Yeah, it's literally what difficulty level changes in this game. The AI gets bullshit rolls and avoids every pitfall in their way. Thankfully for Dan, he just had too many properties for the AI to get through every single time.
There was the one playing of Monopoly where it was Arin or Dan (forget which) vs. one of the Hard AIs, with Arin having 90% of the properties and filled them with houses and hotels, and the AI just kept getting Chance and Community Chest and Free Parking and Jail. They went, like, 6 or 7 turns around the board without hitting one of Arin's properties once.
With the amount of times the computer juuuuuuuust missed every single one of Dans properties for what seems like 50 fucking rolls, there is no way that "Hard" isn't just "get the right number on the dice every time"

This version of Monopoly is pretty notorious for the AI "cheating". I think the way it actually works is it rigs rolls based on waves of "good luck and bad luck". If you watch closely, you'll see that for individual players will often get a series of terrible outcomes. Last episode it was Arin paying Dan money, then paying $100 to Chance, then landing on Boardwalk (though owner was in jail). The game basically decided to target Arin for a bit. Especially with Hard AI, you'll see just how often they "thread the needle" at the endgame. It's pretty unrealistic to avoid a death-row for 10 trips around the board when rolling a 7 would mean you lose, for instance, but the AI often do it when they play this game.

To answer Dan's query: Janitor is strictly cleaning duties, where Custodians tend to have duties beyond just that like basic repairs and/or plumbing/electrical maintenance. So technically yes some custodians would feel slighted if you called them a janitor, but in the sense of like if you called a college professor with a phd a high school substitue teacher with a bachelor's. There's bit more involved.
I like this session of Monopoly because neither Arin nor Dan can heavily influence the game, with 4 NPCs, it’s a more natural experience where 6 entities can generate money via collecting $200 to stimulate the (non)monopoly economy
Every time he was putting a house on the blues I was feeling he was crazy for doing that when he could instead unmortgaged the brown properties and then used the turbo cheap house prices on brown properties to choke out the number of houses in the game

This game of Mono Poly was ridiculous from start to finish, and I loved the cut in the first episode to Arin being pissed at landing on the dark blue property. It's peak.

I couldn't look away from the screen because it was so interesting to see all 6 players with their own ideas on what they want to pay for a property, then leading up to making deals to secure Monopoly's, even the computer clearly giving better rolls to the Hard Ai, all of it culminated into a fantastic game of Monopoly the likes of which I've never witnessed before. I just don't get how Arin doesn't realize the best method to beat Dan is to just deny him the monopolies. in this session, he just let Dan complete the first monopoly when he could have stolen the property, even if overpaying.
It drove me crazy when Dan had basically no money and still decided to buy a house while he was right before the opponent's properties with expensive hotels on them. And had to sell 2 houses to pay when he landed on them. If he didn't buy a house with such low money, he would have two more houses. Edit: He did it again! 🤦♂ And also when he just gave them the orange monopoly.
This was the best monopoly run ever. Dan slowly earned this victory through good decisions and even had a few close calls with pulling the game ending chance card and having to mortgage/sell houses on more than one occasion. But the icing on the cake was the seemingly infinite luck character landing on boardwalk with a hotel on it. Absolutely perfect run, they should try 6 players on a non-auction game and see how it goes. It definitely put more money in the potential pool for them to get houses with.
most servant roles are actually pretty nice words. a butler is a bottler, someone who takes care of the wine. a custodian has custody of the place. and a janitor is in charge of the doors, he keeps keys to all the doors, because of Janus, the god of doors. Buut a lot of the other words just mean 'boy' or 'girl' so those aren't as good.
For whatever reason, when you commented on the Monopoly man pointing to his hand, demanding money and then started shouting, as him, I immediately thought of John Malkovich, which honestly would make for a Mr. Monopoly to be feared, indeed. You never know what he's capable of.

Man...I love the tension of this video of not knowing who was gonna get nailed first...but it's also kinda painful when you know that Dan could've had the game on lock 20 minutes in by selling his hotels and buying houses on brown to lock everyone out of more houses while still having well over $300 in pocket. xD

This was a blast to watch! I couldn't look away from the screen because it was so interesting to see all 6 players with their own ideas on what they want to pay for a property, then leading up to making deals to secure Monopoly's, even the computer clearly giving better rolls to the Hard Ai, all of it culminated into a fantastic game of Monopoly the likes of which I've never witnessed before.

I just don't get how Arin doesn't realize the best method to beat Dan is to just deny him the monopolies.
in this session, he just let Dan complete the first monopoly when he could have stolen the property, even if overpaying.

This was the most fun series of Monopoly yet, from a gameplay standpoint at least! I really loved it.
It drove me crazy when Dan had basically no money and still decided to buy a house while he was right before the opponent's properties with expensive hotels on them. And had to sell 2 houses to pay when he landed on them. If he didn't buy a house with such low money, he would have two more houses.

And also when he just gave them the orange monopoly.
This was the best monopoly run ever. Dan slowly earned this victory through good decisions and even had a few close calls with pulling the game ending chance card and having to mortgage/sell houses on more than one occasion. But the icing on the cake was the seemingly infinite luck character landing on boardwalk with a hotel on it. Absolutely perfect run, they should try 6 players on a non-auction game and see how it goes. It definitely put more money in the potential pool for them to get houses with.

most servant roles are actually pretty nice words. a butler is a bottler, someone who takes care of the wine. a custodian has custody of the place. and a janitor is in charge of the doors, he keeps keys to all the doors, because of Janus, the god of doors. Buut a lot of the other words just mean 'boy' or 'girl' so those aren't as good.
For whatever reason, when you commented on the Monopoly man pointing to his hand, demanding money and then started shouting, as him, I immediately thought of John Malkovich, which honestly would make for a Mr. Monopoly to be feared, indeed. You never know what he's capable of.
Danny *almost* losing to his insatiable greed multiple times was not the stress I needed watching this episode.
