Having such a productive conversation with someone is what we all should look forward to. I remember Kristen mentioning her favorite stand-up act by Jenny, in one of the recent interviews and now seeing them having a lil chat is so fulfilling. Good advice for aspiring novelists and screenwriters. I wholeheartedly agree with the analogy of building something brick-by-brick, as Kristen mentions or one piece at a time as Jenny states. I'm on the verge of completing a screenplay and have approached the project much in the same way from the start, beat-by-beat, scene-by-scene.

It sounds like both want their fellow actors to get as emotionally involved as they get when it comes to playing a role. But it also sounds like engaging in playing a role and having that interaction also takes a lot of one's self. Some people don't want that emotional exaustion. It's a way of self protection. Doesn't make them fake. That is not to say some people aren't fake. But then again you can't expect to have such deep connections with everyone you meet/work. Just putting that out there.
