Do you think the new Kindle 11th Gen is worth it? Are you planning to buy it, waiting for a sale, or sticking with your current e-reader? Leave a comment to let me know!
The light on the basic is such a harsh blue that it hurts my eyes. The text also looks less sharp when the light is on for some reason, or that may just be an affect of the light straining my eyes.
The Kindle software hasn't really changed in years and that's really sad. The user interface, customization options (custom screensaver), reading statistics, etc. The eReaders deserve more attention. I ordered the Kobo Clara Colour today. I'm hoping for a nice change from my Kindle after what I've learned about the Kobo.
The font size on the 11th gen looks larger than on the 12th, meaning it would naturally have fewer words and lines than the larger display. I understand it is smaller and will have less text even at the same font size, but can you confirm what the font size was on each model during this video? It may be my perception of the fonts that is incorrect, not the fonts themselves, so I'm curious.
This e-reader is flawless during day light but the screen light is such a harsh blue it’s comparable to someone stabbing you in the eyes with two light sabers.
I really dislike when people call it the "budget" or "affordable Kindle." It implies the Paperwhites and above are superior. I have had the Oasis, Scribe, SE, and the base PW. I will always prefer the Basic. Not because it's cheap, or budget, or only viable while traveling. But because it offers a VERY enjoyable experience. EDIT: Also, I'm jealous! Your borders are so symmetrical. Like, where the front bezels meet the back plastic. Especially on the top, there's literally no gap. I've seen quite a few units with uneven left or right cracks and a thick gap on top. I know mine does, alongside a sharp (as though it were not sanded) line on the left-hand side. It's quite sad, really, this will be my second time exchanging. I'm hoping I won't need to a third time.
Hey there, I completely understand where you're coming from. The "budget" or "affordable" label isn't meant to imply that the Basic Kindle is inferior in quality or experience. It simply reflects its price point within Amazon’s lineup, making it an entry-level option compared to the Paperwhite, Scribe, or Oasis. That said, I agree the Basic Kindle offers a fantastic reading experience! It's lighter design, compact size, and crisp display make it a great choice for many, regardless of price. I’ve heard similar stories about people preferring it for those reasons alone, even after trying higher-end models. Also, sorry to hear about the uneven gaps and sharp edges on your unit-manufacturing inconsistencies like that can be frustrating. I hope your replacement is flawless this time. All the best!
Do we know if Amazon still allows you to send files (i.e. your books!) by USB direct transfer to this type of Kindle? They seem to have prohibited our ability to do this with the 2024 12th Gens.

It actually doesnt matter much if you are reading a good book. warmlight is a bit overhyped.
If it has warmlight, they aren’t reason sale kindle paperwhite 6 😂😂😂

I like that it's pocket size

Is eight lines fever contagious?

They have a new simple way of sending to Kindle now, which is through the web
there's a video on this channel on what formats work each way (copying thru USB or sending thru email)
i dont mind the kindle paperwhite price but the size and weight are a big turn-off for me! Less portable! Even heavier than my KPW2 (2013)!
Isn't it the 12th gen?
Don't know why but Kindle doesn't keep it consistent like that. New Kindle Basic is 11th gen while new Paperwhite is 12th gen 🤷♂️
@@howtotechstuff oh wow, that's so weird (and especially confusing to those who'd like to buy used)
