I suggested some rubber grips, like I have on my outdoor kennels, to protect a similar ramp, or even the same, from the elements, so that it could be used outside too. Plus, it will provide more grip & help prevent it moving when Sherap stands on it, or when Jamie is driving, giving Sherpa a better feel of stability.

A smaller one for outside. Doesn’t need to be as big. I’d make it a separate ramp. Keep Fairy dog mothers one in the van. Right where it is
The existing steps are ok, but they aren't wide enough. Another 6 inches width would make Sherpa more confident.
Yes, I have suggested Jamie also using a particle board ramp cut wide enough for Sherpa's safety, and cover it with a dollar store latex shelf liner wrapped around the board to make it non-slippery (also, removeable & washable). That's what I use... Cheap, cheerful and effective. ☺
Finally a ramp for senior Sherpa! Couldn’t that ramp be used to help Sherpa into the van as well? Steps are harder on arthritic joints than a gradual incline 💖💗

Sherpa’s facial expression are awesome, he has me in stitches. Him bounding around the field, no words for how adorable he is. Sherpa you are without doubt the cutest, most precious fluffy boy out there.❤❤❤

@@daniellewoolley8607 1000% agree Key & little Nook are precious & adorably cute too. It just that I have a teeny tiny soft spot for Sherpa & Jamie they have me in stitches in every video, with Sherpa’s expressions, his backchatting etc. Both Key & Nook have me in stitches too (I’m subscribed).
They’re all gorgeous, I also love Phil, Teddy, Niko, Milo (life with Malamutes), Clarence (Jimmy & Clarence), Layla & Luna (Layla The Boxer) & (more recently The Berner Bunch) the list is endless. Oh mustn’t forget The Girl With Dogs too. I love dogs & other animal. The dogs I’ve mentioned have helped me through 1 of the worst times of my life.
You need another wood ramp hinged to the vans floor and swings down to enter and vertical to close the door.

WOW! Thankfully someone sent Sherpa a dog ramp!!!! ❤ Now all you need is a ramp to get INTO the red van. For this video he was hesitating too long to use the steps. A ramp would help him with his sore joints. He's such a sweetheart. Some will fold up and you can store it in the far side of the van on it's side, or within reach for you..
This was a very emotional moment for me, seeing Sherpa getting up and down the ramp. Last year we lost our sweet little boy named Arrak and seeing Sherpa struggle reminded me of the last few weeks he struggled with motion. I am so happy that Sherpa gets to do what he likes the most with his dad.

I have that exact same emotion...my Husky was 18 when the end came.
I see things Sherpa does like backing up and taking test runs before boarding.
Sherpas legs were tired towards end.
My dog would not use ramps and we tried some many types and made different ones.
I'm glad Sherpa tries the ramps.
My Husky Sky lived to 12. We think the Dasuquin tablets improved his hip issues. He was a legend as all of our pets are!

I smiled through the whole video. I love seeing Sherpa running around on his wander, as well as wanting you to throw the ball to him, he is like a puppy during those moments.
Jamie, I think the ramp makes things so much easier, and he’s already got it figured out. I’m thinking maybe you should get another ramp for the entrance into the van. It’s seems easier for him than the stairs. He seems to hesitate with the stairs, with the ramp, he can walk right up into the van, then the other ramp to get up to the bed/couch so he can be close to you.

I often call my Dad an old fart! It just means you're implying someone has become stuck in a boring & stale routine. Just like the odour of a stinky fart that stubbornly lingers, refusing to budge, no matter how much air freshener you use, or how long wide you have the window open for.
The other slang term us Brits use is "you boring old fart!!" which is usually used toward older generations, who refuse to accept that society & technology have moved on from their younger days, with life somehow being worse today, in their eyes - "It wasn't like that in my day!" "In my day, you wouldn't day backchat to me like that!" You know the types. Always right & everyone else is wrong. It can be used in both an affectionate manner, or a more serious way, in essence telling someone to zip it & keep their opinion to themselves, because nobody wants to hear it from a person who themselves refuses to listen to others.

That is exactly what I was referring to, glad you got it sorted. My dog has wooden ramp I made for him made such a difference as he had similar accident on steps that Sherpa had and was weary afterwards.

"Shot through the heart" (Bon Jovi) is what it feels like every time I watch Sherpa going forward, then backing up a few times before he finally gets up the steps. Today is Sat. and I just watched the latest video, a trip to Wales. It was obviously taken some weeks ago bc there are no new steps or ramp in the van. Jamie videos everywhere they go, but who knows how he decides when to show them. The way my brain works, though, I sometimes wish he'd show them chronologically.
