Thanks Peter. I think Sir Dudley would have been a fascinating chap to meet! I was pleased that I found the big oak that you highlighted in your video but , embarrassingly , I couldn't spot the big beech . There were quite a few splendid specimens to see in that wood, for sure.
Wow that was a video packed full of delights! From the smuggler's tales, the interesting snippets of history, great scenery, lovely old trees and the Logan moments - I see he realises you will be back to pick up the camera! Great to see him chasing the ball too. Taking one for the team at the end also with the Big Mac!
Another great video. Loved hearing about the smugglers of the New Forest and the Warne family. I believe there is a very interesting book on the subject. “The New Forest - It’s Scenery and History” J R Wise. 1863...Again thank you, and looking forward to the next video.
Another great walk that stirred up a memory for me, yep you guessed it the late sixties early seventies back when the first eatery at Picket Post was an old green converted double decker bus, would often pull in there for a burger & a cuppa, very popular it was back in the day Dave.
Well I say Mr Logan, I was certain your mate Dave had some fries in his lap at the the start of the "in car" scene. The BigMac supprised me though! Thank you both.
Good walk with great research. Next time we meet up I could tell you a few stories about Sir Dudley. Thanks Dave.

Thanks Jean. Yes, Logan is getting wise in his old age!
Nicely done as usual Dave, and an interesting walk. Thank you for sharing....Paul and Suzanne.👌👌👌
Thanks to you both. :)

Thanks - I shall certainly look that book up, sounds interesting.

Thanks John. The Mcdonalds (despite the nice toilets) doesn't quite have the same charm!
Thank you for another interesting video including the toilet humour.
Thanks Colin. I must admit that I never thought that I would be discussing "Loo of the Year" awards on a "Countryside Walk" video!

I just couldn't resist it!
