Thanks. I am going to play with the Castle Link settings a bit anyway. I have the throttle curve set really low. Yes it is probably cogging, but I need to adjust a few things.
@coltenavila differential. If you ever notice on a snowy day in a 2wd car if one wheel is on the ice and one is on the pavement ALL power will be transfered to the tire on the ice. This problem was resolved via locking diffs which supply equal power to all wheels so it prevents sliding and gives you a hell of a lot more traction.
They are starting to make them, but not the mamba yet. I got some 2s packs just for the Summit, and I have my throttle curve way down. As well as a 10% punch. I basically set it to gradually take off in second gear so I don't destroy the drive train. Thanks for the heads up though.
Nice work brotha! Definintely 10/5! :) Love the SUMMIT with the mamba. looked like you had a bit of cogging in low gear though when crawling. You should put a sensored brushless system like the HV Pro from Novak on there. It doesn't have any cogging at low speed. But awesome video once again!
Thank you. I have just figured out how to get the quality a little better. So get ready for a little looking videos! Yeah, Jetlag2222 and i should get a little royalties from Traxxas. lol Not really, I just point the camera at it and have fun. Thanks!
Yeah, that is normal. You will love the E-Revo BL edition as well as the summit. They are the same truck but perform totally differently. Both are awesome.
Your videos and tips has been enough strong to make me buy my Summit. I did it but I have to wait until it arrives!. And guess what. My next buy will be a E-Revo 1/10. Thank's for your time and share your hobbie.
does it come with everything you need to drive it right out of the box? Like batteries chargers plugs? I got a Bandit like 2 years ago and it didn't come with the battery and charger
No worries, I haven't really gotten fully into the whole crawling thing yet. I might at some point. I know the Summit is not the best crawler in the world, but it sure is a blast.
@mempey ... Hey Man,, what gearing comes with Mamba Monster... on your video you showed there that it could still crawl... also... have you tried it running with the stock gearing and whats the stop speed?... thank you.... whats also the top speed when you just use 5000 mah nimH battery...
Surely gonna need to get the MMM and that radio for my summit too, i say this onto you, Damn you for making it look so good that i gotta buy it now. But til then i'll just have to get speed from my jato =).
Pretty much. I need to mess with the settings on the ESC. I have a little cogging going on, I might be able to fix it. But it does great, I put the mamba in because I absolutely hate running nimh.
I don't know, let me check.... Ok, the stock E-Revo body fits but might be a little tricky on the rear mounts. I also tried a ProLine Slipstream body. I think it will work a little better. It looks pretty wicked by the way. I am going to try it tomorrow, maybe make a video at some point. That is a cool idea man! I am going to steal it, but I will give you credit in a video if I do one.
Yes, that's the one I want. That will be in a few months. This is my first weekend with my Summit, and I'm going to use it for the first time with my youngest son. By the way, ther's a low shrill noice when the motor is working. Is that normal?
Sorry I am just now seeing your questions. I shot this video with my Canon HG20. I waterproofed the ESC with liquid tape. Just brushed it all over the circuit board.
I would for sure. Only thing is it is not waterproof. It does cog some, but I can deal with it. I would say it will hit about 45mph with the big tires on it.
From all of the Traxxas vids I've seen, is it safe to say a Summit can do anything an Erevo can do? W ith basic parts swapping( tires, springs) plus it is insanely better at rough terrain. Love yours and Jetlags vids. Keep them coming.
Mempey, how is it 2.4GHz? Did you put in a diffirent receiver and transmitted? And is it stock or did you add the mamba monster parts. Nice suspension on the summit BTW. Good Video! 5/5
No, you can't run a brushless motor with a brushed ESC. You have to get both motor and ESC. Keep in mind it will not be waterproof. You can put liquid tape on the circuit board to waterproof it but any pressure from the water will short it out. Plus it will void the warranty.
im just getting back into the rc hobby scene and i have probably a stupid question but what is the difference between a e revo and a summit? besides looks and locking difs
Sorry for the slow response. The main difference is the ride height, the Summit has longer rocker arms so the ride is higher. Yes the diffs and looks are the big difference but the rest of it is just bumpers, body mounts, etc. Exactly the same truck for the most part. I did a video on changing my mini erevo to a mini summit. It shows all of the differences between the trucks just in mini form. The changes are the same for the large scale trucks with different part numbers.
I painted a snow camo body that has a light bar, this is the stock body that has the light bar on it. I also have an all black one. It will be in the next video.
@Bigfurry1975 if you have locked the diffs whilst on road or under high power then they will break. There only made to take lower torque and for crawling. You can use them with a mamba but don't don't lock em when ur going to do high throttle start or on road.
Very cool vid and cool song Traxxas Summit kicks arse got mine this month!!!Ty for posting!!
Thanks man! I love the Summit. Best of both worlds, crawling and speed.
I thought "More Human than Human" would be a fitting song. Glad you liked it.
Thanks. I am going to play with the Castle Link settings a bit anyway. I have the throttle curve set really low. Yes it is probably cogging, but I need to adjust a few things.
awesome video mempey! I love watching the videos that you and Jetlagg post.... excellent quality and lots of COOL stuff! Thanks!
yeah for an all around, do any thing vehicle it is awesome. does it wheelie?

Thank you! Best Summit Crawling video I've seen yet, FINALLY someone who knows how to crawl in a Summit!!
You are welcome. You are going to love the Summit, and especially the E-Revo. Are you getting the Brushless Edition?
Really cool video. How did you rasie the ride height on the summit so it dosnt fall so low to the ground,
Nice work brotha! Definintely 10/5! :) Love the SUMMIT with the mamba. looked like you had a bit of cogging in low gear though when crawling. You should put a sensored brushless system like the HV Pro from Novak on there. It doesn't have any cogging at low speed. But awesome video once again!

I think they come completely ready to go out of the box now.
Thanks for the comment and stars!
Damn dude, I'm real jealous of your summit.
Another 5 star vid and nice touch with the white zombie.=)
what method of waterproofing did you use? and has it caused any heat issues?

please respond

Thanks! I use a Canon HG20, and a GoPro HD Hero
Great cinematography work........
No worries, I haven't really gotten fully into the whole crawling thing yet. I might at some point. I know the Summit is not the best crawler in the world, but it sure is a blast.
i keep blowing my rear diff with the mamba monster ... any ideas on what i can do
@mempey ... Hey Man,, what gearing comes with Mamba Monster... on your video you showed there that it could still crawl... also... have you tried it running with the stock gearing and whats the stop speed?... thank you.... whats also the top speed when you just use 5000 mah nimH battery...
Does this thing still have a lot of torque?
@mempey hey buddy, what size, kind and how many batteries are you running in the vid, thanks
Surely gonna need to get the MMM and that radio for my summit too, i say this onto you, Damn you for making it look so good that i gotta buy it now. But til then i'll just have to get speed from my jato =).
It is the Traxxas 2.4ghz system with a transmitter and receiver. i did add a mamba monster to it and run 4s in it.
Pretty much. I need to mess with the settings on the ESC. I have a little cogging going on, I might be able to fix it. But it does great, I put the mamba in because I absolutely hate running nimh.
Are you going to get the 1/16 Summit? If so pls review it!
I might at some point. I was disappointed that it doesn't have locking diffs.
great video, super quality!
current which cam do you use
do you hve any idea if an e revo body or a revo 3.3 body will fit on the slash without the nerf bars?
hey im thinking of doing this but do you have to change the stock gearing for the mamba monster motor to the summit
How'd u mount ur cam on the slash cuz I wanna mount mine on the inside of my slash but dnt wanna buy the go pro cam.
Good Vid!!!
But don't have problem to put a mamba monter sistem in the summit, he still crawling?
Greats back to you, thanks!
superb vid !! i love it !!!! U r a very good driver !!!
awesome vid! haha i swear @ 2:36 thats the 1st time ive ever seen a Summit jump. *****
I don't know, let me check....

Where did u buy the go pro at
Yes, that's the one I want. That will be in a few months. This is my first weekend with my Summit, and I'm going to use it for the first time with my youngest son. By the way, ther's a low shrill noice when the motor is working. Is that normal?
Nice work! Great video!
Sorry I am just now seeing your questions. I shot this video with my Canon HG20.
I waterproofed the ESC with liquid tape. Just brushed it all over the circuit board.
again a perfect vid mempey
greats from austria
Mempy, what software does slow-mo that runs on windows? Any reccomendations?
I'm having diff problems with my Mamba Monster Summit. I'm thinking about selling it and getting either a brushed motor E- Revo or E-Maxx.
I would for sure. Only thing is it is not waterproof. It does cog some, but I can deal with it. I would say it will hit about 45mph with the big tires on it.
thx, i always like watching those type of vids
you should do a summit overview when you get all your hop ups put on it
hey mate got any mods on it? your a fantastic driver!
From all of the Traxxas vids I've seen, is it safe to say a Summit can do anything an Erevo can do? W ith basic parts swapping( tires, springs) plus it is insanely better at rough terrain. Love yours and Jetlags vids. Keep them coming.
It would tear it apart, way overkill.
Mempey, how is it 2.4GHz? Did you put in a diffirent receiver and transmitted? And is it stock or did you add the mamba monster parts. Nice suspension on the summit BTW. Good Video! 5/5
It is the 2200kv. I run the stock gearing. I love my Summit! It is bad azz. Glad you like my vidz.

I set up my summit to be two wheel drive it’s super fun in the snow

that seems like a small difference in product and a big difference in price. i still think the summit is amazing. and thanks for the help
scale 1/16?
I painted a snow camo body that has a light bar, this is the stock body that has the light bar on it. I also have an all black one. It will be in the next video.
The first time i took my stock summit to the offroad race track the thing that holds the wheel up broke off 4 times and i had to locktite it
Awesome I need a summit lol
I used liquid tape. It eventually failed and ruined the esc when I hit it with the water hose a little too hard.
The MMM comes with a pinion gear that you can use with no problem.
I think it was (2) 2s lipos from Turnagy, 4000mah
Those will be fine, but you will need to turn off the low voltage cuttoff on the esc.
Your welcome and thanks.
@Bigfurry1975 if you have locked the diffs whilst on road or under high power then they will break. There only made to take lower torque and for crawling. You can use them with a mamba but don't don't lock em when ur going to do high throttle start or on road.
Brutal video! Cool
hahahahhahahah i lol'd at the 487 cartwheels hahahah lolol
OOHHH Yeah it does. It would do a back flip easy if I ran 6s in it, but I don't want to shred the tires. lol
Thanks Dragon. Thanks for the stars.
Any drivetrain problems
if you could also check the fit for your revo 3.3 body on ur slash please, thats all my hobby store has rite now
awesome can it do wheelies
Thank you
The summit is basically 1/8 scale and the mamba monster is meant for 1/10 or 1/8 scale.
I will get on it asap.
@treehustler97 Yes they are.
Thanks man. That's what a Mamba will do for ya. lol
Thanks
Thanks!
Very nice video! 5*
can the mamba crawl as good as the titan 775, BTW Great vid 5/5
It is for sure.
I CANT HEAR THE SUMMIT OVER THE MUSIC
Not yet.
Thanks man!
great vids glad i subscibed
I use Adobe Priemere Pro, not cheap though.
thanks a bunch i got the idea cuz i need a body that will fit on a slash with talon tires and yeah make a video if u want it would be sweet
They do wobble a little, I don't know the top speed.
Mine didn't.
Don't know, haven't tried it on 6s, just 4s. I am not about to blow out 80 bucks worth of tires.
As far as I know the Traxxas ESCs are the only ones that are waterproof. None of the Castle ESC's are.
A little cogging but it isn't bad. I was running it in this video on 4s. I like it a lot better.
i thought the summit would burn up the momba monster
No just the ESC, sorry in my late responce.
Thank you, drive well... maybe, fly well... not so much yet. lol
