    This is honestly my favourite Guns & roses or maybe I should say Axl Rose song, it's just so incredibly musical and emotional (not even November rain makes me feel all these emotions like this song). Axls vicals are just insanely good, the emotional guitar fits perfectly with this song. Slash is one of the best guitairists ever but I don't think his style would have really fit this one. Sad that this song is so underrated because the album didn't do that well as it deserves its place among their best songs and more people should here it, sure maybe this is not for everyone who more like hard rock rather than rock ballads but no can deny that musically it's pretty much perfect and that Axl gives one of his best vocal performances ever.

    This had amazing potential to be an awesome Gnr classic and songwriting wise it's amazing and Axl sounds even greater than before. Even the orchestration is pretty amazing. The guitar solo did nothing for me and sounded pretty boring while it was one of the most amazing things on November Rain. Not bad, but don't feel anything of the epic raw power we had from Slash. I wish they revisit this song and make it an epic classic like November Rain and Estranged. It would have the potential to be a 10-minute song and do a lot of buildups and be heavier on guitars also. Also, an epic piano solo (like in Estranged) would have also fit this song extremely well. The song is great, but it would have had the chance to be a classic if done right.

    • @bardonmusic
      @bardonmusic  2 года назад

      you make some solid points here. as with everything related to this album it sounds nothing close to 90's GnRs and that could be off putting if you analyse it as such BUT as you mention the track itself is really well done but the question is if it really is a great GnRs track... I guess is a matter of personal taste. Thanks for you comment, never looked at it from your perspective!!!

    • @RenegadeAngel
      @RenegadeAngel 2 года назад

      @@bardonmusic If you listen to the old demo of November Rain that Axl did in 80s then you feel it has somewhat of a similar feel to this one. When others chipped in (especially Slash with two of his greatest guitar solos in one song!) really made that song into another level. If they had the same magic as in the early 90s and started working together on this song in 2022 then I feel we could have gotten something that could have been very close to November Rain and Estranged. Even if play in the same band and have a very similar vision of what it should sound like you can often easily say who wrote what part and what lyrics if you have been following the band closely.

    • @teijaflink2226
      @teijaflink2226 2 года назад

      Interesting points, I just thought that Slash playing wouldn't really fit this song as it wouldn't give this same kind of more simple and raw emotion I feel. But you have good points and definitely could have been bigger and become more commercial if done the way you say. I kind of personally prefer tge song this way but definitely more could have done with this great song to make more something for everyone and a classic which is kind of a shame too as Axl gives one of his best and most emotional vocal performances.

    • @RenegadeAngel
      @RenegadeAngel 2 года назад

      You don't know what you have missed. Songs become classics when enough people like them. This album has certainly been hyped out of existence, but nobody cared too much about it. Slash certainly showed with both November Rain and Estranged that he can play ballads with intense emotion. I just keep waiting for drums and guitars to bring in the energy they need to push this song forward. It's a catchy and emotional song, but feel it never really takes off and makes it inferior to masterpieces such as November Rain, Estranged and Don't Cry. I feel that just extending this song and with some completely new arrangments and guitar solos by Slash we could have a song that would become as big as the old classics.

    i love this song, top 3 songs off of CD by far. but BETTER THAN NOVEMBER RAIN?! cmon, man, really? this isnt even GNR at this point, its just Axl. by far, my favorite song is You Could be Mine. T2 is my favorite movie, and it reminds me of so much of my younger childhood, and You Could be Mine is engraved into my head w/ nostalgia. but, my point is, altho i love This I Love, its nowhere NEAR the masterpiece of November Rain

    • @bardonmusic
      @bardonmusic  Год назад +1

      Actually "you could be mine" is my all time GnR favorite track and T2 is just perfection made action film, but when it comes to this song being better that November Rain I think that the fact that Nov. Rain has been played to death at this points has somewhat eroded its reputation, don't get me wrong November rain is an absolute classic and one of the best rock song ever but I still consider "This I love" as if not better at least as good as Nov.
