I honestly think Connie would've snapped if things got worse think about it in the past few weeks His friend died His other friend seemingly went crazy and did a terrorist attack causing the entire world to target your home Said friend then took miltary control of the government and is seemingky working with his headcase brother to steralize your entire race Your home then gets attack by your other old friend who was a traitor The friend from earlier then says hes going to destroy the entire world He then gest a chance to save his mothed by sacrificing a kid but cant go through with it because your other other friend convinced you not to. And finally another old friend of yours whos also a traitor who massacred an entire military division and city as well as almost killed you shows up again right next to you eating a pie. Its amazing he didnt go crazy
I agree with the interpretation that he laughs cause it's just too much but I really don't think they showed that well and this scene just was really not good as a result. The fact that no one reacts to annie is insane and I hope next episode can correct this week's rushed feeling

Armin’s pretty much accepted/reconciled with it, while Connie’s just fucking done. He didn’t see her female Titan to begin with, so her betrayal definitely hit less than Reiner and Bertholdt’s. Even then, he was crying in s3 when they thought they’d killed Reiner.

They literally used an atom bomb and killed hundreds of inocent civilians, Eldians included. They know better than be mad at her when she was basically forced into attacking them and now is even willing to help. Then they dont know shit about annie, they have had no talks with the warriors really, eren did - then why would they assume annie is on their side? Last time they met she tried to kill them... I am not saying them "teaming up" cant happen at all, although I dont like that choice, but the way it was done is just terrible. Also I kinda checked but where was connie loughting there? I didnt saw anything tbh. and even if that is the case, that then was a one time thing, he didnt do that before or afterwards once... nor was it shown or hinted at that it is some sort of cope...
