Oh my word you are soooooo stinkin darling!! The hat was great but YOU my dear are truly entertaining! I’ve been under the weather and you made my day. I look forward to trying this too. Out to fetch my ball.
@@JackRabbitHollowProductionsreplying to this 9 years later because I had the exact same experience. Came for a tutorial that I didn’t need but stayed for who I was watching on screen. Subscribing on the off chance you start posting needle felting tutorials.
My goodness, this is just the Bee's Knees, and so inspiring. You made the process look like such fun that I am hoping to try it someday. What a great gift you two have for making a wonderful, unique, intertaining, educational and joyful tutorial. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Oh my goodness! Hahahaha what a fantastic, amusing and informative video. Thank you so much for not using the boring monotone voice/dodgy loud tunes from most other RUclips tutorials. You actually make it look fun. Congratulations. Awesome.
Morgan this is such a great video! You taught me loads about hat making, but also that I can do it in a little space without having to worry about it! Also, I loved the way you fit it to your head, and the way that your own hats change throughout the video. Thanks a million!
Morgan my girl, you remind me of my circle of hippi girls 50years ago! Glad to know artists like us are still going strong! Just finding you in 2018!!! Great fun ,you are! Nostalgic for my dear ones already transisted! Keep up your lovely ,inspirational, teaching! I hope you are doing the festivals thing!! with profit !!Xxoo Your Aunti D
Terrific Tute on Felt Hatting, great use of fast forward editing, kept it simple and demystified felting for me, thank you. I had bumbled onto this video and now have some ideas of what to do with my farms working dog hair. Loved Your special little helpers Tshirt, took me back to my wife's home town, 'Go The Ducks', This from Tamworth, 'a country capital' of Australia.
I went looking for a tutorial on wet felting a hat using something around the house for a mold. I came across your tutorial and loved it. Thank you so much Morgan, I shall now go and make my hat. I have trouble uploading photos, so probably won't be able to show you the end result.I am going to put a link on my facebook timeline. Thank you again from Australia.
Jo Smith Hey Jo! Thank yo so much for your comment. I hope you hat is fun to make and comes out fantastic!!! Feel free to contact us on facebook to share your project. facebook.com/pages/Jack-Rabbit-Hollow-Productions/294755377238421?ref=hl
great video! love the commentary, was actually just here to freshen up my felting knowledge but i couldn't stop smiling, and laughing! don't think i learned much but i was certainly entertained!
Starfire Fox thanks so much!!! I’ll pass on your kind message to Morgan. Did you know she also has a band called sweet Radish? If you want to see more of her check out the new patreon page at patreon.com/sweetradish Thanks again! Comments like this really make our day ❤️
Gurl....you know you look good! I got to have me one of them hats! And one for Mr. Lonnie my 204 pound Great Dane pup. Oh yeah, we are gonna be styling and profiling. Walking very tall and acting extremely rich! Now all I need to know is where did you get all those wool pieces? 😁🤗
What a GREAT video❣❣❣ Not only do you teach how to make the hat but you have an Amazing Spirit❣❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Looking forward to watching more of your videos🤗🤗🤗
I like the idea of putting the soap on the ball to help the fibers stick. We didn't do that in the class I took, and getting the panty hose on over all that wool on a slippery ball was a pain in the butt! This looks much easier, and I'm going to try it this weekend. Enjoyed your approach to hat making!
Dear Morgan - came across this video a few days ago and fell in love. You are fabulous. I shared it in a Facebook group I belong to (wet felting) - getting lots of love and shares there! Thank you so much. You should teach workshops! XOXO
Morgan! I loved this video & loved meeting YOU, as that's what it felt like - meeting you! So Thanks for being 'human' on camera - and you might want to consider a career in Comedy . . . just sayin'. I have a enormous head (24 inches) & I've only found one hat (for women) that would fit me - ever! And I LOOK for hats. As I really want the look of wearing a hat, I KNOW I'll have to make my own. I'm just wondering about what kind of ball to use. You say that yours will get smaller and larger? That sounds like a wonderful thing to be able to do, if I decide to try to make them for others. Any idea on where to start looking for the 'proper' ball? Also, do you know how many ounces of wool you use for your hats? Have you ever made silk hats? If they're light, I imagine starch could be used on the brim to make it stick out or up. I'd appreciate any ideas you might have. Thanks!
Hi Antoinette! Glad you enjoyed the video, Lol! I got my ball from one of those big rubber ball bins in the toy department at a Target store. Wal-Mart probably has them too. They had several sizes that you could use for different heads and the ball can usually be aired up pretty tight to increase the diameter. I used a bike pump to air up the ball. I also purchased some air pump needles in the bike department that fit in my ball's air hole. Maybe take measuring tape so you can measure them to find the right one. I would think that 8 oz. of roving would be plenty to make a good hat with a brim. You're right on with the starch, to hold a brim up. I have never made a silk hat but would love to see one if you end up creating it. Best of luck with you're creations!! :)
Love the video, thank you for the tutorial. You have a great sense of humour 😆👍 and I enjoyed all the hat changes. I think I may need a beach ball for my head.
I ended up throwing the ball in the dryer to complete the felting process, was much easier than doing it by hand. Took about 30-40 minutes on high, kept checking it every 10 minutes.
I just enjoy listening to you haha, you're a great teacher :D I wasn't going to make a hat but just see a few seconds of the video and what comes out...but here I am, seen all the 9 minutes of it and it's totally awesome :D
Was not planning on making a hat, but this great video might have changed my mind, I have a ton of roving that I was going to do needle felting with, but it takes so long, just have not done enough with what I have so I really might do this. Have you ever designed a wet felted purse this way? if so can you tell me site to look up? You are great
Bahaha, you crack me up! love the tutorial, well done! I am about to watch it again just so I can count how many different hats you wore during the 8:53 minutes lol.
She is fun, and her technique is interesting. I've been felting over 20 years...I don't shock the wool or wrap it up or use any of this stuff. It would not work for me and it's not my style, but it was fun watching something different. If anyone wants to see the real basics of hat making try Rosemary's Basics.
awesome video!! new to felting and already im addicted, begain with wool dreads, now im making all kinds of crazy stuff, would love to try this though!!!
