    You can't beat a good old Donnay Slammer II. I got one for £10 and can outdrive my peer group with it including blokes with a £200 driver. I won a longest drive competition on a Stag day and it really pissed off the organiser. It's so good I bought a spare for when I break the first one.

    hit the nail on the head ! i had cheap irons to start playing a couple years ago and it helped me get hooked into the sport. The V300 balls at £20 for 48 are also great value, as a high handicapper I can feel barely no difference in hitting them compared to pro v1's and the like that i find .... added benefit is you relax and focus more, its only 41p if it goes swimming ....

    I took up golf at the age of 64 just over 8 months ago with an inexpensive set of clubs from another brand. The only clubs missing were wedges. Since starting I have bought 3 Slazenger wedges ( 56; 60; 64) for around £10 each. For very little outlay it has given me the chance to experience using wedges. They do the job and have made me appreciate the challenges wedges present to a novice golfer. On the course all of my inexpensive clubs have not stopped me being competitive with my far more experienced playing partners. Love the channel!

    I've been out of golf for the last 10 years and really needed to upgrade mydriver and 3 wood which were 30years old at this point. As someone on a very small.budget I got the slazenger v300 driver and 3wood with r flex graphite shaft. Was half price so cost 40quid including delivery. Not used them yet but happy with the price until I can afford a Callaway epic flash haha.

  • @samhirst7331
    @samhirst7331 4 года назад +2

    I bloody love that you've done this. About 9 year ago I won 150 at work. I decided to take myself to sports direct and I bought myself a slazenger panther x package set that I still use to this day. Driver and 3 wood(3 wood got broke by a friend at driving range). 3/4 hybrid. All 3 woods have regular graphite shafts. 5-SW and a putter. I haven't played much golf in the last 9 years but I'm now giving it a proper go and whilst these have served a purpose, I honestly can't wait to get rid of them 😂 they are decent for the price, they will get you through the early days of learning to swing, but they don't give me any confidence what so ever and I think I need atleast a stiff shaft throughout. I hit the driver with a regular shaft 270+ yards consistently. So whilst I've definately had my fun with these, I cannot wait to upgrade my bag and see if there is any difference because ive only ever hit my 9 year old slazenger package set and I'm desperate to try something different. Can't wait you see how you get on with the track man.

    I've not even watched this yet but it reminds me of when I first wanted to get into golf I went to JJB and bought a set of slazenger irons for £80. I think they were b51's or something like that. i loved them to the extent I'd love to find a set of ebay to use again for a round or two just to see if they are as good as I remember or if I'm looking back through Rose tinted glasses. Since then I've had ping g5's and now using Mizuno Mp30's and playing off 8. Ah the memories ⛳

Curious on how I should really approach teaching him and gear I should be looking for on a budget. Your videos, including this one have helped more than you will ever know. When I started to play golf I did exactly this. Went to Sports Direct and bought a £9.99 Dunlop 7 iron and a £14.99 Dunlop putter. I didn’t want to spend £100’s at American Golf at the time not knowing if I would even enjoy the game in the long run. The clubs served me well and I added an 8 and 9 iron and a wedge quite quickly. By the time I was ready to be let loose with a driver I went and brought premium clubs and retired the Dunlops which I donated to my local golf center for future learners of the game. I recommend anyone else considering to learn the game to start off similar. You’ll know when it’s the right time to upgrade.

    I currently have this full set of slazenger v300s and would recommend them to anyone.i shoot low 80s consistently.ive had the clubs for two years and they hold up well.i used to spend a lot more on golf clubs but there's really no point, don't waste your money on high end clubs it makes no difference whatsoever. It's all about the person not the gear. First learn to hit a golf ball out the middle then go watch how OMP from the golfmates channel plays golf. You'll enjoy the game alot more.stay on the fairways!

    Amazing incredible value. Guessing another £50 gets you a bag, trolley, balls, tees and a glove and maybe shoes?.
    So 150 all in?
    Just paid that for a round of golf in Portugal!!

    Henwick Driving range, my local range LOL, good review of these clubs, got the V300 Putter, its OK for me but actually prefer the Benross I got afterwards, but for the money, then no complaints, it does what it says on the tin (so to speak)

    Slazenger golf is owned by Dick's Sporting Goods in the US. They are a bargain brand in the states also, but have never seen them that cheap. Mostly individual rescues, fairways, drivers, and boxed sets.

    Great for beginners, but to be honest shop around and you will get a decent set for £100 on ebay. I sold a taylormade r7 driver, old great big burther 3 wood and a full set of taylormade 360 irons for £100. Now play mizuno mp53 irons and taylormade m2 2017 driver and these will stay in my bag until they break. All those cost me less than £300 Secondhand

      welsh golfer yeah 100 percent if you know what to look for second hand is the way forward. It’s just difficult I guess if you after the game, you don’t know what to look for. Thanks pal. 💪

    I re-started golf with a second hand set of these for £30, with a bag. Done me ok for 3month until I decided I wanted to play golf again.

    Rather than buy the driver and hybrid new,you can pick up loads of used ,but once top of the range clubs for little cost . 100£ is probably only 5 rounds ,so if you really want to play ,probably better to buy a coaching course for beginners .Since you're wasting ANY money on clubs ,if you don't have a swing!

    I plan on spending around £30 on a Slazenger Graphite 7 Iron and Slazenger 6 Wood. Got no interest in the full game, I'm purely a driving range guy and pretty much a beginner. Waiting on June 15th, END THE LOCKDOWN!
