This movie was so good I can't stop thinking about it a day later. That portrayal of a black family was so beautiful, so profound and so real that it nourished my soul. I saw my own father in Blue. I never even knew about this movie, and it has hit me so hard that I'm still reeling from it. It really shined a light on just how much today's TV shows and movies are pure trash and poison. I don't know how any black person could watch Love and Hip Hop or Empire or think about Cardi B or Offset after seeing this. I saw 1,000 times the dignity and honor in that family's struggle and love than in Future buying his 6 year old a Rolex and 10 Lambos.
I cried to my self and think of the same way. My father is like blue but he had a carpenter job forty/ fifty dollars an hour, that couldn't fit the value of blue, but he work some money to ge t out of those Inglewood projects,we lived in the garden bill today area in the Bronx. I do miss the tall buildings and subway cars. Thank d to all the blues around this world, jusy keep you n planning a good will.
My wife's father was like this, As a blind man, he kept a "good" hustle to provide for his family. Running a small homestead to make ends meet for his family was what kept him being proud.
Wow I didn't know that Mr. Cosby did a film with the legendary Gloria Foster. This film must've been buried under the archives. Thanks Mike and Charles for unburying this.
Bill made more than 1 film with Gloria Foster- Man And Boy, Top Secret & Leonard Part 6. Plus she appeared on The Cosby Show, I Spy & The Bill Cosby Show too.
I know all too well the pain of losing a child to this horrible disease! My son lost his fight against it 3 yrs ago. I'll never recover from my loss😢! Thanks for the upload 🙏🏽
I remember this as a child. Loved Gloria Foster. A dynamic actress before succumbing to cancer. This the era when Black men walked tall and strong and protected family and community. None of this stuff with men wanting to dress like Big Mama and aunties! Late 80s men started leaving their families as plants in the cities closed and crack cocaine became an alternative to hiring honest money. Lil boys left with no role model but Mama, grandmom and key females in their lives. Now they confused, preferring to be she-male and lil girls growing up without father figures being used and abused and becoming strippers. Even if this was a poor family that husband and wife were ride or die. Listen to their dialog in this movie. He addresses alternative to being a hard worker to being a hustler and getting locked up and "leaving you unattended." This is the love I grew up seeing. Men protecting family and being providers. Bill was handsome
This was definitely a great flashback of the 70’s Black family life people definitely didn’t show the power couple struggles with some positive in the house husband didn’t drink just found more useful way to make money these are facts
