I think something should look for is if you have any medical condition, you make sure you have your insurance ready and move to a location that has a specialist that you will need for your condition.
I remember the Punta Cana apartment. Though it was nice and close to the beach, there were alot of rules. Viewers should also keep in mind the VA facilities cater to those of VA Dependency Indemnity percentage Compensation (DIC), service related. I don't qualify 😭😫
James y Norberis, o really appreciate this video. This check list is way important, some many things to really consider and think about. All of your points are very important, but for me, getting my money right; and how I spend my days is very, very important to me. I hope this will work as a guide for others as well. 👍👍👍
Hello Norberis thank you and James for the good advice on moving to the DR. can you do a video updated one on the requirements to marry a Dominican in the DR? I appreciate all you guys do for us . Stay blessed🙏🏿
Great video. Is the taxes on the car brought to the country based on the year of the car or the amount of the car? Can you bring a vehicle over no older than 7 years old or 5 years old?
Hey guys i have a question. Im from tue United States and ive been living in the DR for over 3 year. I just got approved for my residencial so i will have my cedula soon. I currently have Humana insurance here but my Dominican girlfriend is suggesting that i change once i get my cedula. Which health insurance do you recommend? She has senasa and told me it was good but i just wanted a second opinion
We use ARS Universal. Senasa is a good insurance company also. Humana is also good. I think you should compare the plans and coverage but you can't go wrong with either one.
Not sure about luxury cars but there is a stipulation with classic cars but I don't know what it is. You would need to reach out to the dept Direccion de Aduanas
This question is more for Jay, since he doesn't have family in the DR. But what are the expat social opportunities in Santo Domingo? I moved from the state I grew up in to another and making a new friend network, especially if working from home, takes work I've found. Moving to another country seems like even harder work. Any insights on this would be appreciated!
He said there are many social opportunities here in Santo Domingo. That's a good topic we will either do a video on this together or he'll do it on his channel. Stay tuned
Hi norberis, I am looking to come to DR, from August 25 to December 31st.. and I am trying to find an apartment flat or studio.. what can you recommend and what is your fee?
Typically you will need to go through airbnb for that short term. I manage 2 airbnbs in Santo Domingo Este that may allow you to book their place off the platform at a discounted rate.
Thanks for mentioning the Veterans Clinic this is a high selling point for me as an U. S. Veterans! Viva Santo Domingo!
Same for me
Same ! The benefits we’ve earned to be extended overseas is huge !

Yes, I agree. Thanks for sharing this.
$5k solo per month and looking to make some investments in the country. I believe that I can make that work.
Shout out from CHI-TOWN-NATION-CHICAGO! Thanks for another highly informative and enlightening video! Gracias mi amigo! ANKH-ASE!
Much appreciated
Peace ya'll.
I needed to hear "set a date" once AGAIN for the 1000th time..
Appreciate it family
🙏🏿💯✈
You're welcome🤗
Glad to have subscribed. I’m thinking of visiting Santo Domingo next time I make a trip down.
You should! It's a great city.
I’m gonna be there June 4th🎉 it’s super hectic trying to get everything packed and ready
Are you moving here or just for vacation?
@@NorberisR moving permanently I’m in the citizenship process now

We think those are the most important too.

You're welcome. I don't think anything has changed in the requirements to get married. I will check and if so I can update the video.
great topic....usa have a lot of remote opportunities but living abroad you need to have work visa to be in the country more than 90 days..
Not in Dominican Republic. If you are working remotely you don't need a visa.
I like Gazcue 🎉
Huntsville! Man, roosters crow.... all day and night, too 😂😂😂
I think his mind went blank and just forgot🤣😂
I agree and I know my date
Leaving the rat race in America
Great. Congratulations 🎊
Another subject. How are laws are different there than the states. I heard drinking and driving is legal there.
Drinking and driving is not legal here. People do it but it's not legal and it not enforced like the US.
Omg someone told me it was legal sorry.
@@NorberisR another I heard. If you live with a woman. You aren't married. She decides to leave. She can get the house.
What are the best outlets to look for plots of land ?
You can check platforms like encuentra24.com and corotos.com.do
Hello. My brotha do you have Dominican citizenship? my wife is in Puerto Plata and i have been considering this option..
No he is now in thr process of getting his residency
Great video. Is the taxes on the car brought to the country based on the year of the car or the amount of the car? Can you bring a vehicle over no older than 7 years old or 5 years old?
Yes, the taxes depend on both you mentioned. And the car can not be older than 5 years.

Do you guys offer consultation?
Yes www.norberisr.com/product/1-on-1-consultation-125-for-45-minutes/
Can you ship an antique car
I think you can. I just don't have any information about it. I'm sure there are different rules for those types of cars.
@@NorberisR perfect
Can you guys address the way to handle taxes while living abroad?
We file taxes the same as if we lived in the US since our money comes from the US. So we don't do anything different.
In Santiago too they have a VA Clinic.
It is important too to be in contact with your Embassy in DR. They can guide you too about best services.
How's the driving there ?
Crazy. But it depends on what partof the island you live.
Hello how do you book a one way flight to the DR if moving there? Did your husband get any hassle at the airport during check in or arrival?
Spirit typically doesn't ask for a return ticket but when he flew Delta they did. Just buy it and cancel it within 24 hours.
Thank you for your reply!🤗
Is there a stipulation If it's a Luxury or classic car that's more than five years old?
Not sure about luxury cars but there is a stipulation with classic cars but I don't know what it is. You would need to reach out to the dept Direccion de Aduanas
@@NorberisR Thank you so much. I will definitely look into that
