the video doom dada can be seen to as a reference to dad or dadaism which is and avant-garde art movement, An art movement that birthed post-modern art, abstract art and surrealism, and TOP uses surrealism and abstract art throughout the entire video. Including images from Kim Whanki and Salvador Dali, and while introducing pieces of artwork in the video they also take a life the there own ( the deer) interacting with TOP in various ways. TOP also alludes to a variety of critically important films that come from various countries. All of which are very influential films, such as " The Leopard" , "Dr. Strangelove" , "Brazil" , 2001: A Space Odyssey" , "The Cabinent of Dr. Caligari" ,"The Blair Witch Project" and even "The ZooTrope" which would eventually birth motion picture to begin with, And the common threat in the entire Music Video is TOP who seems to be traveling through all of these various artistic periods and eras seeing himself evolve from ape to man and back again but always bringing music and rap with him, while also leading the evolutionary path which could also allude to something simple like him being head of the rap pack but in combination with his lyrics it could also protray a deeper message one that could urges people to return to music and an art form that can make an impact on the world rather than just from money. - Martina from Eat Your Kimchi

Great break down. This is one of the things I love about this song and vid - this is some really excellent next level allusion and reference. The only one you missed that I think has major resonance is the figures walking across the dunes which alludes again to the evolution theme by referencing Zallinger's March of Progress.

When I look at some of these reaction vids, longtime fans either never know the meanings, or give inaccurate ones, and here I am, only 2wks old to kpop, yet I know more than them, cuz I'm not afraid to use the net!
I have been watching many people's reactions to T.O.P's video. I laugh as I listen to people's comments. I suppose it is a generational thing or maybe an art history student thing, but I think many people don't know that Dada was an art movement that preceded Surrealism in the early 1916-1923 or so. It was a way for the art community to protest, including poets, to protest the horrors of war.
