I liked the Story of how Shon picked Arnel from watching him on youtube to look for the next lead singer for Journey,but what was more touching was Arnel's background of where he came from and how his life was it touched my heart with tears and even though I know Journey fans had a hard time excepting a new singer that is filipino he deserves a chance,he's a great singer and now from the fans they respect him and love him,God bless your future with Journey Arnel and always pray for success.
You can feel on vocal voice the song you can feel the pain, love, survival and love of music. He got it all! He simply amazing. Arnel Pineda you made us proud. Keep it on singing. You are truly gifted👏👏👏

I cannot thank hem (Neal Schon) enough for discovering the Philippine's talent...From Magellan to saving us from WW2 to be free and sing our heart out to be discovered again.I cannot push Steve Perry aside its because he had open the challenge and compete us Pilipino to be competitive to the world. LOVE all Journey.

Let's not forget Neal Schon, who never stopped believing that Journey can still take the next leap. He is the man. He saw a very good talent, the talent from another part of the world. He is also humble to accept an Asian member and his humility paid off. Journey has moved from an American band to a diverse, global band of seasoned talents. Who knows, Journey may accommodate a female member.. (?)

Female? Lol let’s not push it. And if it hadn’t been for Perry arnel wouldn’t have gotten that spot. Everybody that filled in Perry spot was a filler to carry on the band name forward and arnell was the only one thus far to accommodate that. Huge huge and I mean huge shoes to fill but arnell came from a humbling place and he knows that too. He has loads of respect for Perry as well. Arnell for those years he became apart of that band he gave it his all and nothing but respect I’m sure it was a lot of tears and sweat sleepless many nights for him and lots of Sacrifices and adapting to newer environment for him as well. Give that man props he helped bring back the band to stay alive. It’s hard very hard to sing like Perry did and arnell seems to come the closest even tho never a match. But he is good at his own right as well.
Dont forget Arnel's #1 fan in PH who didnt stop believing on him and waits 3 hours in a computer shop just to upload one of their gig song in youtube.

I like the movie. It was amazing how hard the lead singer works between shows. Keeping his throat warm and taking all kinds of hot tea and other things to ease the throat. It is amazing how much stuff bands have with them.

I have had the honor to see this band with 3 different singers. I saw them with Perry, Steve Augeri, and Arnel. Arnel was my favorite. Perry was obviously phenomenal, but if you like the "Legacy" sound (in other words, you want it to sound like the record), Perry is rough. He does so much noodling and improvisation when he performs that you can't sing along quite as well because he is doing his own thing. He also prefers the songs more up tempo, so the groove is often lost. I HATE the way they did Stone in Love for example with Perry because that basic groove is gone when they play so fast. With Arnel, and even with Augeri, they were truer to the original recordings. Again, I love all three! But Arnel was my favorite to see live.

CURRENTLY, the band is overextending his voice. This is TOTALLY their fault. They seem to feel they must play him out, hard... like time was running out...and it WILL IF THEY DO THIS.
Correct me if i am wrong because Arnel said in the interview that America is Perry's country i think it's not because he is a portugese.

12 years later now... we saw them recently. I think they've lost something as a band. I don't know if it's the legal issues between Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon or it was purely just fatigue from the road... idk, but something felt 'off'. They didn't feel like a band. They seemed almost like despondent co-workers who just showed up to work that day and did their jobs. Did them well, don't get me wrong, but the enthusiasm just wasn't there.
Why in hell is this not available in download format? I just ordered the DVD from Amazon and delivery is a month.

I don't think Arnel Pineda is Filipino. With that long hair. He look like an ancestor of American Indian people. I am joking. Don't take my word. I am not serious. His last name Pineda somewhat spanish. A lot of filipino mixed spain people and also mixed chinese. Because a lot filipino women likes married different nationality or married foreigner..Well, and so american man and woman too. white guy married black women. That's why we all beautyful people. Arnel has a great voice but just coats over the enunciation of the songs. Like when you forget the words to a song and you sound it out. He's just very good at it because Steve Perry has many songs where his powerful voice exults. The new singer is good at masquerading that. Steve Perry made Journey..., hence, the Journey you hear today is a good tribute band. A tribute to Steve Perry.
The Philippines is a country full of amazing talents, but ppl look for them in the west.
