I’ve used ForeFlight for years and I really like it. The best thing is that you don’t need any additional equipment to pick up traffic on your phone as long as you have a cell signal. Unfortunately flying I did show my phone having one or two bars of 5G and I was not receiving ADS-B data. My main concern is that my renewal is up in about two months and every year it seems to go up in price. I originally got the basic for $99 a year and now I think this year it may be 130 to 140 for the same, basic usage.
That really is unfortunate. I’d also be careful to rely on internet based traffic reporting for real time traffic alerting. It will be delayed and incomplete.
Foreflight is the best option for professionals. If you are training to be a professional, start with foreflight and stay with foreflight. It is expensive but it is objectively the best, cost aside, and it is what you are going to want in the future. If cost is a factor, or maybe you are just a lifer hobbyist not really flying that much, Fltplan go or FlyQ is what you are probably going to want to use. Most of the functionality at a significantly reduced cost
I have a life subscription to FlyQ and they recently announced that those of us with that subscription are going to have to get a new app from them which will get updates but that they have no plans to update the app itself. So it will become useless rather quickly. The original company was bought up and now profits are the only concern for the bosses. They are going to force us to buy their new apps with new subscriptions or move to another app. Sad that there is no loyalty to consumers anyone.
I disagree with many of your reasons. FlyQ is updated a lot and usually comes out with a feature before foreflight. Everyone doesn’t use foreflight! It is the most popular, bot less than 50% of pilots in my EAA club does.
FlyQ Seattle Avionics was bought up and pilots with the life time subscriptions are getting the short end of they stick, as they are with the typical line of Corporate Bull$#/t not going to honor the agreement and the lifer’s will be forced into their new app with a new subscription or move to a different App.
Receiving ADSB traffic on the EFB is ADSb in
You’re right. Brain fart. 😅 I was thinking receiving ADBS out from others. Thanks for the catch.

Can you share the link to that case? Thx.
