Go with me as I check out the 2025 Dalton Georgia Civil War relic show that was packed full of incredible historical Civil War relics and more!! #adventure #civilwar
Great work Cliff!! I remember back in the 1980’s we had a military flea market once a month in Concord Massachusetts at the old armory . Me my buddy’s would spend tons of money on everything from civil war stuff to WWII. I miss those shows and I’m sure they were shut down by the state, we used to get great deals on surplus ammo. I remember buying 30-06, .303 and 8mm at $3 per box, the good old days.
Dang good crowd and some new to me venders. I may need to drop in next year. If I can't make it just pick me up one of those Colt Navy pocket pistols. I love the clicking sound of pulling back the hammer...makes me think of Clint Eastwood. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day.
Thanks, Cliff, for posting this exceptional video. One of the best for Civil War relics! Great variety of pristine guns, massive artillery shells and military coat buttons. It was awesome to see Calvary and Artillery buttons among some of the collections. The Louisiana Shell Jacket was also in amazing condition. I especially liked the Victorian ladies hair combs and jewelry. I enjoyed your interview of the Reverend. I plan on reading some of his books. Its interesting that so much of Civil War history focuses on the political, military and medical aspects, that the religious ones have been overlooked. And a nice shoutout to the History Gone Wilder channel and the author Brad Quinlin. I need to read his books also! Thanks for sharing all of this great history with those of us who cant be at the shows, just yet! P.S. At 1:12, is that a Surgeon's medical box, or a medicine box for the home? A barber's kit? It was difficult to differentiate.
I'm kicking myself, as here in the U.K some 25yrs ago, a militaria dealer was selling a Medal of Honor for £1,100. It was awarded to someone of Irish descent in the american Indian wars. It was hand engraved on the reverse and the ribbon was tatty, but all original. Can't remember the recipients name.
My great, great grandfather Oliver Price served the Georgia 39th. He’s buried somewhere there near Dalton. He was captured in Vicksburg paroled and went his way. He was wounded near what is now for liberty or Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Came back and lived in misery for the rest of his life. But I think that’s a part of the tradition of those people in that area of Georgia to be miserable.
thanks for taking us along ! i enjoyed the church history during the civil war
