- Noctambulant is the story of a girl named Renee who after the loss of her parents is sent to live with her grandma. However Grandma has some very strange rules and soon Renee discovers she is being hunted by a living doll known as Becky. What is happening in this house? In this horror game explained video we take a look at both the story of Noctambulant and some theories as to what it all means.

Hey everyone you may be asking why this episode of horror games explained was taken down and re-uploaded. The reason for this is because I overlooked and miscorrectly explained a critical story element. I always strive to be as accurate as possible with these videos, so after some consideration, decided to re-write, re-edit and re-upload this Noctambulant story analysis. Most of the video remains the same, but the story errors made have been altered now. So please enjoy the revised edition!

Not sure if anyone else as pointed this out, but the one winged doll reminds me of the goddess Isis from Egyptian mythology. She was the goddess of magic and also brought her husband, Osiris, back from the dead.
I thought the parallels to the story were interesting and I'm wondering if they are on purpose or just a coincidence.
I thought the doll must have had some symbolism.
That is isis. Except the goddess has 2 wings.

I don’t think the grandma married the sorcerer tbh. She probably is a descendant of him.

There's a game I think you should play called Contradiction: Spot The Liar. It's not really a horror game, more of a murder mystery game, but it's made by the same developer of At Dead Of Night AND is also connected with the lore of ADoN

Renee, Ester, and Ruby inspired me to think of a crossover despite that the ending choices results of death and possession.
Hey, I was just thinking of a similar crossover but involving Fran Bow, Missfortune and the Crying Child from FNaF. Since the three of them are dead children who had to go through trials in order to attain a peaceful afterlife, the link seems easy to me... What do you think about it ?

I thought of a video animation of C.C, Ester, and Tattletail protagonist having to escape a house together while being haunted by their enemies. Each had one item from their world that both help and hinder their progress.
I also had an idea of a ultimate slumber party fright, where several horror kids would be summoned to Spooky's jumpscare Mansion for a slumber party: each one waking up in an area that shares similarities to the character. Renee and Aya (from Mad Father) would wake up in the dollhouse, as the dollhouse is an omague to Mad Father, and the doll enemies would suit them. C.C would wake up in Otto the Otter's chamber with Cassidy (his suit mate), Ib (from Ib) would end up in the wall of flesh specimen room (which will change its form to reassemble a cursed painting monster), Fran Bow in the Karamari Hospital, Tabby in Specimen 12's place, and maybe more, with the ending being they meet in the middle and Spooky throws that party she planned all along

I don't know why but the evil ending make me think of what Rachel done to her parent in the game Angel of death.

I think there is a game that you could visit and it is called IB and it is an RPG type horror game and one of my personal favorites. I tried to play it but couldn't due to the fact that I don't have a computer. Anyways IB has lots of lore from what I could remember and has many different endings that I think you will like! As always amazing video!

this is great bc when i first saw the scene of carree’s death, i had no idea what i was looking at. it didn’t say nedrick killed her or anything, i thought she got possessed or something idk. it was nice to have this clear it up!
Huh. I interpreted the lore as its not guaranteed to get the right spirit and there was an implication it wasn't Renee's soul thus feeling uncomfortable, not being viewed as family by her mother, and her father declaring her not his daughter.
You are one of, if not the best video game theorist. Sure, the edits may not be as ambitious as game theory’s, but it feels better that way. I have no clue why, but usually no face-cam horror game play throughs scare me while yours don’t. So now I can watch Dark Deception Enhanced without having to skip ahead to see if you get jump scared or not. Thanks for making these videos, you deserve 10 million subs.

Something I thought was interesting is that Renee (and also Jimmy from At Dead Of Night) hates mirrors in a kinda similar fashion to vampires. Nobody has a sure answer to why vampires hate mirrors exactly, but I think the theory that makes the most sense is that it reminds them of the fact that they don't have souls. They even shatter the mirrors they find. And that would also explain how vampires don't show up in photos.

If you want gave suggestions I suggest The Park, We happy few or Happy’s Humble Burger Farm which is this pig burger place which is like a simulator with a VHS tape vibe, it has a free demo and I believe it got a full release recently! Not many people covered two of the mentioned games so it would be cool to see those!

This story has always fulfilled me.I don’t know why,because I hate all sad stories,but this is such a complex story,I just LOVE it.
These storeis always follow the starting pattern of “parents die on child’s birthday” to be honest it gets a bit tiring but the games are still great

Here’s a little made-up story to get you in the spooky vibes.
When I was younger, my father worked the week days. My mother worked Mondays and Tuesdays. During Mondays and Tuesdays, I would go to school, then get collected by a guardian. I went to their house every Monday and Tuesday, even on holidays. As a young child, I saw the house in the creepiest way possible. This guardian was about in their mid 30s. Their house was the worst of them all; The lights flickered, paintings had monsters in them. In my bedroom, I used to move into my ‘safety corner’ which had pillow walls. I grabbed my blanket, it was extremely large for me, and covered myself in it. I got out my hidden book and read it. I was never, never EVER allowed outside my room after it striked 7 o’clock. Remember, I was very young. About 5-6. I had a toy room. I was a girl that loved cottage - core related things, so my dolls would be based around that. The walls, painted with mushrooms with a variety of colours. I had a very large doll, taller than me. Beside it, had cottage core clothes, mushroom hats, headbands that were too large for me, and for the doll. It’s eyes were light blue, and it’s hair was soft brown. I took care of her as my own, bathed her (in fake water. I just put her in the bath, wet her hair and cleaned that, because otherwise I couldn’t brush it.) , fed her, combed her hair, put her lipstick on, and put special mushroom glasses on her. Her eyelashes were so long. I loved her. I snuck out, as my door just recently had a hole fall out. I slipped through and snuck into my toy room. Shroom, that doll I was just talking about, her eyes were open. I always shut her eyes at 6:55 before going into my bedroom. She walked up to me. I faint. I wake up, my arms and legs replaced with monsters feet. My last memories. My last memories are her about to pluck my eyeballs out.

In case Becky finds you, you lose one of four life hearts, when they're down to zero it's simply Game Over and nothing else. I don't know about the hand though...
