  • The Samsung SWA-8500S wireless surround sound speakers have a notoriously, and frustrating low volume. I found a way to augment the speakers to make them robust and as loud as needed for any room. An easy affordable way to make a great surround sound system wirelessly. #PylePCA2

    This is a great remedy for the low volume speakers the Samsung 8500S rear kit has. So following your video I went and purchased 2 of those Pyle PCA2 amps, 2 of those RCA plugs, but also purchased speaker wire because in the video you show the speaker wire going from the Samsung unit into the plug into the amp. So I’m going to need speaker wire from the speaker into the amp and I will do one channel for each amp and each speaker so I don’t get that buzz/hum sound as you described. I will post when everything arrives Monday and let you know how it went! Again thanks for the video!
    *update* I hooked it all up and omg these Lil speakers now bang! They are loud! Awesome setup with 2 amps for both speakers! Now I got the surround sound! The video helped out a lot! Thank you!

    Thank you for this... I have the Samsung SWA-9000s rears and a Q80R Soundbar. Had the same problem everyone else did... I never reply to videos, but this is one great exception. Was on the phone with Samsung support for an hour and they said I've done everything on their list so there was nothing else they could do. So, I exchanged them since it seems rear speakers must be compatible with the Soundbar. Couldn't add Bose, JBL, or any other top brand. Got the new SWA 9000s and they were the same... NO SOUND... So, watched your video, ordered the PCS2 and accessories, just got done hooking it all up and WOW!! Had to turn the volume down to about 1/4 so they didn't overpower the Soundbar. Now I feel like I got my $1,200 worth! Thank you very much!!

  • @mottienunberg7228

    The reason that two separate amplifiers are needed is to prevent a loopback between the two channels/ outputs of the BT unit. T tried with one stereo amplifier (means two channels in one unit separate input , but it started whistling). Using two separate physical amplifiers, each side withown channel with own input (=the speaker) solve the problem as suggested and it is great now. Yes still have the Hum sound when the soundbar is off. So I do not switch it off at all. Thanks to all foe the advises.

  • @tamias82

    For me it depends on the soundbar mode. In DTS virtual X rear speakers are very loud without any additional amplifier. In adaptive they are way more quiet. But changing their volume to +4 is enough to make me happy

    Thanks for posting this! It's amazingly better and definitely improves on the rear speakers. I used a similar solution and it's worked out great. $30 amp (said 300w+300w) from eBay/China, made sure to check out the output wattage was capable. Then I used a InstallGear Ground Loop Isolator Amp Noise Filter ($20) to remove the white noise and hissing (didn't get two amps because of this). Additionally I spent about $15 on speaker cable and $5 on speaker wire to RCA adapter.

    Thanks for this video. Couple questions: 1. Why not run both rear L and R off the single Pyle unit? It looks like it supports a L and R output. and 2. Can you tell from experience if the 8500S is receiving the rear L and R surround signal from a decoded Dolby 5.1 digital signal or is it actually playing a L - R front stereo signal? Also, if your source is 2 channel PCM, do these rear speakers connected to the 8500S play at all?

    • @Beano987
      @Beano987 3 года назад

      He uses a speaker terminal to rca adapter. It has the same black and red terminals you find on the speakers, but, has a male phono on the other side, to plug into the amp. Just google ‘speaker terminal to rca adapter’. They’re cheap as chips.

    This works great and gives me true surround sound. I couold hardly hear the speakers before using these amplifiers. The problem I am having now is I get a hum out of the speakers when the rear speaker receiver goes into standby mode when the main soundbar is off. As soon as I turn on the soundbar, the hum goes away and it works great. Does anybody have any thoughts on how to fix this?

      Are you using the amplifier setup like he shows in this video? If so it is most likely noise either from the cheap amplifier, or other electrical interference. You can either lower the amp volume until the noise goes away, or switch it off when not in use.

  • @TeeFat
    @TeeFat 4 года назад +3

    This is cool. However, one can increase the volume of the rear speakers by using both remotes. On the sound bar remote, press the button that looks like a settings button a couple of times until you see rear speakers on the sound bar. Then wait for a second or two and press it again to select it. Then, use the TV remote to increase the volume. That's it. Someone posted these steps on Amazon.

    Careful not to blow those speakers. After all, they are rated at 3ohm. Odd how Samsung neglects to mention the total watt per channel and the sensitively of each speaker. I bought this setup for a friend of mine. Personally, from what I have seen, nothing compares to a set up with a single A/V Receiver, Speakers that are evenly matched in size, each consisting of a woofer and tweeter (Surrounds Included) watts, and sensitivity. I turn my subwoofer off, and I still have that robust theatre sound. You do the same with a sound bar, and the little surround speakers, and it reminds me of the days of sitting at the Drive-In with the speaker in the window. :-)
