free or it requires a separate subscription? Every time I click on FX editor in FCPX it doesn't preview my own footage, it just shows a C watermark. Nothing happens when I hit apply. I followed the link but there is NO Mocha Tracking, its everything else that you cannot use because it has a big red X on it. Where's the Mocha Tracking??? This is the risk everyone will take when they download from a link. After, I tried to delete the BCC software which is extremely difficult. there are over 360 files, I managed to delete most, but left with 20 files that I cannot delete. I would NOT recommend anyone downloading the BCC files.

I had the same problem. Clicking on fx editor/mocha mask/ help. Nothing happens. Uninstalled/reinstalled twice with no luck. I emailed them and no reply. Did you find a solution?
@@MrAndyBradley Yes, I had thought the mocha app installed was just more bloatware trying to get you to buy the full version of mocha so I had deleted it months prior during installation of another plugin pack. I reinstalled everything from BorisFX from scratch and now it works. Hope that helps you and good luck with your problem!
Hi wich BCCFree version did you installed? by me using FCPx 10.6.4 and tried Continuum_2024_Apple_Final_Cut_17_0_1 and Continuum_2024_Apple_Final_Cut_17_0_3 and even Boris FX Hub Installer_Continuum-1.1.5-mac I cannot use the plugin. It works sporatically, And I get often : plugin not responding .

But sudently it freezes, and I get the message plugin not responding.... Install reinstall helps sometimes but I managed only once to have it working....
Yeah they have a lot of specialty plugins. Not for everyone. Did you click on the BCC Looks link at the top of the description? It takes you straight to the page to get the free license.

I didn’t have any previous software from them but followed the instructions, removing past plugins (there were none but still did the step,) used the activation key in the email. The plug-in asks for the source clip and when I reference it I get that red card with the missing media icon in the viewfinder. I’ll read your reply and see if there any ways to fix it.
@@NOTLeavingLV Yeah there have been a few people with this problem, probably because the installation process is not as simple as it should be, but the plugin definitely works and it's definitely free. I would suggest uninstalling and trying again. I hope you're able to get it working 👊🏼

If there is enough contrast in the scene it does a decent job. You might still have to tweak the track to get it perfect like you would have to do in After Effects or something similar.

As far as I know you’ll need at least FCP 10.6.2 and MacOS 10.15.6. What versions are you running?
The tracking doesn't appear in the view matte mask option . Even though tracking is perfect in the Pixel chooser there's nothing but a white surface with four handles and a center point. Where to look for help ?

for some reason when I rotoscope and use the stencil luma and place a background, the rotoscoped footage becomes very transparent after placing background. I followed what u said but how can I fix it ?

Yes, I even tried on different computers. It doesnt open. But Ive tried with vpn turned on and the link transfered me to website where I filled out everything and installed it with activation key. Then we tried it on our Imac, but we dont see mocha.
We isntalled "all plugins" and used "activation key" as you suggest to everyone.
But there is no mocha.
So now I wanted to try to download again. But the link is not opening.
Is it because we are in another country or smth?
Another question is - are the bcc looks and continuum website has the same look? Because when I was trying several times to go through the link, Ive tried to see both links and noticed they look the same. So I thought may be I downloaded the wrong link somehow or not...

I literally no longer trust third-party plugins after I bought some from MotionVFX and ended up not working on an M1 chip even after tons of troubleshooting.😫
Which plugins are those? I have a bunch of MotionVFX plugins that work perfectly on my M1 Max. You can try BCC Looks for free to see if you have any issues on your Mac but again, works perfectly on my M1. Thanks for watching the video though 😄👍🏼
@@Brad_West I have the mClean, mButtons, and mTuber3 all error. I've went through a LOT of troubleshooting steps based on RUclips and with their support but none has ever worked on my M1 max.

Brad, the FCP built in object tracking sucks. What is the best and most accurate tracker in your opinion?
mTracker 3D is my favorite tracker. But, if I need to do 2D tracking that FCP can't handle I default to using After Effects. I've heard good things about the tracker from CoreMelt but I haven't tried it myself. Hope that helps! 🤞🏼

Yeah it’s not great for complex tracks but I definitely make use of it for quick basic tracking 😄👍🏼

I know some of BorisFX’s plugins work on Davinci. Not sure about BCC Looks and Continuum though, you’ll have to check. 👍🏼

Confused - is this purely free or it requires a separate subscription? Every time I click on FX editor in FCPX it doesn't preview my own footage, it just shows a C watermark. Nothing happens when I hit apply. I followed the link but there is NO Mocha Tracking, its everything else that you cannot use because it has a big red X on it. Where's the Mocha Tracking??? This is the risk everyone will take when they download from a link. After, I tried to delete the BCC software which is extremely difficult. there are over 360 files, I managed to delete most, but left with 20 files that I cannot delete. I would NOT recommend anyone downloading the BCC files.

When I click the mocha mask button literally nothing happens. Anybody else have this issue? What am I missing?
I would reach out to BorisFX support if I were you. Someone else is bound to have experienced something similar and I'm sure the support team would know about it. I hope you can get it sorted out!

I had the same problem. Clicking on fx editor/mocha mask/ help. Nothing happens.
Uninstalled/reinstalled twice with no luck.
I emailed them and no reply.

@@MrAndyBradley Yes, I had thought the mocha app installed was just more bloatware trying to get you to buy the full version of mocha so I had deleted it months prior during installation of another plugin pack. I reinstalled everything from BorisFX from scratch and now it works. Hope that helps you and good luck with your problem!
Hi wich BCCFree version did you installed? by me using FCPx 10.6.4 and tried Continuum_2024_Apple_Final_Cut_17_0_1 and Continuum_2024_Apple_Final_Cut_17_0_3 and even Boris FX Hub Installer_Continuum-1.1.5-mac I cannot use the plugin. It works sporatically, And I get often : plugin not responding .

@@Brad_West Hi tanks for your quick reply. I dis enter my generated free licence key during the installation. I could once play with the mocha as you did on your video. But sudently it freezes, and I get the message plugin not responding.... Install reinstall helps sometimes but I managed only once to have it working....
That's a tough one to try and troubleshoot@@fcp-r3h. I think you may need to update FCP for it to be more stable with BCC Looks.

It's just the looks FX for free. Not the other ones you showed in your video. The other ones belong to Continuum.

Yeah they have a lot of specialty plugins. Not for everyone. Did you click on the BCC Looks link at the top of the description? It takes you straight to the page to get the free license.

@@Brad_West well I used your limk. I didn’t have any previous software from them but followed the instructions, removing past plugins (there were none but still did the step,) used the activation key in the email. The plug-in asks for the source clip and when I reference it I get that red card with the missing media icon in the viewfinder. I’ll read your reply and see if there any ways to fix it.
@@NOTLeavingLV Yeah there have been a few people with this problem, probably because the installation process is not as simple as it should be, but the plugin definitely works and it's definitely free. I would suggest uninstalling and trying again. I hope you're able to get it working 👊🏼

This is the worst plug in you can buy if you do the mocha. It doesn't track worth a crap
If there is enough contrast in the scene it does a decent job. You might still have to tweak the track to get it perfect like you would have to do in After Effects or something similar.
