THe problem with this episode is that it doesnt make its goal clear. If this was meant as a character study, art haus, short film, then it achieves that goal brilliantly. Spot on. 10 out of 10. Full of subtext and metaphors and atmosphere.. But if it was meant as part of a "horror" anthology, where the audience would expect the horror to be the point, or at least a main ingredient, then it kind of wandered off topic and tossed in a little bit of horror at the end as an after thought. And that left people feeling a little... lost, as to what they should have expected. The characters were not characters but "types". Very typical medium, typical scientist, typical writer, musician.. But they represented an aspect of human interest, curiosity and creativity. So it wasnt like a deep dive into characters but more like a basic setup for something really interesting to come. And the first half of the episode is just hyping up the thing to come, the "item" we're all meant to be viewing. It is all setup, making us wonder, what kind of extraordinary thing a guy like this could have? A guy who has that whiskey, and this architecture and personal music made etc.. what kind of unique item excites him so much? All, long, admittedly interesting and well written setup, but still mainly setup. That didnt really pay off. We are hypes so much about the item, that an alien popping from an alien egg falls a bit flat, horror-wise. And all it does is kill or posess people? I at least expected something more mental, more fundamental to human interest, maybe something about giving into vices or something more relevant to the first half of the episode. When its just body horror and murder, it does feel a bit hollow and pointless. All built up with very meh and irrelevant pay off makes it feel a bit pointless
damn, i need those song. the best i found out, these tracks maybe related to Randal Dunn, and i found some similar tracks with his name, but not these tracks also found this in another yt video: The soundtrack was made by Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never
Not all parts are in the song called The Viewing Suite by Daniel Lopatin who also produced some of the music in Dawn fm such as HDIMYLM? Listen to both and you will not be disappointed with the electronics :)
@@vishi95 exactly what i was thinking. makes it a little sad as well. its too good! do you know any songs/playlists that are similar to this song? i was thinking of vaporwave but this one here sounds more funky
Each of the songs on that episode should've had their own full length song.
Absolutely. I'm still looking for those songs lol
