Just wanna say thank you for being so honest + inspiring. I’ve just finished my first term at Oxford uni and kinda hated it. I never thought I’d be made to feel different and isolated for my social background (comprehensive state school, working class, single parent, no money basically) and it was devastating that it was making me lose my passion for my subject too. Your videos speak to me SO much so thank u thank u thank u THANK YOU! You’re amazing⭐️⭐️⭐️

Omg this video has touched me so much! Recently I have been struggling to work or do much family wise because of how pressured I feel. I feel like everything you have said has resonated with me in terms of feeling unsupported. Vlogging and creating RUclips Videos on my own channel has been so difficult for me because I’ve just felt so alone. My depression has been at its worst this year and my stress levels has just been increasing exponentially... I felt like no one got me or understood me at all... But after watching I now realise that my struggles are not on my own. There are so many people who are here to rep and support me throughout my A level course and my social and mental health. Doing the A level subjects that I do (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics) can really take a toll on you in terms of the difficulty of them and you can get overwhelmed very quickly. I’m just glad that every time I watch your vlogs I feel like there is hope for me yet! And I don’t feel so alone anymore. For that I am eternally grateful and hope to start posting more vlogs about my A level experiences and hopefully make videos about my application process for uni this year (as I am currently in year 12), especially for my application to Cambridge to study Engineering at a college like Jesus or Queens College. Thank you so so much again for your continued support for us. I wouldn’t know where I would be without these videos 😭.

I feel exactly the same about the pastoral care at my uni. They are so quick to judge and so dismissive of us as human beings, and I very much learned this the hard way. It sucks, it’s horrible. I wish we could wave a magic wand but unfortunately not. All we can say, is that we won’t treat people the same when we are the ones behind the desk. Sending lots of hugs. ❤️

Hi Ibz, honestly you were one of the people that really gave me the confidence to apply to Oxford (lol don't hate). I did apply, and got an interview. I am currently waiting to hear back. However, to be frank, and this may sound stupid, even if i get an offer (I doubt but whatever) I don't want to go to Oxford. The place just isn't for me. I'm not about to spend that much money and 3 years of my life somewhere I know I won't be happy. The sixth form I go to is INTENSE (9-4 and Saturday school for fucks sake), I know the pressure of Oxford will ruin me. Further the course I applied to isn't for me as they don't offer the subject I want to do straight. I've been accepted into UCL which will save me sooooo much living at home, and I love the course. My point is, like you said in this video, I am so glad I've realised (thanks to you) I can go to Oxford if I WANT to, the case is I just don't want that. xx

It’s so important to give people the full view of university- I sometimes talk about my uni on my channel and my blog and luckily I don’t have many problems with it so it’s like 95% positive stuff- but I remember being a prospective student and I wanted to know the good AND the bad things. ibz i don't even know where to begin with what i want to say, but i'm just so happy for u finding ur place at uni and i just want to cry. it's such a weird thing i can't describe. i'm so happy for u and it's so nice seeing u grow. i subscribed to ur channel around the time i was doing my alevels and it was ur psychology revision video that i found first i think. i've always loved psychology and i'm in first year at uni doing psychology now, which in itself is a blessing because both my firm and my insurance rejected me.
i really think everything happens for a reason, and it's made me even happier when u decided to change ur degree. the work load u had was so much but i was just so happy for u because u loved it so much. ur love for ur subject is so beautiful. it really helps when u love what u do and it's really getting me thinking about why i am at uni and what i want from my experience. i don't comment often because i'm not really good at putting words together from my head, but i really appreciate all the content u produce for us i can't believe i'm tearing up lol but i want to be successful too. not just with my degree, and i shouldn't be conforming or doing anything that doesn't benefit my growth.

Your progression as an advocate for academic development has really reinforced all of our lives and has shaped us into more promising and productive people. In the midst of university (inclusive of all the workload- especially the merging of two years worth of study, bearing in mind the transfer), you have really blossomed into a more courageous and subjective person all throughout and i’m really appreciative of this. its so true what you say about how your cambridge experience is dependent on your college, but then i’ve found the pooling thing can also go the complete other way. Having applied to Christ’s and then been pooled to Fitz, after my first term I can honestly not imagine being anywhere else. It’s of course unique to everyone, but being pooled can also be a blessing as well!
