Good coverage as usual, but very often, when its a Nordic disc brand, Jomez does not show what disc is used. In this example: Is not Orums discs from Westside known? He has been playing them for years - why cant we see what discs he is throwing?

I also love how hole 7 is all hazard instead of OB. That makes it a lot more forgiving for how far it is.

Iowa is definitely one of the nicest courses played during the year, but the one hole I don't care for is #9. If you could redesign a hole on this course (if any) what hole would you change?
As a Des Moines native, and a casual player myself, the two I dislike the most are #5 and #18, as I'm too inconsistent of a player to reliably *not* lose my disc in the pond, and before it was redesigned for this tournament, #18 was almost nearly a quarter mile - too long for my noodle arms. But it's always super cool to see the pros play at a course local to me! Iowa has a lot of rolling hills and forest that make for great courses and parks.

Before we have watched the round, anything about the round is a spoiler. How can you say there are no spoilers?
I understand what you mean, but i prefer to experience watching the round without any knowledge of who’s leading or good/bad shots or anything later in the round. Nobody’s being crowned champ yet, but the experience as a whole is an important part of the story being told.
A good example was when niklas won, i knew nothing going in to every round and I enjoyed watching the whole story much because i didnt know anything before each round.

Definitely, it’s super close and since players are the officials it will likely never be called.
Same with jump putts, most of them are technically foot faults because everyone that does it is in the air and in front of their marker before releasing the disc 90% of the time

I don't understand why so many good sidearm players are opting for the backhand on 5. I think I've seen 2 out of maybe 7 drives sneak through that right side.
I was thinking the same thing. As a lefty I was thinking how much easier that would be for me because the left side is so wide open to come in with a basic hyzer, and then all the righties start challenging all those branches hanging out over the water.
Makes no sense to me.
Can we only save chase card check ins for only final round unless it’s a crazy throw in or ace?
So you only want to watch the 4 people on coverage playing the course until the final day?
That would make a lot of first round coverage especially very boring

This course should switch the front 9 and back 9. The front 9 is full of iconic holes and the back 9 is mostly just boring par 4s.
I love how weird Matty O is so much
44:15 Matty O throws a great shot that takes YEARS to throw shot that good. Then Braeden throws the exact same thing, but just better, and is completely overlooked by the commentary 😢
anhyzer: outside edge of the disc is tilted upward at the moment of release.
Flipping, hyzer-flipping or turning when released flat or hyzer, cannot become anhyzer.
Hearing the fundamental discgolf terms being used incorrectly… 😢
I think the jomez guys just talk about the same thing differently. They will differentiate between "anhyzer release" and "get it on anhyzer" for something that flips up during the flight and goes slightly past flat.
I think "hyzered out" is a more common term for "faded". I have rarely heard somebody say their disc faded. I read the glossary of terms on the innova site. It also says a "cut roller" can't come back. I have always understood a cut roller to be a roller that cuts significantly when it lands. I would never have guessed that technically, if it cuts then say hits a rock, and rolls onto the top, that is not a "cut roller".
This is an interesting topic to me. I found that udisc references the concept of "hyzer" being used colloquially to reference flight, rather than just angle of release. This caused them to decide to use the colloquial term in some sections of their descriptions.
Assuming RHBH
Anhyzer = disc goes right
Hyzer = disc goes left
Hyzer flip = disc goes from hyzer angle to anhyzer angle
When did they use the terms incorrectly?
Some folk insist that the terms refer to the release angle specifically. I find it somewhat redundant as for example your terminology catches every case unambiguosly. To add, Flex = anhyzer start, hyzer finish. Flip up = hyzer flip to just flat with decent fade.
Seriously Matty O just get the little rubber nose bits for the glasses. Simple fix.
I'm noticing that the ranking of each player on the card is now listed as their placement at the time, even when other players have played more holes than them; rather than before when it was where they place after every player had the same amount of holes. Was this done on purpose? Or a change with their score tracking? It feels like it's misleading when lead player starts the round at "T18." Maybe I missed when/why the score tracking system changed.
Why is no one asking about the weird cat thing between Jerm and Paul...? Thing is creepy.

Anyone else immediately thought about the usually bad rep of the B sides on records but in this instance it´s the opposite with a great performance by Braeden?
Love the player introduction coming back; I miss it. I got really tired of half the players saying they were throwing frisbees for the glory of god, but I still think it was a net positive.
Please do less of the check ins on other cards this early in the tourney. Ruins the flow imo

That ad for DGN was almost enough to make me turn this video off.
I'm a simple man, I don't see Buhr as a leader after one round and I'll click. He's a nice guy, but almost too good. Nearly guaranteed win if he's in the top 4 of the current round.
It's definitely more fun to see a battle than a run away, but I like watching Buhr. All the funny videos he and Alden and crew made were so great. I also like thinking about what's going through his head. Every tournament it feels like he can either play well or put down some pavement on the path to greatness. People seem to think the field is too good and there will never be another dominant player like McBeth and Wysocki, but AB and Buhr still have a chance if they can lock in.
Matty O constantly fumbling with his shades is so goofy. Man, just get some sport shades for crying out loud. Smh

Why do you change the people we watch? Yesterday it was different people, stay with the same people all weekend. No offense to these guys but I don’t care to watch them. Where’s Barela, Buhr, Lizotte, McBeth, Aderhold, Heimburg?? I want to watch but I can’t without these guys it’s so boring

I will say this card is kind of a bummer. Matty O is awesome obviously but the other guys are kinda meh but kudos to them for playing well!
First day they cover the feature card. Usually last year's winner, previous winner and a few other big names.
After that it's the lead card (top 4 scores) shown from there on out.
