  • The Yurikamome Line is a 14.7 kilometer automated guideway transit with wheels (often mistaken for a monorail) that connects mainland Tokyo to the reclaimed land areas of the city based in Tokyo Bay, which include popular frequented areas such as Odaiba and Tokyo Big Sight. There are currently 16 stations on the train line and it takes about 30 minutes to travel from the track's beginning to the end of the line.
This video showcases a cabin-view and the train travels from Shimbashi to Toyosu.
This is an original film recorded on October 21, 2021 around 4pm (before sunset)

Thanks for the video. The ride between Takeshiba and the first part of the loop is quite amazing; the moment the harbor and ocean fully appears; the Tokyoite layering of infrastructures.
I wonder if you didn't set your recording volume slightly too high, it seems that the sound saturates each time there is a big jolt, which are unavoidable with this type of rubber-tired trains due to the lateral guides.
The AC is also very present, were you under one?

Thanks for the continued support, Samuussman!
I agree! That stretch of track is really beautiful, especially during that time of day with the sun setting.
Thanks for the feedback on the audio! The sound recording settings that I used for this video are actually the same as all the other videos, I've made so far. I'm wondering if standing at the very front of the cab, had something to do with the additional sounds. I wasn't really aware of any AC around me, but I wasn't specifically looking for it. I'll be sure to look around the next time I go out to record.

      You are welcome :)
Recording always brings out and highlights audio elements that we are not necessarily aware of. When listening, the AC was only noticeable when using headphones and added a slight and almost uncomfortable pressure to the recording. But it was barely noticeable when using earbuds. ACs can be very annoying to deal with when recording, as they are rarely something we want to record when documenting such specific soundscapes.
Yes, you chose the perfect moment of the day to record that video, the sky and the setting sun made it even more beautiful.

I love your vids! A polite request would be if you could add the kanji for the station names with the English. But nitpicking. Really great vid

Thank you for watching our videos! We truly appreciate it! We actually started to add the kanji in (Oimachi Line video)! We'll try to do that every time from now on.

I hope to be riding this train (or any other train in Tokyo) soon again. And while riding I will make sure to listen to "Tangerine Dream Love On A Real Train", as it´s used in another youtube video, which features the same train ride :))

I can't remember which train I took when I went to Odaiba. I've visited the Miraikan museum. Great video btw!, the camera is very stable and gives a great view 😎. I wonder if the drivers don't get bored doing this

There are 2 lines that connect to Odaiba: Rinkai Line (below ground) and the Yurikamome Line (above ground). Hopefully that helps you remember how you got there :) Thank you for your kind comment! The cool thing about the Yurikamome Line is that there is no driver, so they won't get bored. :)
