This is weird... I just bought that SSPC/TCMA Brett rookie in the thumbnail on eBay less than 15 minutes ago. I come to youtube to watch something interesting and the first video on my youtube homepage is this one...Crazy.
Hi Allon! Sweet cards and congrats on the grades! Love the Teddy in any grade! The SSPC Brett is awesome! Glad you were surprised with the grade! I have that complete set and there’s a lot of really nice cards in it!
great cards! I Love them all of course.. looking to pick up a PSA 7 1970 Nolan Ryan in Cleveland. keep collecting.. health and happiness to you, Jonathan
Awesome Brett! I’ve been looking for that one for a while. I’m like you, the grades don’t matter much. However, it is great to get higher grades than expected. Thanks for sharing!
Nice share with the cards. Cool that the Brett came back as a really nice grade. I am in the hunt for one of those as well. Yours looks really nice. Ted Williams has a lot of nice cards and his 56 is one of his best. I think even the ""experts" do not really know anything about grading. It is a complete guessing game and crap shoot. You can guess the ballpark, but i have seen guys do reveals and they swore a PSA 7 and it comes back a 2 or 3 and they were super pissed. Lol. I never send in for grading, but i should do a few like you did. Enjoyed.
And the Brett was a crazy dollar box find right before I did my submission. Card Vault was literally the next table over. I was kind of running on excited-to-find-it fumes when I submitted it and thought it was a huge mistake afterwards. Guess I was very wrong.
Great return! The McCovey RC in a 4 was sweet. That 70 Ryan looks fantastic it would have definitely graded higher without the writing. That is a card I need to add to my collection, they are hard to find in good shape at a reasonable price. Great deal on the Teddy Ballgame! The Brett in an 8.5 is big, thanks for sharing, congratulations!
Thanks Steve! I agree that the Ryan looks really nice - the corners are good, and the card is quite vivid. Happy to know that it's real after my first snafu. I was shocked at the Brett. Absolutely shocked. And I've very glad to have the McCovey in a 4 - I'm slowly covering the 60's rookies.
Great stuff! Grading works in mysterious ways, I feel like you did really well overall this time. By the way, SGC does not give qualifiers on cards for which they give numerical grades. SGC will tell often say why a card gets an Authentic grade (trimming, altered, color added, min size not met etc) but they won't do that on numerical graded cards like PSA.
Given that PSA has bought SGC, I wonder if the grading parameters and guidelines will change. The Nolan Ryan likely would have gotten an "Authentic" by PSA because of the writing on it. But then again who knows because it seems these grading companies can't seem to stay consistent. Does SGC do qualifiers? Grading can be fun. Feels like Christmas a little. Glad you enjoyed the returns.
That's the kind of mistake you want to make. Congrats on those. I grade for very similar reasons, looks, ease of (eventual) transition, and authentication.
Card grading is a rip off and a joke. Because that Ryan graded by someone else could have been a 3 or a 1. You can submit a perfect card and in employee is having a bad day your not getting 10

That Brett is amazing! Nice grades and great cards! Thanks for the show!
Congrats on your grades. It is always nice when we get surprised on the positive side. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Great returns Allon! Obviously, the Ryan is my favorite. You have to enjoy those surprises when the grades come back higher

Fun reveal! Congrats on these grades. That Ted for $80 + grading is amazing.
Great cards. The Nolan Ryan looks super.
Great return!!
Seeing the title I came in expecting the worst but glad to see it was the exact opposite! Haha Awesome returns

Thanks. I think if you send in for grading for either amusement, protection, authenticity , or display purposes you can’t lose no matter the grade.

Nice cards and congrats on the grades. McCovey in particular looks sweet. Subscribed and congrats!

Surprise of the day! 8.5 on the George Brett rookie
Total surprise! I swear there is big edge wear on the bottom of the card. But can't complain!!!
All four of these look excellent in the tux! Glad to see that sticking to your guns with the Brett worked out, how’s that for a dollar card?!?! 😃
