Nice movie... The music is soothing.... Makes the scenes more interesting... 👍
An amazing portrait of a psychopath: cool, calculating, endlessly patient, dispassionate, unforgiving, with a cynical sense of humour.
Directed by Irving Lerner in 1958, this is quite unusual in style for a noir, but I thought it was a success. When I was part of a noir group on FB and it was shown on Noir Alley, half loved it, half hated it. Very much worth a look.
Great music and intelligent script
The music reminded me of “Zorba the Greek.” Very orderly and repetitive: days in the life of a contract killer.
Very different. Like movies from much later on.
Very good movie! Won’t give away the ending.
A mix between murder Inc with Peter falk, and the enforcer starring Humphrey Bogard
Classically funny the music makes a comedy out of a grim story
At 43:49 there's a whole row of German G-43 rifles on a rack in the foreground. Just war surplus back in 1958, mail order if you wanted.
And the Oscar for Most Annoying Soundtrack goes to...
“The hit is a woman.” “What? Why didn’t they tell me it was a woman. It’s not about the sex, but the money. I would’ve asked for twice the money.”
Spoiler
Well. Ok.
Pretty bad, it loses it's direction and fails in almost every way
