FYI, the police car that was parked in the parent and child bay was attending an emergency call. The bay was right outside the main door. The police can park wherever they like if attending a call as road traffic laws dont apply to them whilst attending 999 calls, or actively pursuing a vehicle, and they really have the time (nor inclination) to find a suitable spot.
I was going to ask about that. Same is where I live. Traffic laws don't aply. However, since they respond to a call, they have to signal it by turning the lights on (still talking about my country).
Here in the U.S. cops actually DO have to follow all traffic laws. They arent above the law(in theory), they just enforce the law. Okay, I hear you and you're making a very strong point that I'm not disagreeing with, but I'd like to offer another facet to that. I'm an almost 40 yo married woman now, and I have said this, and I have found it to largely be true of times when I was drinking. Yeah I didn't want to do whatever stupid... sleep in a wheelbarrow... but I absolutely meant it if I said something (loving or otherwise). Most embarrassing example: I was blackout drunk and told my roommate I was so glad he was gay because he's SO hot and I didn't want the drama of like... tension... with him since I had a boyfriend and I really wanted to be loyal and not have to worry about that. He told me the next day just to poke fun and I was like "oh shit he knoooows...." 😱 But also... even drunken me was concerned about having a strong relationship with my boyfriend (now my husband). I really think there's a degree of just... too much honesty that comes with the release of inhibitions, and with that you get a peak at what's really in there. Then again, sleeping in wheelbarrows.

Okay, I hear you and you're making a very strong point that I'm not disagreeing with, but I'd like to offer another facet to that. I'm an almost 40 yo married woman now, and I have said this, and I have found it to largely be true of times when I was drinking. Yeah I didn't want to do whatever stupid... sleep in a wheelbarrow... but I absolutely meant it if I said something (loving or otherwise). Most embarrassing example: I was blackout drunk and told my roommate I was so glad he was gay because he's SO hot and I didn't want the drama of like... tension... with him since I had a boyfriend and I really wanted to be loyal and not have to worry about that. He told me the next day just to poke fun and I was like "oh shit he knoooows...." 😱 But also... even drunken me was concerned about having a strong relationship with my boyfriend (now my husband). I really think there's a degree of just... too much honesty that comes with the release of inhibitions, and with that you get a peak at what's really in there. Then again, sleeping in wheelbarrows.
