We recently came back from a trip where we were traveling to Kenya, and we learned a few things that we wanted to pass on to you.

For the roads....they can't build tarmac roads in the parks....they try to keep the park as natural as possible with little human interference

As far as safari experience and in general: Kenya or South Africa - which do you recommend?
Kenya any time! The home of authentic African Safari, Kenya has diverse attractions spanning over 23 game parks and game reserves. Sample this; Wildlife photography safaris,air balloon safaris, helicopter safaris, hiking safaris, camping safaris,bird watching safaris and horseback safaris all comes with different perspectives to enjoying nature. The only thing that Kenya don't do and can't do is the hunting safaris. They do it in SA but it's not a Kenyan adventure

Thanks for the info ... we have booked the Neptune Mara Rianata as well . I thought itbwas within the Mara reserve . Damn I didn't know it was an hour drive to reach the reserve . How was the camp by the way ?
You are recommending to go to Masai Mara with a tour where the lodge is inside of the protected area, however the safari tour you are recommending in the description have an off-side camp accomodation. Do you have any other budget safari recommendation with accomodation on the side of masai mara please?

After you opened your MPeza account how do you fund it- can you give them US dollars to transfer and change into shillings- what happens if you leave Kenya with unused MPeza money?
Yes, they can deposit equivalent in shillings of the amount in $$ you have. Alternatively, change $$ into shillings then deposit into mpesa account. For unused mpesa money, just transfer to hotel receptionist,airport outlets or taxi drivers and they'll give you in cash

Hi, we can only tell you what January is like, since that's the month we went in. A quick Google search will let you know what it's like in April

It is the only one. But you might want to check with your countries travel advice as they'll know better what vaccines you should get. For example, for me they also suggested Heppatitis A.
Make sure you have the YFV immunization documented with the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis aka “yellow” card

There are bathrooms at the entrances you can use, or else you gotta make a bush toilet!
Was it difficult to get the beach scammers to leave you alone, or did they go away when you said no a few times? That sort of thing makes me so anxious that the last time I was in Mexico I wouldn’t even leave the resort. The minute you do you get swarmed.
