    What a lovely and informative video! The hat is gorgeous and what a great way to cover the glue spot on the top. Thank you so much - I learned a lot and feel more confident about my project now. I recently learned what the expression, "Mad as a Hatter" meant. All those the chemicals they used to use in the olden days to make hats went to their head! So I am particularly glad you included in your tutorial a "non-maddening" glue to use!

      g dc Thanks you so much! You're right about the toxic stuff that used to be in use; thank goodness there are alternatives now.

    Beautiful hat, and I like the way you include how you covered the glue patch rather than it magically dissappearing lol. Really enjoyed the tutorials thank you for sharing your knowledge :-)

      Haha - totes! Millinery IS so much hard work; it really does make you see that often it's better to leave the hard stuff to the "professionals", and pay them to do the work for you!! ;)

    Very nice job. I want to start making hats. I grew up in San Francisco, California and when I became a women I alway wore a hat. I miss wearing hats and thought I would start doing it again but this time I want to make y own. Thanks for your inspiring video and you are great in front of the camera. Very natural most of the videos I watch with women are very much over the top, which I might add I do not like. Thanks again

    • @trashtastika
      @trashtastika  6 лет назад

      Thank you Nombulelo! I should've protected the hat block with plastic first (my bad), but my main goal was to show people it is DOable, and that anyone can do it :) It takes a while, so can be easier just to buy one - but once you know how, you can make one in any colour you like to match an outfit, and in almost any shape, pending what block you can find :) Glad you enjoyed it.

    I love the hat. Thank you for sharing. Can some type of comb or clip be used versus elastic?

    • @trashtastika
      @trashtastika  6 лет назад

      Yes, of course - and less detectable too :) It all depends on the curve of your hat, and if your hair will hold the clip or comb.

    How do you make sure that the glue ABSOLUTELY doesn't seep through to the goo side of the hat? I'm scared to death that the glue will seep through. I'm making a Fleur Delacour hat from Harry Potter which doesn't have any trim or anything on it, so if it seeps through, I cant do anything to cover it. Any advice?
