I cant stand whitlock, he gets too technical with this stuff, therefore he contradicts himself and rlly has never stood with the black community on police brutality. What a big fat liar.
Jason, you are a sad excuse. I see your bosses got you completely under their thumbs. This has been a topic of discussion for over 400 years. What more is there to talk about?
The cops will just get smarter and resort to less overt methods of corruption; these methods never get press attention unless heavy, verifiable, damage is already done to the victims. And color does not matter in that regards.
When people join together things change. When we use the pronoun we, then we can work on the problem. The video of George Floyd sickens me as I am sure it sickens almost all of US. That should not happen to any one of us. We (all inclusive we, all Americans) can change this if WE work together.
There is a process. The FBI will be investigating this and the four officers will likely face a trial. Looting the neighborhood and shouting racism makes the problem worse. Celebrities and the msm running their mouths creates more racial division which is what democrats want. It gets them votes and power.
@@petemoss9324 You are spouting rhetoric without any facts. White people do not get away with killing black people. We have justice system based on the law and facts. I will agree that cops need to be held accountable especially in this case where it is obvious that this cop murdered that man. I don't like it either how a cop can get off by using the words 'my life was in danger'. Many times it is true but in some cases they messed up and the system needs to hold them accountable.
Nor did he mention the lack of video of police brutality against white people. When there is video, there is an outrage, but it is apparently it up to black people to get the evidence for white Americans being killed by police too.
Agreed it's sad people don't talk about this. NFL owners chose money over fighting oppression and so did the NBA players. It's not only wrong when it happens to our people.
That’s not the definition of racism. All Whitlock is doing is advising athletes and people in general to be more solution oriented instead of being over-emotional. Being emotional doesn’t solve real life conflicts
This is not about race. If the cop had been black would you still have been outraged? If the victim had been white would it even have made the news? Bad policing is bad policing regardless of skin color.
You need comprehension skills. It ain't about blacks and cops. You are the problem and reason why people don't care cause you make it all about you. You and others like you are the racist keeping and hold us back as a society. It's not just white vs blacks. It's people vs. Injustice. Asians, Hispanics, Middle Easterners, and some whites face discrimination and injustice as well and we are stronger if we stand together and fight together. Mentality like yours is not going to solve anything, just gonna make people resent African Americans more especially those that already dont care.
Over 300 unarmed whites are killed by police and a little over 100 blacks. These cops should be prosecuted but "daily basis" is a stretch. It's an injustice..and an injustice must be met with law and order...not the "race card"
The point being made is when you use racial language in your expression of your problem with a societal issue that affects people across race, you are more likely to divide and agitate than reach amicable, efficient solutions. Whether it’s more or less one race than the other, the point is what’s the beat way to achieve results that affect change.
@@dundalis This wasn't an accident this was done by a persons choice of action. ok whether I say fix it for me, you, black, white or whatever demographic you wanna use the POINT is it's wrong regardless. Before people claimed the policing issues were made up & it shouldn't take an incident directly affecting you for people in power to address these issues for example (We know homelessness is a national problem but politicians won't address it unless they themselves become homeless then they WANT to fix it asap.)
@@dundalis He gave no way to solve anything or offered a way to discuss on the level where anything could be done. Why is he always going after the athletes that says something about it? Those athletes that are saying something on a stage where it could make an impact. Which is precisely why he's able to speak on it. Get it?
If the athletes and the media didn't say anything about it then it's be swept under the rug just like before all the social media and technology advanced.
So Black people suppose to turn this into a all lives matter when so many deny that this is even a problem? We speak up for our own. If they care then we can come together and talk.
His point is part of the reason nothing has changed is that we've made this an us problem. Look at the end of the day humans care more when bad things happen to them or people that look like them. If we involve EVERYONE in showing just how corrupt the police can be we can get some real change
That’s what MLK did, it’s just politics we need to be united on issues such as this and pointing fingers (even when their is a reason to point) isn’t doing anything
Studies show you are likely to get shot by a BLK cop if your BLK over a white cop. So doesn't that say it's not about race but just about police having too much power?
@@brandonpurdy7658 ok I c i have to treat y'all like lil kids lol, telling black ppl not to make this a race issue is a sad statement from a black man, we don't see this type of b's in other communities, common sense tells u that theres a problem with the white community n racism, address that 1st lmao
His point was that it’s a societal problem. It is not uniquely black. He was saying that the only way you are going to get white people to care is if you show they are also affected by police brutality.
Would you have been outraged if the cop had been black? Would you have had a problem if the cop had been white and the victim had been white? The point is that bad policing is bad policing regardless of color. To make everything about race only makes the problem worse. Whitlock tries to have an honest discussion about policing and race.
I mean police brutality affects all races...it's just obviously disproportionate with Black people...I get his point of telling people, "it affects you too" but that still doesn't fix the driving force of the disproportion which is racism and bigotry... what happened to George wasn't just police brutality, that was fueled by racism.
boricuafrican people like Whitlock are full of it. If innocent black people are being targeted, harassed and murdered everyday then it does no good to try and ignore color and say it a “people issue”.

@@mny1981 nah...the ALM doesn't address what happened to George though...that was beyond police brutality...that was an evil racist hiding behind a badge.
All lives matter. But that isn’t the discussion. Black lives matter is the conversation because they currently do not matter to the police. It does not matter to many in power. If you need to say all lives matter just because someone says black lives matter you are choosing to not see the pain in the black community and now have made it about you.
I'm not a fan of social media but if it wasn't for social media and technology giving the common man the ability to report what happened so the man can't spin it and justify it.
Mr Man can’t be a fraud if you’re a man of color who’s dealt with racism and then decided to stand actively against it. If he was white, maybe. But he put his career on the line for this cause because his gf opened his eyes to the severity of problem. Kap probably didn’t realize it as much at first because of what you said about his upbringing- BUT- look at what he did once educated. That is commendable AF. All you can ask to stop this is education and then correction. Kap is no fraud hes the epitome of growth understanding and action.

Sorry for your loss Whit, but you loss me when you said people are trying to only make it a black issue. You brought up the fact that more white people have been killed by police compared to blacks, but didn't mention that it's solely because of the fact that there are more white people in the country than blacks. The biggest issue with police brutality, outside of the fact that it happens, is the fact that police are RARELY held accountable. The athletes and social media bringing attention to it will always be a good thing, especially since the normal media will rarely discuss it. And more white athletes/celebs could easily come out and speak on it too but choose not to for whatever reason. I wonder why...
Are you so naive that you believe that black people are the only ones being persecuted in this country? Read a history book. Police brutality is a problem for all races.

I agree will.
@Ace Shabazz No black man could never ever ever storm any building with a gun and not get a full clip emptied in his direction
Police brutality is not a significant problem in the black community.
Jason, you are a sad excuse. I see your bosses got you completely under their thumbs. This has been a topic of discussion for over 400 years. What more is there to talk about?
Patrick Kelly instead of his parents getting into his behind they probably talked it out with him and gave him a cookie 🍪
The cops will just get smarter and resort to less overt methods of corruption; these methods never get press attention unless heavy, verifiable, damage is already done to the victims. And color does not matter in that regards.
So true.
When people join together things change. When we use the pronoun we, then we can work on the problem. The video of George Floyd sickens me as I am sure it sickens almost all of US. That should not happen to any one of us. We (all inclusive we, all Americans) can change this if WE work together.
WE FIGHT WE FIGHT WE FIGHT WE FIGHT WE FIGHT WE FIGHT
There is a process. The FBI will be investigating this and the four officers will likely face a trial. Looting the neighborhood and shouting racism makes the problem worse. But u hate that athletes are speaking about the injustices we face on a daily basis. This is racism at its finest
This is horrible policing not a black issue. IF you want to talk about race then also talk about black people having a much higher crime rate...
There's a racial aspect to policing even if not every instance of police brutality involved overt racism.
Policing was engineered to get the poor and slaves in line...Thats the history of policing

Wiley starts at 7:30 , I skipped once he said police brutality isn’t a black problem.
Whitlock hit us with the all lives matters jawn
They do... When all lives are getting killed.

The biggest issue with police brutality, outside of the fact that it happens, is the fact that police are RARELY held accountable.
