My seldarine drow showed no hesitation in ending Nere. In his mind, slavers are beyond redemption. He also didn't let a single dueguar alive for that same reason.
i'm pretty sure at the beginning of the series she said she was recreating an old character. this is only part of her build; lorewise she's not doing an eilistraeean at all.
@@nikogarcia201 I've watched all the videos she's made, and Bellathyne seems to not have much will of her own when an attractive man is around. Her devotion to Eilistraee falls away, and she is willing to overlook a lot if a hot man is doing it. At least how she has been played here. I mean, it is praiseworthy that she wants to 'save' everyone, but in this case all Nere would have had to do was say 'Oh, egads, I've seen the error of my ways, I will help these Gnomes!' And then the second Bellathyne has rounded a corner, turned around and killed them and continued his slaving ways.
@@nikogarcia201 The rationale had to do with her character's POV, who was sympathetic to fellow Drow. Not every Drow who follows Eilistraee will behave in the same manner (my own war cleric of Eilistraee had no issue killing Nere but the appeal of RPGs is how much characters can vary from one another). When she briefly played a Paladin (briefly in terms of sharing the playthrough with viewers at least) the choices that her character would make seemed to greatly differ from that of Bellathyne (like how her Paladin would've refused to promise to drink the wyvern poison).
@@FriendoftheDrow i just have a hard time understanding how a cleric of a goddess of freedom would justify giving a second chance to a slaver right after witnessing his crime. Nere slayed that girl right in front of her and she saw the aftermath of the massacre of the Myconids and the gnomes under Nere command. The Sovereign showed her the mental image of Nere leading the charge with a smile on his face. People don’t choose to follow a god without being drawn to some of their teachings (unless you were forced into that religion). Any cleric of Eilistraee, especially drow clerics, should harbor a special hatred for slavery and Lolth. Also, it’s quite hypocritical to eliminate the Dueguars while going out of her way to spare the man that hired them in the first place. As a drow from a noble background (according to Bel backstory) she should know perfectly that her fellow drow are not likely to return her kindness. Also, why is she surprised that the mutiny finished Nere off. Duegar are as merciful as the drow toward their victims so she should have seen that outcome when she proposed that Aliance. I just don’t understand her logic even on a pragmatic level (since drow know better that trusting and Lolth sworn).
Duergar talks a little shit: You must die Nere kills innocent slave deep gnomes and talks a lot of shit: I must do everything to try and save him. Drow allegiances are wild.
And I thought Gale was hung-up on his ex! I haven't tested it myself, but I've heard you can interrupt the cutscenes by clicking on the swords at the bottom-left to save characters that get killed during cutscenes like with Nere.
Nere is an interesting one. I remember the rumors in Early Acess that he was set up to be a potential companion but was cut at some point. Some of the dialogue he has proves it, especially when meeting him in an evil run. Edit: I think something to remember is that Nere is part of the Absolute cult. He's speaking to you brazenly and rudely, even as a female drow, because he's no longer under Lolth. He believes in the Absolute, who does not (seemingly) discriminate or segregate followers. Lolth's teachings don't apply to him anymore.
It's a cool dynamic, Nere treats Bel as a member of the cult whereas Bel has a tadpole but is free of the Absolute's persuasion so treats Nere like they would any other male drow xD
can guarantee you that rumor is not true at all. however he was made into the game file in early access very early on. grim forge area wasn't available until EA patch 6.
Uh oh, Bell is an 'I can fix him' girl! I mean, Nere isn't some downtrodden drow male needing to see the light, he's already been liberated - by the Absolute. Thank goodness Thudd was there to save Bellathyne from herself :D During that segment, I asked myself whether I actually like her... then she pulled that shit in camp to manipulate her friends to buy into her boyfriend delusion and no, no, I don't. Interesting to dislike the protagonist in a story xD Interesting to see her path now.
Don't be upset about because of Nere. You could meet other, more friendly drow. Now gonna spoil anything without your consent. And one more thing - underdark and grymforge are ok, but don't go to act 2 or mountain pass untill you resolve goblin-grove conflict. It will lead to tieflings leave a grove and get bad times with goblins.

It's like you wanted to fail to save nere. you refused to get any of your party members closer so they could lower Nere's health while you wasted you turns trying to hold Thudd when it was obvious whatever you did to Thudd wouldn't last long enough for your TAV to drop Nere's health by herself.

First person to ever be so concerned about not killing Twat Soul Nere

if you want opportunity attaks you need to switch back to your melee weapon after you make a ranged attack

Our boy thudd is the real hero!!
Your mission was to cut Nere’s head off and bring it to the myconids
Yes, but she was following through with what her protagonist would do, which is why she tried to save Nere.
An ally standing next to an enemy allows for sneak attack, but it doesn't give advantage. Also a neutral character doesn't count as an ally.
